initially set at 100- thousand dollars... but that was waived during his initial court both prosecutors.. and the alleged victims mother are outraged... 062501 - its kind of scary because you kind of think that things are put in place like this protect kids and protect other people and that being waived or eliminated just makes you question you know, if he could go and do whatever he wants, what else will happen 182606 - the charge is a class b felony with a potential sentence with up to 25 years and typically in class b felonies you see some time of bond established, a person is not just released to the supervision of the iowa department of corrections - dan kolacia as part of the pre-trial release... tullis must have adult supervision when he's around anyone under des moines police are investigating a shooting... officers were called to this auto body shop on second avenue... but weren't sure if that's where the shooting took place. an officer told us the victim was shot in the abdomen and that quote, "he wasn't going to die." police haven't said whether or not they arrested anyone or if they're looking for a suspect. the city of des moines is facing more legal action over its use of interstate speed cameras. this time its a class action lawsuit. the two plaintiffs say the speed cameras on i-235 are illegally handing out tickets because the d-o-t ordered them turned off. the d-o-t issued the order in march, saying the cameras don't improve traffic safety. in the lawsuit the two plaintiffs are asking a judge to shut down the program and issue refunds to everyone ticketed. meanwhile sioux city will consider a reduction in fines for its interstate speed camera. the city currently charges speeders that to 100-dollars. in des moines.. speed camera tickets range from 65-dollars to 80- dollars depending on how fast you're going. iowa's unemployment rate hit a 14-year low in november... iowa workforce development says the unemployment rate fell a tenth of a point to 3-point-4 percent last month. that's the lowest rate since 20-01. its also much better than the national unemployment rate of 5-percent. dupont pioneer is trying to back-out of a deal to create more than 300-jobs in iowa. according to the iowa city press citizen.. the company is scrapping plans to build a 90-million dollar corn plant in independence. pioneer blames a downtown in the economy for the change. iowa leaders awarded the company 21-million dollars in tax incentives for the project based on the job creation goal. the farm economy isn't the only thing hurting right now...
