Investigators say the female deputy was getting out of her car in goose creek around midnight when she was shot. North Charleston Police say the suspect was in a standoff for hours. But just moments ago local media reported the suspect has died from a selfinflicted gunshot wound. The Sheriffs Offices Facebook Says the deputy is in stable condition. A gunman and three other people are dead after a series of shootings in the southcentral part of the state. 3 the Harvey County sheriff says the suspect killed three people inside a manufacturing plant where they worked. The suspect was shot and killed by police. Authorities say before the shootout. The gunman had driven through at least two towns, shooting out of his window. 14 people were injured at four different locations. Most of them are in critical condition. The greenville fire chief tells us the fire started about 6 30 this morning at the Tara Apartments on lowndes hill road. We are working on getting more information and well pass it along as we get it. 3 3 the family of an upstate man killed in an officer involved shooting has filed a wrongful death suit against the Greenville Countys Sheriffs Office and sheriff steve loftis. 3 Charles Rosemond died last year in december after an officerinvolved shooting inside his home while deputies were investigating a reported robbery. 3 this was the scene outside rosemonds apartment complex in taylors. Deputies say they identifed themselves before forcing entry into the home. Rosemond fired one shot hitting Deputy Dave Dempsey returned fire. The lawsuit filed on thursday alleges the shooting resulted from excessive force. And that deputies hadnt been invited into the home. 3 in the ongoing legal battle surrounding the death of clemson student tucker hipps the sigma phi epsion fraternity has filed a response to a lawsuit from hipps family. 3 hipps died in september of 2014 while on an Early Morning run with his Fraternity Brothers. That fraternity is denying any responsibility for tuckers death. Death. The fraternity denies hipps fall, injuries and death from the highway93 bridge were caused by Fraternity Brothers gross negligence and recklessness, and that any injuries or damages sustained were caused by hipps own fault. While the fraternity did confirm tucker was elected pledge class president they went on to deny dozens of other allegations that hipps family has made. The wrongful death lawsuit seeks more than 25 million in damages against Clemson University, the fraternity and some of its members.
