3 new tonight... 3 paying it forward.it's something that people do daily....but a group of upstate police officers and their families experienced it first hand -after their dinner table of 14 had their bill fully paid for. 3 take a look, this was the reciept that the table of officers and their families recieved after the tab was paid for at the los cabos bar and grill in inman. the women who picked up the tab wrote "blue lives matter". 3 it's a gesture that surprised both the officers and the restaurant owner. 3 fox carolina's rebecca atkins spoke with one of the officers tonight and that owner.she's live outside the restaurant with more on this story, rebecca? 3 cody and diana, it really was an incredibly kind thing for this women to do, and although many people may be wondering restaurant tells me she didn't want the officers knowing who she was, and he never got her name. 3 3 3 nats: of musicit's a lively mexican restaurant in inman. los cabos is family friendly and has many regular customers. among them are inman police officers. but what happened to them here just a few nights ago, shocked them. them. 3 "a lady comes up to me and tells me she wants to pay the bill for the police officers." raul jaime is one of the owners of los cabos and says there were 14 people at the table, it was some officers with inman police and one travelers rest officer, plus all of their families. "wanna leave any notes, she says no... and a minute later she says well, let me get a note." jaine says he gave her a ticket and this is what she wrote, "blue lives matter". but she didn't want them knowing who she was. was. 3 "we were all kind of in shock, because it wasn't just a group of officers where it was just 3 or four of us sitting down, it was our whole families, and they took care of everything." cody pucetas was one of the table. and he says currently with a lot of negativity targetet at law enforcement it was nice to see someone supporting them."law enforcement, officers are being killed in record numbers you know there's just this stigman that they're targeting law are being targeted for a mulitude of different reasons." and for officers like pucetas who is also a firefighter in spartanburg, he says being a public servant can have it's ups and down, but says the community can really help you push forward."you'll have you're bad days and you'll have your good days, you have your good days when you sit there and feel like you saved the world and then you'll have your bad days when you're like i don't even know why i'm doing this job... so these lot." 3 and the ticket is now with one of the inman police officers, he tells me his wife is going to frame it. reporting live in inman, rebecca atkins fox carolina the 10 o'clock news. 3 in a developing story... 3 more details tonight - and even here in south carolina - one greer police officer thought about taking action a little closer to home. 3 detective jonathan mcwhite launched a mentoring program for kids and officers. the greer police force is reaching out to the community - pairing up with children to help them see what's behind the badge. 3 rather than relaxing at home - greer pd officers are now using their off-duty hours taking kids to football games and visiting their schools. 3 fox carolina's shale remien has been talking with the officer who started it all - 3 diana and cody - when i was around this officers, spending time with the kids,- it is a sight that could really warm anyone's heart. it is a side of law enforcment you usually don't see...a nuturing one. greer officers say they want to be an approachable source in the community - is opening up their first plant in the u.s. the companies will invest more than 215 million dollars in henderson county - to make 3 anyway this company could have gone anywhere they picked a new site and a great county and it's going to have a tremendous long-term impact on western north carolina. 3 these companies are expected to locate in the mills river area - and will create 350 jobs.as a symbol of welcoming - the governor gave the company leaders a bowl made from a tree struck by lightning at the statehouse in raleigh. 3 a spartanburg man is dead after being hit on a car while on his moped.the coroner says 51 year old keith harrelson was driving at the intersection of north pine and east daniel morgan avenue around 3:30 today when he collided with a wrecker.he was taken to spartanburg regional where he later died -
