morris--after dropping the child on her head and stepping on her...while abusing alcohol and drugs.the baby's mother told police her daughter was in the car of morris while she was at work... and came home to find her with swelling on her head and a black eye.tonight morris is charged with unlawful neglect of a child and was denied bond. bond.and just this afternoon the baby's mother....whitney barnwell appeared in bond court....charged with three counts of child neglect-after authorities say the home they were stayin in was dirty.she was awarded a 75-thousand- dollar bond. bond.prosecutors say the baby is suffereing from brain hemmorages and swelling. police say she remains at g-h-s in critical condition. 3 and this laurens county woman....kay thomason is in custody after cops say she lead them on a six-mile chase...in a car with only three wheels.they say she initially called 9-1-1 requesting an ambulance quickly called back and said she would drive herself to the hospital.the sheriff's office says they caught up to thomason driving on charlottes road...but she refused to stop...even driving on the wrong side of the road at times....before deputies used stop sticks on torrington road to slow her down.the chase then ended on curry road. road.thomason was later arrested and tonight is charged with failure to stop for blue lights. 3 almost three months after the horrific crash that left four usc upstate students dead... the coroner says speed was just *one of the factors that caused the crash...but tonight spartanburg county officials are focusing on october that four usc upstate students were killed, and one other their car around this tree... while the coroner says speed was a factor in that crash, county officials say it's not the first deadly accident here on 4th street.the county is looking at plans to make the road safer to drive,they say it's old, narrow and winding... and they want to improve it-- taking out some of the more dangerous curves, widening the road and broadening the shoulders...they say these improvements probably would not have prevented october's accident...but say 4th street just isn't equipped to deal with the 4900
