3 new gun regulations are 3 soon coming our way. the president is laying out details this week. but there are a lot of people don't want them 3 instead the owner and customers at blue ridge shooting sports want the government to enforce laws already on the books. president obama is recommending gun regulations - he says could keep guns out of the wrong hands. he wants anyone who sells guns to have a licenseseand wants to strengthen background checks. the owner here says if criminals want a gun - they will buy it underground. he wants to see current regulations enforced. 3 3 3 "any new regulations, i don't think the government keeps up with the old regulations enough to throw the new regulations on there. if they already on the books, i think we would have a safer community. instead of throwing new stuff just regulate what they are." are."the atf will issue updated guidance that says the government should deem anyone in the business of selling guns to be a dealer, regardless of bond.he was released just placed under house arrest-- pending his trial on october 31-st. 3 slager is charged with fatally shooting this man--walter scott in april of last year. year.he was arrested after this cell phone video surfaced...showing slager fatally shoot scott in the back...as he's seen running away from a traffic stop into a field.officials say slager fired eight times...killing scott.now today the family attorney of walter scott is speaking out over slagers release. 3 3 3 "all criminal defendants do have a constitutional right to appear before the judge and request bond. today is just another step in the criminal justice process. but we still fully believe, and the family believes, that at the end of the day justice will prevail." prevail."now slager's attorney fought for a speedy trial... but the ninth circuit solicitor-- scarlet wilson...filed a motion... asking for a later date because she is also working on the case against the suspect of the emanuel ame church legislature passes this session. 3 sponsors say the bill has gained a lot of support from lawmakers.and we're hearing from one of those lawmakers in an exclusive interview today. today.fox carolina's andrew reeser joins us now with more...andrew. 3 3 3 and that bill is set to be introduced in the state legistlature some time next week when the legislature returns that's if a bill pre-filed in the state legislature gets passed this session. it was filed by upstate representative neal collins and jonathan hill... both filed similar bills after the deaths of two k9 officers...one named fargo in richland county...the other, hyco...in anderson county last october. both were shot to death in the line of duty. collins says currently the sentence for killing a k9 is one to five years...but if this bill passes..that could be lengthened up to 10...a penaltyanderson county sheriff john skipper says is more than fair. 3 3 "five years didn't seem appropriate to us, so we at the sheriffs office are on board with getting stiffer penalties." penalties." 3 "these are not just tools for law enforcmeent, they are living breathing beings."the bill was pre-filed last month and will be introduced next week when the legislative session begins. 3 3 we are also told that that bill would require convicted killers of k9 officers to pay full restitution to replace those dogs. in anderson county encounter was meant to be. 3 just before midnight the man walked into the church with a rifle...the pastor says he approached the man...who said he had thoughts of doing something terrible--but instead the lord led him to pastor and church members say the scary y tuation turned to one of support. 3 3 3 "i saw in his eyes hopelessness, hurt, pain, desesir." despair." 3 "his next words were can you pray for me. 3 now the man in this case is not facing any charges.he told the pastor he is a convicted felon....and is suffering from p-t-s-d after serving with the military.he's since returned to the church where he hopes to become a member. 3 chief meteorologist kendra 3 snow will continue for the mountains through this evening, then slowly wind down into the overnight. winds will remain gusty keeping wind chills in the teens for the mountains and 20's in the upstate this evening. winds will lessen overnight, helping temperatures to fall fast. will bring temperatures in the mid 20s for upper teens in the mountains. expect sunny skies through tuesday with a lighter wind out of the northwest and highs in the upper 30s for the mountains and mid 40s in the upstate.cooler than normal temperatures will stick around through mid-week with continued sunshine. our next chance for rain will move in from the gulf late thursday into early friday. rain looks light at this point, so flooding shouldn't be a concern.our weather pattern will be active going into the weekend with another system approaching for saturday night and sunday. that one should winter weather will be possible in the mountains. it will have to be monitored closely. heavy rain could be a concern.early next week some extremely cold air will drop in with an upper level trough. some pieces of upper level energy
