cape and the islands, city of boston, worcester, fitchburg, gloucester, winter storm warning today. the storm is with us right now. in fact, the wind has arrived ahead of the snow in the city of boston, very windy right now, it's cold wind, as well. snow starts... arrived on the cape about 6:00 a.m. it's working up the south shore within the city of boston within next one to two hours. it will be the heaviest later this morning up until mid-afternoon and then lighter snows this evening and overnight tonight, but the concern this go around compared to friday, we have an astronomical high tide and a lot of wind some there may be some moderate coastal flooding at that 11:00 a.m. high tide. doppler radar showing a narrow band of heavy snow on the cape and the islands. it's having a hard time advancing north. the air is dry here in the city of boston, but there are reports of some flurries plymouth, carver, and this continues to work north. so that snow will find its way up into metro boston within next couple hours. probably about three hours from now southern new hampshire. here is the storm. power house storm. even though it's out over the has such a reach that it can reach all the way up into southern new england for a time today as well as early this evening. so your storm time line moves the snow quickly up across the south shore and enter the metro boston later this morning. the heaviest snow is mid-day through the middle of the afternoon, and then patchy, lighter snow this evening and overnight tonight, and then it's all gone by 7:00 tomorrow morning. gone meaning the storm is over, but here to stay, the snow, we have a cold week. so 5 to 9 inches of snow is what you can expect by tomorrow morning around the met row. 'd plan on around 6 or 7 inches of snow in boston proper by tomorrow morning. higher amounts out on cape ann, merrimack valley, 5 to 9 inches of snow, worcester about 6, 7 inches of snow, look like the south shore will have nose snow, close to a foot of snow. chris? >> chris: j.r., it's dryer snow than the last storm for most of us. that's thanks to cold air in place. for most of us now, we're okay. things will l go down hill late afternoon. that's when we'll get the bulk of the snow. the snow will continue overnight tonight and gusty strong winds continuing this morning into early this afternoon at times 50 to 60mph. strongest gusts down through the cape and the islands. because of that northeasterly wind pushing ocean watered toward the coastline and down through the south shore, the cape and nantucket, a celestial glad warning in effect from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. high tide close to 11:00. we'll likely see widespread minor coastal flooding along the south shore. the difference with this storm, with that cold air getting dragged in here late morning through the afternoon, i think for a lot of us temperatures falling into the low 20s. so it's a lower water content snow, it's a drier snow, easier to push around. however, right along the immediate coastline down through plymouth county, the cape and the islands, it stays wetter snow, at least through the early afternoon hours. but we do expect still some scattered power outages thanks to the strong gusty winds throughout the day. more on the forecast to "comedians in cars getting coffing" up in a bit. >> sarah: thanks, chris. east of worcester county are closed and non-emergency employees are being told to stay at home. >> christa: the gives urging people the stay off the roads today if you can. conditions are expected to be worse as you heard on the cape and the south shore. so let's head to sandwich and nicole nicole oliverio is right in the knick of it. it seems like the wind is the story where you are, nicole? >> nicole: the wind is not giving up, definitely persist, especially right off the water here in sandwich. if you take a look just behind me, you can see already the white caps forming as these waves come crashing into the shore. the winds right now the major issue. you can see the snow that's mixing in that just makes the conditions a little bit more miserable to be out new york but it's the wind that's going to knock down the trees and power lines and that's going to cause the power outages. so even though we're going to see slow accumulation of snow even though the roads look all right and they might be all right to travel on, it's the winds that will give us the biggest problems down on the cape which is under a blizzard warning. snowfall totals by the time the storm is over at nearly a foot. for now that's the latest live in sandwich, nicole oliverio, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: all right, nicole. thank you. don't forget we'll be continuing to monitor conditions as this blizzard gets closer to us. ism we'll keep an eye on the roads and your morning commute, but we'll be back at 7:25 with another update. i took some as a souvenir. >> we're joined by denver bronco's linebacker demarcus ware. good morning. >> good morning. >> i don't know if it's a morning of continuation of your partying last night, but how does it feel to wake up super bowl champs? >> you know, it's february the 8th right now at 3:45 a.m., and i am still going right now. it's a good thing. just having fun right now and celebrating with the guys. wins championships. >> that's right. >> when you sat in the room the last couple weeks and you looked at tapes of cam newton and the panthers, what did you see in those tapes that made you think you can contain him and them? >> the thing is, i just look at the speed of our defense, and having guys that can rush the pass. like me and vaughn and malik. we've been against so many running quarterbacks. with aaron rodgers, andrew luck. those guys sort of got us ready for this point right now. we already had our rush package and things we needed to do to contain a guy like cam newton. we were comfortable. but we knew also who we were going against. he's a great quarterback. >> cam newton doesn't suffer from lack of confidence, but it seems like there was this key play early on with the sack, the fumble, the touchdown. do you feel like that was a key set the course? in the game. i think we needed that push, the motivation from vaughn getting the strip back, and then getting a touchdown. you can see it sort of put us over the top a bit. we were already stopping the run already. it made them one-dimensional so little bit. >> let me ask you this, demarcus, so much talk after the game, even before the game, would this be peyton manning's last game. did he say anything in the locker room privately to the players that leads you to believe he's leaning in one direction or another? >> i wouldn't think he -- i mean, from the speech that he gave all the way up to the game, i mean, i felt like he was in it 100% and not thinking about, you know, retiring or anything like that. but, you know, if this is or was his last game, you know, he went out on top. i'm just glad to be able to -- got a little piece of history with the denver broncos. >> super bowl champion demarcus ware, congratulations. >> feels so good. >> sounds good. >> get some sleep. >> you wear it well. >> all right. thank you so much. >> congratulations to him and all the broncos. by the way, we're going to have a chance to talk to peyton manning live, and more on the halftime show. those closely watched commercials, as well. we'll do that throughout the show. >> we're not done talking about the super bowl but let's talk politics. the new hampshire primary is tomorrow and the candidates are making their last-minute pushes. after a memorable republican debate over the weekend, marco rubio finds himself facing new attacks this morning. we have all of it covered. let's start with peter alexander. good morning. >> good morning to you. after repeating himself repeatedly, the question this morning, can marco rubio rebound? it was the most dramatic and defining moment, most challenging moment of rubio's campaign. it runs the risk of reinforcing rubio is too programmed, too robotic. >> reporter: here in the granite state, donald trump looking to seal his lead against jeb bush. >> jeb bush brings out his mother because he needed help. mom, walk in the snow. >> reporter: the latest attack after trump barrelled through boos on saturday night. >> property from an elderly woman. >> let me talk, quiet. a lot of time -- >> reporter: this morning, marco rubio is trying to silence critics after the freshman senator, already under fire for being too scripted, repeated the same rehearsed line four times. >> let's stop with the fiction that barack obama doesn't know what he's doing. the fiction that barack obama doesn't know what he's doing. >> reporter: rubio seemingly rattled with chris christie delivering the pounding. >> there it is, the memorized speech. as an untestedpi side epi episoed take epi episode taking on a life of its own. >> i would pay them to run the clip because it's what i believe, passionately. >> reporter: the contenders trying to put saturday night's backstage pile up in the rear-view mirrors. candidates missing their queue. another forgotten entirely. >> we're going to introduce ohio governor john kasich. >> this morning, here are your standings. right now, the daily tracking poll, courtesy of our friends in boston, you see donald trump in new hampshire, fortifying his lead up 24 points over his competitors. ted cruz and marco rubio behind him. john kasich and jeb bush behind chris christie believes that four or perhaps five candidates may move on to south carolina later this month. >> peter, thank you so much. over on the democratic side, bernie sanders holds a lead in the polls over clinton heading into the new hampshire primary. it didn't stop clinton from making a detour on sunday. that race. good morning to you. >> good morning to you. trailing bernie sanders badly here in new hampshire, hillary clinton left the state sunday to go to flint for a while. a signal to many that she's already focusing on the primaries to come. but bill clinton was all about trying to change the outcome here in new hampshire. >> reporter: for bill clinton, the gloves are off in new hampshire. >> when you're making a revolution, you can't be too careful about the facts. >> reporter: the former president criticizing sanders' policy proposals and his behavior in the campaign. >> is he good for america? i don't think so. good for new hampshire? >> reporter: called president clinton's words, quote, disappointing. saying the campaign will continue to focus on the issues. clinton is also going after sanders' supporters for using what he calls sexist language. >> attacks that are literally too profane, often, not to mention sexist. >> reporter: behind by double digits, hillary clinton was back in new hampshire sunday night. appealing for votes, insisting granite state. >> i'm going to work for every close on tuesday. >> reporter: but the polls show her losing support among women, especially young women. facing an uphill battle in new hampshire, she spent most of sunday in flint. >> what happened in flint is im immoral. >> reporter: the water crisis is an issue the campaign feels is resonating. >> i will stand with you every step of the way. i will not for one minute forget about you. >> reporter: and she is also escalating her attacks on sanders' foreign policy >> there really isn't any kind of foreign policy network that is supporting and advising senator sanders. >> reporter: sanders fired back. >> lately, i have been lectured on foreign policy. >> reporter: and hammered clinton for voting for the iraq war. >> i was right on that issue. hillary clinton was wrong. >> hold on! >> reporter: sanders showed his lighter side when his ith his double, larry david, on "snl." >> we need to unite and work together to get through this. >> sounds like socialism to me. >> democratic socialism. >> what's the difference? >> huge difference. >> huge? >> huge. >> bernie sanders calls himself machine. in new hampshire, he has ads. another reason the clinton closing the gap here. this race is getting nastier. sanders has denounced the supporters who have been engaging in online harassment. >> andrea, thank you very much. >> let's bring in our experts. nicolle wallace served as an adviser to the mccain-palin campaign, and chuck todd, moderator of "meet the press." >> good morning. >> chuck, big moment, big stakes. chris christie absolutely eviscerated marco rubio. it's like a game of three-dimensional chess. where does it fall out? >> i think the consequence of what happened saturday night is, i think no matter what happens here, barring one of the candidates sort of skyrocketing or an upset over trump, i think it means now nobody gets out. i think it means new hampshire doesn't win out the field. marco rubio had an opportunity to take control of the race on he knew everybody was going to come after him. that's what makes saturday night so perplexing. he knew they were coming after him and he wasn't ready. he ended up blowing an opportunity that i think could have been meaning securing the nomination, believe it or not. if he had had as good of a night as he had as bad of a night. >> let's go further on that. chris christie spent the whole week saying exactly what he was going to say to attack marco rubio on that stage on saturday night. punch. i'm going to hit you right in the nose. marco rubio didn't prepare for it and had no answer for it. >> here's a dirty little secret. marco rubio is polarizing in the republican party. from the outside, he looks like a pleasant, rising star in our ranks. inside the party and the field of candidates, he has thin skin on policy matters, and chris christie saw an opening. >> he absolutely did. i guess that's the question, chuck. again on the fallout, where it all comes, does it lift christie? does this have the effect of helping christie? what about donald trump? no one goes after donald trump. he's the one who looks to be about to win new hampshire, if you believe the polls. >> by a lot. >> i don't know if it helps christie at all. i don't know if christie looked good in the moment. he looked tough in the moment, made rubio look terrible in the moment. but nobody i talked to believes christie has been helped here. the candidate that may have been helped the most by this, john kasich. he has been sort of the guy that doesn't attack anybody. in new hampshire, that could get rewarded. he's the guy that every other campaign quietly thinks could end up in second place or surging in the last minute. >> funny how things end up. i'll ask you about the democrats here. you have bill clinton out there, really standing up for his wife, hillary clinton, saying the tactics being used by the bernie >> you have bill clinton there looking really desperate. then you have hillary clinton's most prominent female surrogates unload on young women who are drawn to bernie sanders. i have thought all along hillary clinton was in a strong enough position to glide through the ups and downs of the early states. she struggled in iowa eight years ago. bernie sanders is from the neighboring state. the fact she can't be more placid when he's challenged is, to me, the greatest threat to her eventual ability to be the nominee. these are hurdles like marco rubio she should have seen coming. it's more concerning for her supporters to see bill clinton and gloria steinham become unhinged. >> playing the sexism card, because that's what it is. is that a winner? >> they want to rally women. it hasn't happened. everything has been the clinton campaign knows it'll be a long february before they get to south carolina. >> chuck, i'm coming your way. live in new hampshire tomorrow. complete coverage of the primary tomorrow morning on "today," weather permitting. forewarned. something else that could impact voting in new hampshire, the weather. we have a strong winter storm beginning to hit new england. this morning, another one behind that one. al, what's going on? >> we're watching a parade of storms make their way to the northeast. here's the first one. right now, snow already in long island, connecticut, and just about ready to move into boston. as it does, it's going to be dumping a fairly good amount of snow from new england, long island, all the way up to manchester. the snow will be heavier later this morning. tonight, it moves to the north bit. we're also going to be looking at cold air coming in. whatever is on the ground is going to freeze up. through tonight, we're talking about plymouth, massachusetts, 8 to 10. manchester, 3 to 5. also looking for low pressure to develop along the front and make its way to the north. the good news is, this isn't going to add a lot of snow to the northeast, where . it'll affect the appalachians, virginia, the delmarva peninsula. still talking about cold air and impact. that's what's going on. we'll get to most people know the four c's of a diamond. now, kay jewelers brings chocolate. levian chocolate diamonds. only levian, masters of jewelry design for centuries... ...makes jewelry with rare save up to 20% on select levian styles, with dazzling designs that she's sure to love. at kay, the number-one jewelry store... ...in america. levian chocolate diamonds... ...for the sweetest thing in your life. >> jeremy: good monday morning. blizzard warning in effect until 7:00 p.m. blizzard warning in effect. we're watching the snow back income. heavier bands off the cape spreading from southeast to northwest. so i do expect travel conditions and the snow to pick up as we go through the rest of the morning. really mid-morning through mid-to-late afternoon the height of this storm. expecting widespread 5 to 9 inches of snow 495 east toward the coastline. locally up to a foot across cape >> that's your latest weather. >> al, thanks. coming up, a nightmare trip for cruise ship passengers. the video as their boat is caught in a powerful storm overnight. >> not enough dramamine in the world. deadly accident at an olympic bobsled park. just ahead, was super bowl 50 peyton manning's last game? >> there are concerns along the coast this morning. strong winds and high tide could cause flooding on the south shore. 7's victoria warren live in search walt now with more. >> victoria: good morning, sarah. there are some intense winds blowing in scituate this morning. it's just getting more intense as the morning goes on. as the sun has risen, we can see the ocean behind here. it's getting pretty intense out there. we have not had any snow yet. the snow is coming. but what they're going to be watching here in scituate is that high tide approaching today, the chance for some area, they know well with these storms you have the snowfall totals, but when you add the wind and the water, you can have flooding in basement, you can have power outages. there's often voluntary evacuations out this way. no voluntary evacuations in place yet, but it's a situation they're going to be watching very closely again. high tide is just before 11:00 a.m. so in the hour or so leading up to high tide and the hour or so after high tide, it's going to be a tricky situation on scituate as they see just how much of the water may actually come over the sea wall out here. live this morning in scituate, victoria warren, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: road crews have a busy few days ahead of them with this drawn-out storm. let's send it to 7's kris anderson. he's live in weston at the salt pile. i'm sure it's been busy all morning long there, kris. >> kris: sarah, it has been. crews have been moving in and out. in fact, a truck just pulled out seconds ago. these front loaders are loading of salt and road treatment so they can get out and get these roads treated ahead of the snow, which hasn't arrived yet. i want to tell you, the temperature is dropping and the winds are increasing. take a look at these flags here. you can see how hard these winds are blowing right now. and in the distance, just below the flag, we see these trucks. they filled up with all of the salt so they can get out on the roadways. massachusetts has up to 4,000 trucks and pieces of equipment on stand-by to treat the roadways as that snow continues to move in. all morning long, we've seen these trucks moving in. the front loaders will fill them up with the salt so they can get out there. school closures, boston is closed. most places in the area, no school for the second straight day because they were closed on friday with that storm moving in. and then, of course, we have what's happening here this morning, governor charlie baker encouraging everyone to work from home if possible today. they're saying anyone who is a non-essential employee can stay home and obviously you have to check in with your boss, but if roadways today, that's probably the best bet, though we do see heavy traffic this morning. it's a clear sign that people are getting out, trying to get ahead of that storm so they can get to where they're going before that snow moves in. not a snow emergency in the city of boston. so no space savers out there. so remember that. that's the latest live here in weston, kris anderson, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: let's see how those roads are being impacted. here's danielle gersh. >> danielle: thanks, sarah. good morning, everyone. i think most people are staying home today because this is a look at the expressway northbound. you can see usually it looks a lot worse at this time of the morning. let's head to the maps now. keep in mind, the hov lane on the expressway will be closed because of the weather today. still it's only a ten-minute drive from braintree into boston. south of town, route 3, 24, 95 all looking good. no issues to tell you about there this morning. the pike from framingham into boston, all green. no delays there. heading south on route 39 --ed 93 from lawrence over 128 into is your drive on route 1. ten minutes on the expressway from braintree to boston. into town on the pike from 128, 12 minutes. 93 southbound, 128 to the zakim bridge 11 minutes. so far this morning the "t" is on time. and it's planning to run on its normal weekday schedule. sarah? up, the cape and south shore are bracing really for a blizzard. >> christa: and our weather team is here. they're tracking the totals for us, what we're going to see. here's jeremy rhiner with the latest. j.r.? >> jeremy: we have the blizzard warning in effect for plymouth county as well as the cape and the islands. winter storm warning boston, worcester, fitchburg. heavier snow now marching through buzzards bay, lake phil report of heavy snow. pembroke beginning to see the snow. metro boston, snow flurries. so from here on out, the road conditions deteriorate rapidly north of pike, still have another one to three hours, then your snow gets going later this morning. we all see steady snow mid to late morning through the middle of the afternoon. and then there will be pockets of dryer air that try to chew away at the snow. you notice here at 8:30 tonight, again, hardly anything showing up on the radar in connecticut and rhode island, even up into the worcester hills, and even metro boston. so the brunt of the storm is late this morning through mid to late afternoon. and then this evening and overnight tonight just patchy light snow. and then it's gone by tomorrow morning. how much snow is on the way by tomorrow morning? a large area of 5 to 9 inches of snow as you work down toward the south shore. upward of a foot of snow possible, and up through the merrimack valley, the route 2 corridor 3 to 5 inches of snow. cape ann also in that 9 to 12 inches of snow. chris? 60mph an hour at times down through the cape and the islands and coastal plymouth county, especially near plymouth, marshfield and scituate along the coastline. also have a coastal flood warning in place from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. high tide close to 11:00. so a couple hours either side of that high tide expecting some minor to pockets of moderate coastal flooding. best chance for pockets of moderate would be scituate, provincetown and nantucket, because of the wind and the stickier snow down through far southeastern mass, the cape and the islands likely seeing scattered power outages, even inland isolated power outages are possible thanks to the gusty wind and the weakened tree branches from the last storm that we had on friday. one thing to note, though, it's going to be a dryer. for a lot of us. much colder air working in late this morning into this afternoon. temperatures falling for much of the area close to 20 degrees. so we'll have a dryer, lower water content snow, although a stickier snow down through coastal plymouth county, down through the cape and the islands. more on the forecast to come. >> christa: chris, thank you. expected to be the worst on the cape and south shore. ism we're already getting reports of power outage, about 1,700 statewide. nicole oliverio is live in sandwich. nicole, how are things where you are? >> nicole: well, this is definitely one of the areas that's going to have to be concerned about power outages, definitely because of the wind. maybe it's easier to see just how strong the winds are now that you have the snow mixing in and there's thicker flakes and it's just starting to settle and stick to the ground here. but definitely the winds have been an issue all morning long. and you can see what it's doing right along the coastline. if you take a look, you can see the waves and white caps crashing up against the sand in sandwich. the cape is one of the areas that's under that blizzard warning. we're expected to see winds like this gusting all morning long. the accumulation really not settling in until the morning, but it's these winds that will take down power lines and tree limbs, and that's going to cause so even though it may look like the roads are safe the drive on, it's not safe to be outside. for now that's the latest live in sandwich, nicole oliverio, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: road crews have a busy day ahead of them with this drawn out storm. >> christa: and the wind that's going to be kicked up, as well. we've been seeing crews gearing up this morning. they're loading up the salt trucks. let's head out to the scene with 7's kris anderson. kris? >> kris: christa and sarah, we're in the seeing my of the snow yet. we russia however, seeing winds pick up. temperatures dropping and wiz picking up. so these crews have been getting ready the best they can. front loaders here have been loading up the salt and scooping up the big truck full of salt and filling the salting trucks so they can then pull out, and if you swing around here, you can see them in stand-by mode. they're right over here getting ready to jump on the roads. so when the snow does start falling, they can start treating the roads. they've been treating it overnight, but they want to continue to lay down the salt best they can as soon as it starts falling. again, in the weston area where we are now at the police barracks, where the salt piles are, no snow falling just yet, so it's on its way, we'll keep monitoring this situation and bring you updates throughout the morning right here on 7news. live in weston, kris anderson, news "todayin new england." >> sarah: thanks, kris. 8:02 right now. road conditions will get worse as the morning wears on. let's get a check of conditions from 7's marshall hook and our traffic tracker. >> marshall: the snow is definitely coming. we have it down hire route 3 northbound in plymouth. and it's that wind/snow combination that's a problem for visibility. snow on its own, particularly as you can see the smaller flakes not a huge problem, but when the wind starts to blow, it picks it up. that's already on the ground. you get visibility issues. we have seen a kind of wane, and come. so it's been heavier and righter and heavier again. right now it's much further nor than it was earlier. traffic still very light, an idea of the entire traffic picture. >> danielle: thanks, marshal. good morning, everyone. i think most of you are staying off the roads. here's a look at the expressway northbound. the hov lane like friday will be closed because of the weather. let's go to the maps from braintree into boston. that drive just ten minutes. south of town, route 3, 24, 95, no issues to tell you about. the pike from framingham into boston, all green. so no delays there either. and heading into town on 93 southbound or route 1, either way your weakened tree branches and limbs just from the last storm hanging there that may come down thanks to the wind. the snow will be a little wetter along the plymouth county coastline and down through the cape and the islands. sarah? >> christa: okay. let's head outside and check out the conditions on the came. >> sarah: nicole oliverio is in sandwich where they're expecting blizzard-like conditions. sure does look windy where you russia nicole. >> nicole: it is. the winds has been consistent here coming off the water all morning long. as you can see, snowflakes are getting thicker. we're now starting to see the snow stick to the ground. and kris was talking about the high tide at 11:00. take a look behind me and you can see the waves are really crashing now. definitely the white foam cams coming closer to shore here where minor flooding could be an issue, but really the winds are we're talking about most likely power outages here in the cape as we remain under that blizzard warning. winds will be able to take down tree limbs along those power lines and that's what's going to cause the outages. so even though right now may seem like it's okay to drive on the roadways because the snow isn't so bad, it's still the wind that's going to be creating the problems here on the cape at least for next several hours. sandwich, nicole oliverio, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: we have strong winds clearly and the high tide could cause flooding on the south shore. there is a concern there. so let's head to scituate, a place where they have seen some really dicey weather winters past. here's 7's victoria warren. >> victoria: they know it can get bad here, so they are prepared. the snow just started falling about 20 minutes or so ago. we have been dealing with those intense winds, gusts up to 60mph. take a live look here at the's behind me. you can see it's an angry ocean this morning, and it's inching high tide here around 11:00 a.m. and in years past they've had to do things like voluntary evacuations of this area. folks who will river here, they know and they are prepared because what's going the happen is there will be some moderate flooding. that water can go into basements. people will end up losing their power and end up losing their heat. so when you add with that with a winter storm, it becomes a dangerous situation. we're monitoring it right now. the snow just starting about 20 or so minutes ago. they are under the blizzard warning here in scituate and that's not so much a snowfall total, but because when the snow starts falling with intensity, you add to that the wind and the cold weather. there's going to be close to zero visibility out here. we'll watch this situation as this storm develops, but again, everyone is watching that high tide, which is predicted to come in right around 11:00 or so this morning. live this morning in scituate, victoria warren, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: state police are asking people to stay off the roads later today so crews can work. i believe marshall hook is in plymouth with our traffic tracker. marshall? >> marshall: indeed. lovely, his for cal downtown plymouth on route 3a. you can see the wind is blowing quite a bit. it is very windy and the visibility questionable even here on what is undoubtedly a surface street. we were along the ocean, victoria's angry ocean before. and she's absolutely correct. the waves are out there, white capping all over the place. so winds are going to be a problem, whether you're on the wherever. it's going to be a visibility question. the one good piece is so many schools are closed. we're not looking at a lot of traffic out there and danielle gersh here to tell us more about that. marshall. let's head outside. take a look. this is the expressway. it typically does not look like this around 8:30 on a monday. you can see some of the snow starting to fall in that picture there, though. let's go to the maps. the hov lane still will not open today on the expressway weather. still only ten minutes from route 3 looking pretty good. no delays to tell you about on route 24 or 95 either. let's head to the pike. you can see, mostly green as you head into boston eastbound on the pike. no delays there. 93 southbound from lawrence over 128 into boston. looking good as is route 1 this morning. take a look at those drive times if you're getting ready to head out the door this morning. a quick drive on the expressway, ten minutes. so it's not bad yet. into town from 128 on the pike, 12 minutes. 93 southbound, 128 to the zakim bridge, that drive 11 minutes. if you're taking "t," we have about 15-minute delays on the haverhill line so far this morning. back to you, guys. >> christa: danielle, thank you. also if you're flying out today, massport is urging you to call ahead to make sure your airline, check in with them and make sure you flight hasn't been canceled. several flights have already been canceled this morning. >> sarah: also all state offices east of worcester county are closed and non-emergency employees are being told to just stay at home. >> christa: so do be careful don't forget, we'll be back with "today in new england" at 9:00 we'll see you then. things. like this is your life. is it true you are a tattoo artist? >> i wouldn't say artist. i would say, i've done tattoos on a good friend of mine and a
