we have those stories as a part of today in new england. it's kind of chilly it's after all the end of january. it's true, have to tell you where the lows are to the morning lows, it's warmer than a cement truck four hours after getting tangled up in power lines. the crash sending crews to the street to try to restore the power. it wasn't safe for the driver to get out of the truck. we have the details. >> reporter: a cement truck dangerously draped in a web of wires. he finished a job five houses down. he was headed home when his truck hit the low hang hanging lines. >> i started to crack, i hit the brakes, i looked over and there was the pole. >> reporter: neighbors in the neighborhood say their power >> everything -- it's like a long blink. >> reporter: joe quickly called for help knowing how dangerous it was for him to be caught inside. >> everything in this truck is metal. i stay where i am ors three >> reporter: three hours after being initially trapped, joe was able to get home. as crews worked to get the neighborhood back online. you make sure that the wires are not going to hit the truck, but when you're on the street, they're not supposed to be that happen. >> reporter: susan tran, 7 news today in new england. a teenager behind bars after he made a braise escape from custody yesterday. the teen had to be hunted down by officers after he was picked up after a massive sweep of gang members and weapons. >> an 18-year-old ms gang resident. gabriel perez is so dangerous that police were warned. perez escaped federal custody after being rounded in a sweep. law enforcement from several agencies swept the neighborhood looking for the known gang member. he ran off in handcuffs wearing an fbi t-shirt that read female body inspector. he was arrested in everret waiting for a bus still in handcuffs. one of reasons we were able to apprehend this individual, is because of the close relationship have with the community. their community. >> reporter: how he managed to escape is still under investigation. >> the bottom line is we were able to get this suspect, and i'm sure the federal authorities will conduct a complete assessment of pair operations. on 7 scary moments for a 5-year-old girl who was inside of a school van when she was she was found crying in mattapan. now we're hearing from that girl's family. we have the story. >> reporter: the family of the child involved did not want their face on camera, but says the 5-year-old girl was picked up at 5:30 headed to paige academy in rocks burgee. >> that is when they heard my niece screaming and she was crying. >> reporter: the 5-year-old was discovered by those strangers walking by when they heard screams coming from the bus. >> she was frightened, cold, hungry. >> reporter: the family says they are outraged and have tried to contact the bus company themselves for the entire afternoon. the company finally answered the phone and apologized. >> they put all the children after the school, and the person only person, where she was sleeping, and they never checked the bus. the family of a marine killed in hawaii thanking the community for their support. corporal and 11 other marines are presumed dead. a massive search followed but no survivors were found. orlando was 23 years old, his family arrived back in massachusetts and they were given a police escort to hingeham. people in town lined the street waiving flags to show their support for the family. on friday the family issued a letter saying in part we were deeply moved by the tremendous shove support upon our return to massachusetts. the people's all ages who lined the streets holding flags and signs of support in silence and respect for christopher and us, we will be edge in our minds forever. developing story out of california, the manhunt for the man who broke out of jail heating up today. police think that two of those fugitives are still in this comes after one of the men surrendered to headed there for the weekend. as we look ahead, it's not a lot of cloud cover to talk about. we will call it partly sunny as we get into the afternoon. overnight tonight, clouds increase and stick around with us. that helps to keep the temperatures mild into tomorrow morning. the 7 on 7 forecast for today. partly cloudy for 2:00 p.m. highs near 40 degrees, and while that is cool, i guess you could say compared to what we have been seeing. those temperatures into the 50s, it's still above average for this time of year. highs today upper 30s for worcester, bedford as well. 41 for boston and into tomorrow, how about we add about for boston, 51 for norwood. 50 for plymouth as well. that system 7 inches to the north is dragging a warm front with the cloud cover, switching the flow to come out of the southwest and that helps to boost the temperatures up. we do fall back a touch on tuesday as that cold front rushes through, but this is only for one day, very mild as we head into dangerously draped in a web of power lines. the cement truck got caught up in low-hanging wires and knocked down the utility pole. power shutdown for many residents in the area as they tried to make repairs and save the man. utility drivers had to remove the pole before they could get the driver out of the truck. after she is found a all alone in the school bus. this little girl was found on friday by strangers when heard her screaming for help. now the family is speaking out. they are outraged that the driver did not check the bus. on 7, we're learning more about a police involved shooting in lynn. officers say they were forced to fire at a man who pointed a gun at them. that man was shot by police during a chase yesterday. and we have the latest. >> you think that the cops said put the gun down, put the gun down two times and then i hear the shooting. >> reporter: neighbors describing frant frantic moment as police shoot a suspect, they said, had a gun. >> it sounded like firecrackers, and it went pop, and then pop,-pop. >> i saw half of his body lying out of car and halfway in. >> reporter: they were executing five outstanding warrants at 8:30 friday morning. they were looking for is wanted for violating mull tip multiple restraining orders and threat. >> he had repeatedly violated it in last two weeks. >> he said that he had a gun and would kill them. >> reporter: mcclain pointed a gun at an officer as he took out a window. shortly after just do you want road, mcclain reportedly turned his gun on an unsuspecting driver. >> he ordered the female driver out of the vehicle at gunpoint. as the officer approached the vehicle, he pointed his gun at them, that is when three of the officers started firing. >> there was blood everywhere. >> he was pronownted where he pronounced dead. more news today. strangers stepping in to stop an armed robbery. it happened at 7-eleven, at brookline friday morning. that is when two people in the store sprang into action. they grabbed the robber and restrained him until police arrived. there were two additional customers in the store who actually ceased the individual with the box cutter and held him until police arrived on scene. that clerk was take tope the hospital with cuts on -- taken to the hospital with cults otherwise forehead and nose. the suspect is expected to be facing charges. a car slips taken to the hospital. has a leg injury but he will be okay. sometime equipment was damaged but it's back to normal on frid. >> anytime someone loses control of a motor vehicle especially in a tight place like it could turn out to be much worse than are really. 7 news now, an appeal has been filed in the boston marathon bombing trial. lawyers are filing this appeal yesterday. the exact grounds of the appeal have not been released yet. but it's expected that the defense will appeal that the trial should not have been held in boston. two of the people held for yesterday. they remember charged with obstruction of an emergency vehicle. the judge sentencing them to six months of probation, with 60 were protesting police voinls. they violence. a local non-profit held a water drive on friday to help people exposed to lead poison water in flint. they were giving cases of water at the roxbury ymca. volunteers will drive all the way to michigan to deliver that clean water. water sample for more 40 degrees, and when you consider that normal for this time of year would be 36 for a high in boston, this is looking very mild. for tomorrow near 50 for most spots, and it just keeps getting better
