M. , officers with the drug unit, pulled over a known, drug suspect, driving on a suspended license and he came out firing. As soon as he got out, he started to shoot before the chase was even on and so i am provoked and again, with the officers not having any of their weapons out, and from what i understand. And he was shot. All units shots fired. In the backyard. Black male, wearing a blackjack elt and a red hoody. I just saw the guy, running, and i heard the shots and seen the guy running through the yard. Anchor 27yearold, hedly who was patrolled less than a year ago. Sometimes i hear that from timetotime and i didnt pay no mind. Reporter the injured officer took the quick action trying to stop the bleeding, he tried to put it on himself. He tried to do it initially, because all officers have it but then a fellow uniformed officer who was nearby heard the call and he tied it off. And helped him. And that was, that was fortunate. The officer was rushed to Boston Medical Center and we are threatening. We have a suspect, running in, and 24, is out there. As the Police Chased the gn man, a nearby, het start, program went into lock down and the parents went to get the kids after hearing about the shooting. I am scared and every whemd frments the other officers, caught up with him, and tackled him and arrested him. Could you tell us if there are any other suspects . Just one, we got him. All right. Mayor, walsh went to check on the young officer and praised the restraint, shown by the officers under fire and warned anyone who would consider, targeting Boston Police. We are not going to tolerate, anyone going after the Boston Police department. Their job is to protect, the community, and protect, the neighborhoods and that is what they do every single day, day in and day out. This is now, the second time in the last nine months a Boston Police officer has been shot in the line of duty last march and another officer was shot in the face, also, during a traffic stop.
