right? the temperatures are close to 70 on christmas eve and 50s today and what about the long range? we have snow in the forecast here in vineland, new jersey, home of progresso, we love all kinds of chicken soups... but just one kind of chicken. it's white breast meat chicken every time. because white breast meat chicken releases its flavor into the broth and absorbs more flavor from it. and in vineland, it's all about flavor your own chicken soup tonight, do what we do...make it >> a couple of temperatures haven' t moved much tonight and 45 right now in boston. 41 in worcester and the light rain showers have moved on for the little bit of sleep across ontario, new hampshire. mainly central new hampshire and a little snow across northern new hampshire and northern maine. that will continue to be case up that way down in southern new england to the commonwealth and nothing but rain showers walking on in. a couple of towns to the northwest of worcester and earlier this evening. but nothing of the sort in terms of any travel worries in terms of any snow or ice tonight. then working through about 2:00 in the morning and 9:00 in the morning and after that it' s midafternoon and it' s mainly dry and even a couple of breaks of sun out there on sunday and it' temperatures well into the 50s and especially south of the city of boston. at 5 p.m. a couple more shades of green and the shower through with the sporadic at best and that' s the cold front and going to get into colder air beginning late tomorrow night. and 46 overnight tonight and areas of fog likely to develop late, too, as we get steadier rain to work on in late and a few showers lingering into early in the morning with the fog and most of the showers early in the day though we could get another shower late in the day. the coolest temperatures near 50 north and near 60 down to the southeastern mass. we are far enough north and down into central canada and back through hudson bay and chilled below zero. and some of that cold air is pressing down and it' s we' ve seen and it' s that storm system back into texas and continues to push off to the north and to the east. it is quite a bit of moisture that works into the colder air to break out of the onset of tuesday. as early as 2, 3, 4:00 in the morning and i think between 7 and 11 in the moker morning from southwest to northeast and to that sleet and autohard to keep that and plain old rain with that transition over to rain and down to the southern shore with the quick turnover of rain to the north and west of boston. 1- 3 and going to northwestern county and up towards middlesex county and southern new hampshire right to the coast line and up to 3- 6 inches of rain. travel on tuesday and the worst in the morning hours should be fair in the afternoon as the roadways for a lot of us are just wet by then. could get a few showers late on wednesday into early thursday and by new year' s eve in the s eve temperatures at midnight running close to 40 . >> all right, looking a little more seasonal there. tom brady making a little girl' s christmas wish come true. the pats are spending time with hayley stewart before the team left for new york earlier today. now this 8- year- old from maine is battling cancer. she said it was her dream to meet the nfl super star and you can see from the photos big smiles there during the meeting. big smiles on both their faces and what a great thing to take time to do that with her. >> reporter: coming up next in 7 sports, injuries continuing to dominate the 2015 headlines for the patriots. the latest news ahead and the bruins can move into first >> anchor: the only thing separating them is themselves and from the players and most of whom are now back and the injury bug doesn' t seem to go away. it appears both danny and joey are out for sunday and the same goes for the pats top 2 safeties. devin mccordy and active against the jets. met life stadium for more this. >> and then it is going for the patriots, excuse me, are looking to sweep the season injuries against the jets and lock up the top seed in the afc. then it hasn' t come easy and have been decided by 7 points and viewers and the match up coming down to the wire and needing the rally. then it is going to do the trick and leading to the 30- 23 win. then it' s brady expecting another tough test this week. >> it' s been a big challenge and going to start having really good players and then it' s really well coached this year. then it is going to the things they do that' s challenging and it is tough but we' re grinding through it. >> and then it' s this watch and playing twice and feel like and we know them a little better and that is what makes it a close game when we play. >> and when it comes to the divisional rivals we know we' re in for another nail biter here at met life stadium. live at med life stadium, back over to you. >> thank you, alex. we' ll recap the game on sports x tra. it' s the winter classic one- on- one with pete and that' s all on monday night football. it seems like just yesterday the b.u. freshmen with the final time for the garden and following the terrier heartbreak and also seems like just yesterday when the bruins open to 6 and 1 with the first place in the atlantic. and then it is going to the championship game and 3 different times at b.u. and down 1- 0 in the second and score two goals in just over a minute and then it' s 3- third and going to answer big time. and two goals with less than 40 seconds apart and then going to the 10th of the year and tied at 3 and continuing to swing with a few minutes later and jamie begins with the empty netter and then it is the win by the final 6- 3. the celtics try to go with the 3- game losing streak and up 5 now and bradenton open in the third and johnson back with the injury and looking good and the hook shot there and 99- 93. celtics get the win. that' s it for sports. energy supply rates keep going up and down. any more than you do. it doesn't mean more money for us. it means that the market price of the energy we buy for you has changed. so we're working with partners across the region to increase our natural gas supply and bring in affordable, clean hydropower from canada. we're leading the way toward the solution... because more energy means lower energy supply rates for you.
