With temperatures in the 50s later today. It has been windy but the wind will drop off later today. It will be extremely windy but there will be a breeze. There is a bit of rain showing up on the radar but its not necessarily reaching the ground here in our area. Today, 56 degrees. It has not been that warm in all of 2014. You have to go all the way back to november 17th to find a day warmer than this. Tonight we begin to cool off. We will have the chance of snow coming tomorrow night. Not a huge storm. Another warmup comes after that. Today will be a good one. Lets check on traffic. Things are going so well and then you throw that snow back in. It never ends. We have a few things happening early. Crash are the western working to clear. We have continuing row work on 290 the eisenhower heading inbound, one lane blocks for work at the morgan street bridge. Its all scheduled to be picked up at the top of the hour. We start with some breaking newsfirefighters are battling a big fire at 2917 west irving park road. We are hearing it is an auto body shop. is a tactical officer. An exceptional officer he has received 245 awards from the department. He is out of the hospital. Police believe one of the people taken into custody was the shooter. The officer and others went to a home near east 92 just before 9 00 p. M. Executing a search warrant in a narcotics case. The suspect named in the warrant lives in the basement of the building. While inside the house someone fired in the officers direction the bullet ricocheted and hit the officer in the for head between his eyes. A fragment is lodged in his forehead. He was taken to the hospital and transferred to northwestern memorial. The superintendent says the officer who was 34 years old has been on the force for 11 years and was days. He was talking and in good spirits. Investigators recovered a weapon at the scene. Shots were fired within the residence by an offender. We are sure we have that person in custody we just have to sort through the people to make sure we got the right one. The officer comes from a family of

are on paid leave after shooting and killing a man. It happened after the officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a home near maple lane and hemlock drive just before noon yesterday. Officers say a man was on the driveway with a knife. Police say they tried to subdue him, but he tried to cut the officers and was shot after he refused to stop. Illinois state police are investigating the shooting. The mans name has not been released. There is still no sign of that missing

The archbishop of new york denied pope francis supports civil unions. Marriage is between a man and a woman but he said the church should look at different cases. Dolan said the pope simply wants to look into reasons why more and more states are approving civil unions and gay marriage. Two drivers in california were stung by more than 600 bees after their cars crashed into a tree. Two cars collided in a minor accident sunday afternoon. At least one of the cars hit a tree dislodging a large bee hive, releasing thousands of bees. Authorities say the women were attacked as they were exchanging insurance information. The 51yearold woman, ran to the back of a home nearby and jumped into a swimming pool. She waited there until paramedics arrived. The 17yearold fell driver to the ground and was soon covered in bees. She looked like she had been stung in the face. Her arms and legs, everything exposed was stung. When i first came out she was just sitting there crying and screaming and panicking and didnt know what to do. I just reacted and grabbed the hose and sprayed her off. Both victims taken to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not coming up. But a check on the weather. Right now we have the day after daylight savings beginning. In the town of nederland , just up the mountain from boulder, club ned will offer pot smokers a place to hang out, instead of smoking weed in public. Chicago Police<\/a> officer was shot in the head while serving a search warrant on the citys far south side. Judy wang is at the 4th district with more. The
Police Superintendent<\/a> says the officer based here in the
Fourth District<\/a> is an exceptional officer. He has received 245 awards from the department. He is out of gospel. Police believe one of the six people taken into custody was the shooter. The officer and others went to the home just before 9 00 executing a search warrant in a narcotics case, the suspect name in the war to live in the basement of the building. While inside the house, someone fired in the officers direction. The bullet ricocheted and hit the officer in the for head between his eyes. A bullet fragment is lodged in his forehead.
