hospital for head injuries. chicago police arrested the suspects shortly after the attack. chicago rapper chief keef will stay out of jail despite prosecutors attempts to put him behind bars for his own safety. keef, whose real name is keith cozart, appeared in juvenile court yesterday. cook county prosecutors say he violated probation in a gun case and asked a judge to put him in juvenile detention. they fear keef could face retribution for last month's fatal shooting of rapper "lil jo-jo". he has not been implicated in the death but police are investigating if the shooting stemmed from a war of words between the singers. the judge did not order keef to be detained. coming up tonight on the wgn news at 9 - frank holland takes a closer look at chicago's rap music scene and its influence on violence in the city. a man from bangladesh is in custody in new york on charges of plotting to blow up the federal reserve bank. his name is quazi mohammed rezwanul ahsan nafis he came to america on a student visa, and studied cybersecurity at southeast missouri state university. new york police say nafis loaded what he thought was a bomb into a van, parked it outside the federal reserve building, and planned to detonate it remotely with a cellphone. and the new york times says, nafis briefly considered a plot to kill president obama. nafis was caught after the f-b- i got wind of the plot and arranged for him to buy a fake bomb. president obama has chosen a chicago venue for his election night rally. win or lose, obama plans to spend the evening at mc-cormick place. this victory rally in 2008 drew more than 200 thousand people to grant park. mc-cormick place is a much smaller venue. since it's indoors, there's no risk of rain, and much less risk of a security problem. chicagoans will get a chance to see a debate between the third- party candidates in the race for the white house. larry king will moderate the debate between libertarian candidate gary johnson, green party candidate jill stein constitution party candidate virgil goode, and rocky anderson of the justice party. it will take place next tuesday october 23rd at the chicago hilton and tower. the debate will also air on ora t-v the internet t-v network that carries king's online talk show. next at noon hundreds of names are made public from an investigation into sexual abuse cases within "the boy killed some of bin laden's top supporters. mohammed could face the death penalty if he's convicted. there are new questions as to whether the u-s consulate in libya was adequately protected. reuters reports the u-s state department hired an obscure british contractor to handle security. the security firm blue mountain hired guards who were armed only with flashlights and batons no firearms. security experts said the firm is virtually unknown. congress continues to investigate how militants were able to attack and kill four americans at the consulate last month. the teenage girl shot in the head and neck by the taliban for speaking out against the extremist group remains in stable condition and is making progress. doctors in england say 14 year- old malala yousafzai spent a third comfortable night at queen elizabeth hospital. they wouldn't comment on reports she is moving her limbs. the taliban opened-fire on her and two of her classmates as they made their way home from school in pakistan's swat valley. she was targeted for writing a blog that described the brutal life under the group's rule. greece's financial crisis has triggered another general strike. protesters hit the streets of athens today over demands by foreign lenders for deeper budget cuts. this protest turned violent when crowds threw gasoline bombs and stones at police and officers responded with tear gas. it's greece's 20th national strike since the debt crisis developed two years ago. more than a quarter of the country's workforce is unemployed and the country is due to run out of money next
