A massachusetts native is dead after a shoot out at that Colorado Springs planned parenthood. The reporting this man, gary swasey grew up in melrose, he leaves behind a wife and two children. Swasey was a member of the university of Colorado Police department. Swasey went to the clinic to help after learning of the shooting. Two other People Killed in the violence this morning. The gunman in police stud after a six hour stand off. It has planned parenthood around the country on high alert. Stephanie coueignoux is live from the boston planned parenthood this morning, as police have spent the night patrolling the area. Reporter increased security at this planned parenthood is in response to the shooting in colorado. Right here behind me, you can see a Police Officer parked just outside of the building. Planned parenthood of massachusetts telling us they are working with police to make sure Safety Measures are in place. And were also continuing to learn more about officer Garrett Swasey the 44yearold, as we told you, grew up in melrose. And according to the boston globe, he went to Melrose High School. He eventually moved to colorado where he and his wife had two children, a son, 11yearold, and a daughter who was six. Swasey was on campus at the university of colorado in Colorado Springs when that shooting happened. And he immediately responded. And also new this morning, gunman as robert lewis dear. Its a little hard to see, but this is video of Police Taking deer into custody after that standoff. He is 59 years old. Police still this morning trying to figure out what his motive was. This all started yesterday afternoon when police say deer walked into the planned parenthood and started shooting. Three people died, including swasey, the two other victims were civilians. At least is 11 people were shot, including five Police Officers. And this morning, they are in good condition. Were also continuing to learn more about swasey. Reporter Greg Sullivan of the Pioneer Institute which has been studying the green line project says one bidder means no competition, no incentive to control costs. The mbta did not open expansion to bid, instead it shows the company that was designed and constructed. The light mill project, is four and a half mile extension of green line tracks near cambridge.
