It comes in the wake of a federal lawsuit filed in part by a boston woman, who says she was raped by an uber driver. Im not passing the buck, but once they act on it, then we can do more regulations. Our hands are tied to some degree in the city as far as putting regulations in place. The lawsuit is filed on behalf of two women, it accuses uber of neglect and fraud, saying ubers negligence, fraud, misleading statements and other unlawful actions caused plaintiffs satellites, which humiliated violated and robbed victims of their dignity. A woman used the service to get a ride after a night out with friends in september, and was sexually assaulted, and the suit claims uber targets women who have been out drinking and the background checks dont go back far enough. The mayor says those concerns could easily be alleviated by action on beacon hill. I would love to see action on it, so we can begin regulations and make sure we have safe modes of transportation for anybody who takes uber, lyft, taxicab, whatever it might be. Uber sending us a statement, read, weve been in close contact with the bpd since the allegations were reported and have been proactively providing information to them that has helped with their investigation. Sarah Wroblewski<\/a>, and sure enough, it has been a breezy and mild day, winds over 40 miles per hour, in some locations, but know, its turning to be a very wet evening and conclusion to the day. In fact, we knew that we were going to see strong winds as well as the possibility of heavy rain, even some thunderstorms, and thats what were experiencing right now. As a cold front to the west will continue to push eastward, clear us out overnight tonight, but right now, we are dealing with some very wet roadways out there, thunderstorm down across groton, connecticut, too, we mrs. M. , a two mile stretch of trees down on silver street. So im sure theyre likely continuing to pick up from that damage, in fact, two foot diameter industries and wires, so just take it easy if youre going to be traveling out that way. That same system, that same cell, is now pushing eastward, along 495, and approaching now the 128 deadham area. Youre seeing those darker shades of yellow and red, so i wouldnt be surprised, to not only deal with the heavy rain, but we could have possible strong wind gust as that rain is. Coming on down, so something to monitor over the next hour, has these this area of showers is pushing eastward at about 40 miles per hour. So likely be off the coast over the next hour, but still, just take precautions. Darker shades of yellow, also down along the south shore, p town too, but plymouth and as you head back towards rhode island, so were going to continue to watch as the rain pushes to the east. Although we have pockets of heavier downpours in is seabrook, new hampshire, were starting to see drier conditions out toward milford and keene, new hampshire, so that will be the story overnight tonight. The showers will come to an end, theyll push off the coast over the next couple of hours, and by later on this evening well be drying out and clearing out. Winds out of the southwest today will turn out of the northwest and it will be much cooler. In fact, well be talking about temperatures tumbling back into the low 40s through the interior. Mid to upper 40s along the coast, 50s for parts of the cape and island. It will still be breezy when you wake up tomorrow morning, so a chilly start to your day. The winds will peer lacks out of the northwest, relax out of the northwest, but highs well below the average of the mid 60s. Tomorrow, bright, but looking at temperatures only in the up are 50s to lower upper 50s to lower 60s. As for your sunday, were going to deal with sunshine, but if youre going to be traveling to the cape and islands, youll start with the 50s on saturday. Mid 60s by sunday.
