>> i just looked at him and smiled and showed him and he just looked at me a double take and i pointed at him and he left shoot with the hoodie and bandanna covering his face. >> he just kept saying give me the money, give me the money. i had some choice words for him and he left. >> reporter: the mother of four got this bowing knife months ago. in her 17 years she tells fox 25 this has never happened to her. don't do it. simple as that not my. i chose mine i work do something about your life. she has a daughter in college. the suspect's description he is just about 5'4" 180 pounds and seen wearing a black hat with the letter p it on. if you know anything you are asked to call manchester police. tonight a woman is dead and a baby and toddler in the hospital. result 20 was closed for most of the day opening up before 7:00 tonight. fox 25's jim morelli joins us live with what we have learned about that stretch of road. jim? where these two deposits were transported after this horrific crash one of several that have happened along this stretch of route 20 right across the street cross. neighbors tell us this is not an uncommon sight. deadly. but this one is the worst i have ever seen. about 8:30 this morning a collision on route 20 in oxford on a corner locals know as deadman's curve. it's like dynamite my house shook. that the result of a car hitting a surface large and unforgiving a cement truck and the consequences heartbreaking. a 31-year-old woman there sturbridge dead, an eight month-old on life support and a 2-year-old severely injured. state police say the car chevy cavalier triggered the the eastbound lane into the west. it and was struck by an s.u.v. got -- >> this neighbor who wished talked with the cement driver just after the crash. >> i seen the truck lying down and i seen the truck somebody. the guy was a wreck. he wasn't old he wasn't that old he was a younger guy. >> reporter: in fact he was a younger guy the cement truck driver was 34 years old. he was injured as well as the two people in the s.u.v. however, none in a life-threatening way. we don't know what caused this crash. we don't know why the woman drifted over into the other lane but one possibility might be solar glare but the thrug is we will likely never know. but the truth is we will likely never know. a judge orders a boston woman to undergo a mental health evaluation after prosecutors say she shot and killed her own uncle in hyde park. dozens of family members showed up in court for the arraignment the 36-year-old is accused of shooting clive francis. the relatives say they never thought that she was capable of murder. >> why would do you something like this. her attorney says she has not communicated since her arrest. she's being held on a 20 day hold for psychiatric evaluation is due back in court on november 16th . police in hudson are trying to track down two suspects who allegedly stole an elderly woman's wallet. officers say a man walked up to an 89-year-old woman shopping and distracted her while another woman walked up and took her wallet out of her purse. anyone with information is urged to contact police. police track down a vehicle but are still looking for the drive in a deadly hit-and-run crash in saugus. we told you tonight at 5:00 about the discovery of that vehicle. a 33-year-old new york man was hit and killed while trying to cross route 1 late sunday night. police initially said a red or clark colored vehicle possibly a mercedes-benz was responsible. the driver took off from the scene. crews are cleaning up and clearing debris tonight. we know what caused a massive home explosion in taunton. state fire marshal ruling that the gas explosion was an accident linked to home repairs. the owner of this house had removed a gas shutoff valve while fixing a hot water heater. she was able to escape the thousands without being hurt. fire investigators say homeowners should always have plumb plumbing, heating and electrical system repairs done by a licensed professional. tonight boston police are investigating after a car hit at least one person on western ave in brighton. police tell fox 25 they responded to reports of two people hit around 6:15 tonight but say only one person was in fact hit. the damage to the car is significant but officers say the pedestrians pedestrian's injure -- pedestrian's injuries are not thrive threatening. 20-year-old milton native moussa sandy was a student at the university has been charged in the sexual assault. this is video from his arraignment today. the victim reported the crime on friday and officers morning. police say sandy is known to the victim. he released on $5,000 bail and is due back in court in january. the gas leak in uxbridge forcing several buildings to be evacuated today. it happened this morning on north main street. crews were working on a water main project and struck a gas line that resulted in a small gas leak and five yearny buildings were evacuated. ever source responded to the scene and shut off the gas line and everyone was allowed back inside about 20 minutes later. >> there are questions tonight about whether the mbta should be making money off draftkings ads when the straight still hasn't decided if it should regulate the industry. fox 25 found ads all over south station. this week the gaming commission is meeting to talk about whether sites like draft kings should be regulated. we asked governor charlie baker what he thinks about the ads? we tried last week and again tonight a few hours after we learned of the arrest. the only comment remains no comment. the new technology is out there that gives a clearer view of what a police officer sees when he draws his gun. it's called the sentinel and it's a camera that can be mounted on the barrel of a gun that activates when it's pulled from its holster. the company that makes it says it's a great alternative to body cameras and arms and other objects can block their view in an incident is unfolding. >> the view would be obstructed with the hands of my weapon out. you get first person point of view as the officer sees it as the incident unfolds. >> the sentinel records audio and video and streams headquarters because it doesn't record anything before the weapon is drawn. the company says it's best used alongside other camera systems. the sentinel hopes to have its product in police departments starting in january. the question of how officers make the determination to open fire has been in the news frequently since the shooting of michael brown. you can go to myfoxboston.com to see how difficult that decision is a storidy in april called shoot, don't shoot. new at 11:00 a south carolina school resource officer is suspended. take a look at this video that's shot officer slamming a student onto the ground at spring valley high school today in columbia. the richland county sheriff says that the officer was removing a student who was disruptive'7_ and refused to leave class. turning now to the skies and if you can get a glimpse of the moon it is worth a look. isn't that a great shot. check thought video. the moon is especially big and bright tonight. kevin a clear sky also is bringing some chilly temperatures. >> no doubt about it. a freeze warning in place check this out. this is 128 right here also known as 95. the mass pike running right through here right through westin we're 30 degrees right now. then out to 495 here everything in between the two. look at this concord 32, wayland at 33. cold temperatures right? go beyond 495 you will find more of the same. this takes you off to the north and west up toward northern worcester county to southern new hampshire even into southern vermont. 38 right now. some cold temperatures to be sure that's even colder on the sea coast than you saw there in southwest new hampshire. we have seen newton, new hampshire drop down to the 20s now it's 28 towns down to 30 in newburyport. i will take you out to cape cod where typically it's milder but tonight very cold. temperatures dropping below freezing here, too east harwich is at 30 right now. now orleans right at the water at 30 degrees. if you are in cape cod or martha's vineyard where the to 27 already in the center of the island that's where the freeze warning is tonight. for those of you still growing something. nan tunth may survive this one but it's the -- nantucket may survive this one but it's the freeze warning. rest of will you be freezing too but have you had your freeze your growing season is already over. clear tonight clear through the morning sunshine through lunchtime. clouds will continue into tomorrow night. that's the harbinger of what's coming next. here's some of the high temperatures tomorrow 56 for new arlington,a 55 boston and 57 in braintree tomorrow afternoon. on the south shore cold temperatures right now. now let's fast forward into what's coming up next. all the way down the coast you see this swirl that's what's left over of hurricane patricia believe it or not. still has some punch to it a lot of heavy rain and some gusty winds. nothing like it was when it came into mexico of course but still that's what's headed our way this rain pushing up the coast along a front that's coming our way and some gusty winds that will come along it with. showers in here early wednesday afternoon. tomorrow is that sunny day this is tomorrow night clouds working in and wednesday the rain starting to work in. then heavy rain starts to move in during the tail end of the evening drive. some of the heaviest rain is poised to come across with this system. it will produce one to three inches of rain around here and produce some gusty winds as well. we'll have a lot to watch for as this storm system approaches wednesday and thursday. the good news is we have another day to watch it closely and be prepared for it. there it is wednesday into thursday. smears good news it will be out of here early enough thursday that everything will dry out in time but it will be mild for that patriots game in gillette stadium thursday night. as far as friday sunshine and breezy conditions. let's talk about that week more closely in view. temperatures are going to be in the 50s both days. remember we get an extra hour of sleep and how about halloween. thinking temperatures will be around 50 around 5:30 in the evening when the sun is going down and drop down through the 40s. it will be dry you just have to bundle up a little bit. i wrote a little bit about that on our facebook page if you want to check it out. sunday into monday when the next rainshowers will arrive will after. so overall that storminess wednesday and thursday will be the big news this week that comes with warm tropical air but heavy downpours that could cause make sure you check with sherry first thing in the morning for the latest timeline. >> i got an update on the nfl's appeal in the tom brady case. briefs have been filed so the u.s. court of appeals in new york and the twitter avatar that most certainly got the attention of a certain three time super don't poke the bear. leah: i just was thinking any minute could be the minute. and the minutes kept passing. we both kind of relaxed and thought, "she'll come when she's ready."
