They believe the car crashed before going up in flames. It was found just off the highway in a ravine. They were able to put out flames and not save the driver or passenger. This right here a horrific scene in vermont this weekend. A wrong way driver hit and killed five High School Students there. That driver didnt stop though. Police say he stole a Police Cruiser and kept ongoing Emergency Responders were called to the scene in vermont just before midnight thats located a few miles outside of burlington. Police say stephen was driving a pickup truck north on the southbound side of i89 when he slammed into a car. That car burst into flames. And police say all five teenagers inside it died at the scene. They were reportedly High School Students on their way home from a concert. The first officer was trying to put out the fire when po officers cruiser and sped off with the lights still flashing. When an officer tried to stop him off the road he turned around and once again raced the wrong way down the highway in the stolen cruiser. The storm has killed at least 18 people in the United States, including eight in North Carolina alone. Authorities there still searching for five others. Right now matthew is about 200 miles east southeast of Cape Hatteras with a maximum sustained winds of near 75 Miles Per Hour. But looks as though most of the steadiest and that trend will continue overnight along with clearing skies as you can. Worster and fitchburg in keen we are noticing the temperatures dropping into the mid40s as the sky begins to clear out of a bit. So well watch for that trend move from left to east overnight tonight. Future cast shows that pretty nicely. Its also those winds out of the north from High Pressure be building on in that will allow for those clouds to break apart. So when you wake up tom its going to be bright a few clouds for the outer cape blustery out there.
