>> crews will be working throughout the night in concord cleaning that up tornado damage. our chief meteorologist kevin lemanowicz is breaking down the strength and the path of the storm. but we begin tonight with christine mccarthy who is in concord where some homes christine, still don't have power. that's right, and the clues are gone for the night. a stack of chopped up trees are waiting to be picked up in the morning. before that you can see flashing lights that's where crews are restoring cable and internet. around the corner from here the hardest hit area by this tornado residents are still awaiting all power to be restored. the clean up will take days but the disaster itself an e,f-1 tornado only taking seconds to tear down power lines and damage 39 homes in concord. >> it lasted more than a minute that would be pushing it. it really sounded like a were ripped from the ground early monday morning in a path carved 400 yards wide and a half mile long cleared by 100 miles-per-hour winds. >> we're blessed, absolutely. nobody got hurt. >> reporter: a tree smashed through the greenhouse at nearby millbrooke farm another job for tree removal. >> the wind lifted the tree right out of the ground and just in. >> reporter: governor charlie baker navigated down wires and strewn branches. >> the one that had the gas line underneath it. >> reporter: baker shook hands, met homeowners who awoke at 3:00 a.m. to cell phone alerts. the governor even stopped in awe to snap some pictures himself. >> anybody who dodged doubts the if you are you why and precision of mother nature just needs to take a walk >> reporter: but with no deaths or injuries caused by the furious winds residents are feeling grateful. >> i think in many ways we all got hugely lucky on this one. >> reporter: now only one home sustained structural damage and again no injuries during the tornado. however, concord police tell me that one man a worker was injured during the cleanup process. they tell me that he and some others were working on feeding a bundle of tree into a chipper when one of them popped bun and hit them in the head. we're told he was rushed to leahy clin but and thankfully he was groggy and talking on the way. >> chief meteorologist kevin lemanowicz joined shiri spear to cover the tornado. long day four kevin. >> shiri spear was on the air right away. forecasting as well. this is a storm we're talking about right here. that's the one pushing through concord. had a little notch in it. that's something we look for on radar for the potential for some spinning out there. this is a storm a little closer view is about to come into concord the notch is right up in here this is the tale of it. we saw and thought let's take a look at the velocity scan and indeed, all this red is wind going into your tv screen the green is coming out at you. be some rotation. there let's look at this three dimensionally. from the cloud to the ground and you can clearly see the red and green next to each other here. often a little gap in here that would be the zero line. in, out and the zero line now you can connect the dots and you clearly have a circumstances. that was the tornado touching down 3:19 this morning that's how we were able to tell on radar that that is a radar out there. >> kevin as you know that fast moving storm also brought heavy winds and one never touched down there. crews did spend much of the day cleaning up downed trees and power line. we found some of the worst damage on walker street. the power was in that cased out there for a few hours school parking lot. makeshift memorial has started where the woman died. fox 25's crystal haynes live in lowell where police say the investigation remains active. it remains unclear if the driver will truck was pulling up and he didn't like with where he parked. >> reporter: witnesses say this food services equipment truck backed over 70-year-old claudia norman dean in the parking lot around 11:00 this morning. >> he reversed hit the lady and was saying oh, like what are you doing you just hit that lady you just killed that lady. >> reporter: norman dean was pronounced dead on scene. dozens of witnesses were in the area. the school -- you wonder when their families are thinking. it's a bad experience. >> reporter: her friends and neighbors at her apartment building less than a mile away from where she died are stunned. >> nice, nice, nice person, every morning go to the store to buy her things. >> reporter: elizabeth and maa say claudia was on her way to the grocery store when she died then she would usually sit with them outside. today they sat without her. >> it was hard. >> reporter: we were unable to contact claudia's family tonight. meantime residents in that neighborhood where this happened say that they're concerned for the dozens of children that live in that apartment complex and use that parking lot. more on that coming up at 11:00. for now reporting in lowell, i'm crystal haynes, fox 25 news. >> a 3-year-old boy is in critical condition and a 2-year-old girl is still hospitalized after a near drowning in lowell over the week. the preschoolers were pulled from a pool at a birthday party at frida lane on saturday night. at the time both were unresponsive and the girl's condition has improved they new video tonight showing a patriots fan bold get away charged with robbing at knifepoint a woman studying to be a nun of her rosary beads. the incident took place down civilian clothes and was just out for a walk when the two suspects approached. one carrying a knife. >> reporter: mother olga tells me that the victim showed the suspect her rosary pocket and her rosary beads then she says this case took a twist that she can only explain by her young police say was the lookout she released on personal recognizance. both women due back in court in quincy, bob ward, fox 25 news. a big win for wynn resorts. the city of somerville is dropping its legal fight against the casino and neighboring everett. the city will not appeal the state's decision to issue wynn a key environmental permit. today was the deadline to appeal. the two sides have now. and the federal appeals court says tsarnaev's lawyers must file an argument to spare his life by october 3rd. tsarnaev's lawyers argued he should be spared the death sentence because he was under the spell of his older brother. legal advocates are pushing back against a court ruling that would make the sexual history of a murder victim public. 19-year-old lizzi marriott of westborough was killed in 2012 while a student at u.n.h. her murder was convicted and sentenced to life in prison but is now appealing that decision. the new hampshire state supreme court ruled information about marriott's sexual history that had been sealed should be ma attorneys will continue their fight in court next month. the victims of the deadly 2012 meningitis outbreak will not have a chance to speak in quincy court. state police arrested mckinnon on saturday after a female lifeguard using the staff bathroom noticed a green light coming from a corner. >> upon further examination she realized that light was coming from a pen. >> reporter: police say the pen was actually a camera and had been recording the lifeguards using the restroom. images they say mckinnon's face was caught on camera, too there is a video of the individual placing the camera based on the forehead that's depicted in that video several people have identified that individual. >> mckinnon has been a park ranger for d.c.r. for more than a decade. today the park was closed as investigators there met with staff. >> any message for your victims? >> mckinnon and his family remain silent of the allegations him. kathryn burcham, fox 25 news. in a statement the spokesman told fox 25 they are deeply disturbed by these allegations and remain committed to assisting the state police as they continue their investigation. has been one year since their granddaughter died from a suspected heat stroke while in foster care. diane says she calls the worcester county district attorney's office weekly to investigation. >> they haven't got a clue what happened. >> reporter: she she lived in this foster home. months after her death a d.c.f. report obtained by fox 25 suggested ava may have been left in a hot car while in the care of her foster mom kim or mallpass' report, neither provided any reasonable explanation. and what really happened to ava remains a mystery. >> i want justice. i want the truth. i want the past fines in the company's record. tonight fox 25's malini basu spoke with the limo company's owner. >> reporter: we're here at attleboro. he is still trying to figure out how the two women fell out of the window. for the first time we are getting a look inside of the actual party bus involved in sunday's accident where one woman died and another was hospitalized. fox 25 spoke exclusively with the general manager. he doesn't want to be identified because he feels it will hamper the investigation. very group of people. >> reporter: boston police got a call saying two women had been hit on the highway on that bus were 20 old high school friends who rented it out so they could party. >> the driver was probably doing about 45 miles per hour and within just one minute it just happened within one second. >> reporter: a woman who was on that bus told fox 25 yesterday that two women fell through a window while it was traveling down the and said to the driver we think somebody just fell out a window and the driver pulled over and they jogged down the street for about half a mile until they finally found them. >> reporter: the general manager says that bus has windows which are pictured here. the only way the women could have a financial out. >> somehow this handle would have to have come up and you know that handle also for the window to open. >> reporter: the manager tells us each and every bus them saying emergency exit. another woman on the bus tells fox 25 they tried to open the window to get some air in and that no alarm went off. the bus driver and entourage on board told investigators they had no idea what happened. >> we feel horrible. we're at a loss for words. >> reporter: the general manager also tells us the last time the bus was inspected was two months ago and it passed inspection. conservative driver and has a "squeaky clean driving record." boston police are not releasing their names we have much learned that one of the victims has been released from the hospital. for now we are in north attleboro tonight, malini basu, fox 25 news. breaking news boston police are investigating a sex assault in the southend. that happened around 1:00 this morning near greenwich park and claremont street. a woman says a man approached her on a bike threatenedder when a knife then sexually sauled her in the area of call police if you know anything about the crime. florida's governor hosted a roundtable discussion with community leaders in south florida today if fears over the zika virus continue to grow. there are at least 36 locally transmitted cases of zika in florida. the state's department of health will set aside $5 million in additional funding for zika preparedness. also for mosquito control in the miami area. the governor >> crews will be working throughout the night in concord cleaning that up tornado damage. our chief meteorologist kevin lemanowicz is breaking down the strength and the path of the storm. but we begin tonight with christine mccarthy who is in concord where some homes christine, still don't have power. that's right, and the clues are gone for the night. a stack of chopped up trees are waiting to be picked up in the morning. before that you can see flashing lights that's where crews are restoring cable and internet. around the corner from here the hardest hit area by this tornado residents are still awaiting all power to be restored. the clean up will take days but the disaster itself an e,f-1 tornado only taking seconds to tear down power lines and damage 39 homes in concord. >> it lasted more than a minute that would be pushing it. it really sounded like a were ripped from the ground early monday morning in a path carved 400 yards wide and a half mile long cleared by 100 miles-per-hour winds. >> we're blessed, absolutely. nobody got hurt. >> reporter: a tree smashed through the greenhouse at nearby millbrooke farm another job for tree removal. >> the wind lifted the tree right out of the ground and just in. >> reporter: governor charlie baker navigated down wires and strewn branches. >> the one that had the gas line underneath it. >> reporter: baker shook hands, met homeowners who awoke at 3:00 a.m. to cell phone alerts. the governor even stopped in awe to snap some pictures himself. >> anybody who dodged doubts the if you are you why and precision of mother nature just needs to take a walk >> reporter: but with no deaths or injuries caused by the furious winds residents are feeling grateful. >> i think in many ways we all got hugely lucky on this one. >> reporter: now only one home sustained structural damage and again no injuries during the tornado. however, concord police tell me that one man a worker was injured during the cleanup process. they tell me that he and some others were working on feeding a bundle of tree into a chipper when one of them popped bun and hit them in the head. we're told he was rushed to leahy clin but and thankfully he was groggy and talking on the way. >> chief meteorologist kevin lemanowicz joined shiri spear to cover the tornado. long day four kevin. >> shiri spear was on the air right away. forecasting as well. this is a storm we're talking about right here. that's the one pushing through concord. had a little notch in it. that's something we look for on radar for the potential for some spinning out there. this is a storm a little closer view is about to come into concord the notch is right up in here this is the tale of it. we saw and thought let's take a look at the velocity scan and indeed, all this red is wind going into your tv screen the green is coming out at you. be some rotation. there let's look at this three dimensionally. from the cloud to the ground and you can clearly see the red and green next to each other here. often a little gap in here that would be the zero line. in, out and the zero line now you can connect the dots and you clearly have a circumstances. that was the tornado touching down 3:19 this morning that's how we were able to tell on radar that that is a radar out there. >> kevin as you know that fast moving storm also brought heavy winds and one never touched down there. crews did spend much of the day cleaning up downed trees and power line. we found some of the worst damage on walker street. the power was in that cased out there for a few hours school parking lot. makeshift memorial has started where the woman died. fox 25's crystal haynes live in lowell where police say the investigation remains active. it remains unclear if the driver will truck was pulling up and he didn't like with where he parked. >> reporter: witnesses say this food services equipment truck backed over 70-year-old claudia norman dean in the parking lot around 11:00 this morning. >> he reversed hit the lady and was saying oh, like what are you doing you just hit that lady you just killed that lady. >> reporter: norman dean was pronounced dead on scene. dozens of witnesses were in the area. the school -- you wonder when their families are thinking. it's a bad experience. >> reporter: her friends and neighbors at her apartment building less than a mile away from where she died are stunned. >> nice, nice, nice person, every morning go to the store to buy her things. >> reporter: elizabeth and maa say claudia was on her way to the grocery store when she died then she would usually sit with them outside. today they sat without her. >> it was hard. >> reporter: we were unable to contact claudia's family tonight. meantime residents in that neighborhood where this happened say that they're concerned for the dozens of children that live in that apartment complex and use that parking lot. more on that coming up at 11:00. for now reporting in lowell, i'm crystal haynes, fox 25 news. >> a 3-year-old boy is in critical condition and a 2-year-old girl is still hospitalized after a near drowning in lowell over the week. the preschoolers were pulled from a pool at a birthday party at frida lane on saturday night. at the time both were unresponsive and the girl's condition has improved they new video tonight showing a patriots fan bold get away charged with robbing at knifepoint a woman studying to be a nun of her rosary beads. the incident took place down civilian clothes and was just out for a walk when the two suspects approached. one carrying a knife. >> reporter: mother olga tells me that the victim showed the suspect her rosary pocket and her rosary beads then she says this case took a twist that she can only explain by her young police say was the lookout she released on personal recognizance. both women due back in court in quincy, bob ward, fox 25 news. a big win for wynn resorts. the city of somerville is dropping its legal fight against the casino and neighboring everett. the city will not appeal the state's decision to issue wynn a key environmental permit. today was the deadline to appeal. the two sides have now. and the federal appeals court says tsarnaev's lawyers must file an argument to spare his life by october 3rd. tsarnaev's lawyers argued he should be spared the death sentence because he was under the spell of his older brother. legal advocates are pushing back against a court ruling that would make the sexual history of a murder victim public. 19-year-old lizzi marriott of westborough was killed in 2012 while a student at u.n.h. her murder was convicted and sentenced to life in prison but is now appealing that decision. the new hampshire state supreme court ruled information about marriott's sexual history that had been sealed should be ma attorneys will continue their fight in court next month. the victims of the deadly 2012 meningitis outbreak will not have a chance to speak in court. a federal judge ruled victim estimates will not be heard. the majority owner pleaded guilty to financial charges along with her husband. they are set to be sentenced in november. the learned today in court that it was that very same camera that led police right to him. accused of secretly videotaping women ray mckinnon counselled himself on the other side of the camera lens today in quincy court. state police arrested mckinnon on saturday after a female lifeguard using the staff bathroom noticed a green light coming from a corner. >> upon further examination she realized that light was coming from a pen. >> reporter: police say the pen was actually a camera and had been recording the lifeguards using the restroom. images they say mckinnon's face was caught on camera, too there is a video of the individual placing the camera based on the forehead that's depicted in that video several people have identified that individual. >> mckinnon has been a park ranger for d.c.r. for more than a decade. today the park was closed as investigators there met with staff. >> any message for your victims? >> mckinnon and his family remain silent of the allegations him. kathryn burcham, fox 25 news. in a statement the spokesman told fox 25 they are deeply disturbed by these allegations and remain committed to assisting the state police as they continue their investigation. they haven't got a clue what happened. >> reporter: she she lived in this foster home. months after her death a d.c.f. report obtained by fox 25 suggested ava may have been left in a hot car while in the care of her foster mom kim or mallpass' report, neither provided any reasonable explanation. and what really happened to ava remains a mystery. >> i want justice. i want the truth. i want the past fines in the company's record. tonight fox 25's malini basu spoke with the limo company's owner. >> reporter: we're here at attleboro. he is still trying to figure out how the two women fell out of the window. for the first time we are getting a look inside of the actual party bus involved in sunday's accident where one woman died and another was hospitalized. fox 25 spoke exclusively with the general manager. he doesn't want to be identified because he feels it will hamper the investigation. very group of people. >> reporter: boston police got a call saying two women had been hit on the highway on that bus were 20 old high school friends who rented it out so they could party. >> the driver was probably doing about 45 miles per hour and within just one minute it just happened within one second. >> reporter: a woman who was on that bus told fox 25 yesterday that two women fell through a window while it was traveling down the and said to the driver we think somebody just fell out a window and the driver pulled over and they jogged down the street for about half a mile until they finally found them. >> reporter: the general manager says that bus has windows which are pictured here. the only way the women could have a financial out. >> somehow this handle would have to have come up and you know that handle also for the window to open. >> reporter: the manager tells us each and every bus them saying emergency exit. another woman on the bus tells fox 25 they tried to open the window to get some air in and that no alarm went off. the bus driver and entourage on board told investigators they had no idea what happened. >> we feel horrible. we're at a loss for words. >> reporter: the general manager also tells us the last time the bus was inspected was two months ago and it passed inspection. conservative driver and has a "squeaky clean driving record." boston police are not releasing their names we have much learned that one of the victims has been released from the hospital. for now we are in north attleboro tonight, malini basu, fox 25 news. breaking news boston police are investigating a sex assault in the southend. that happened around 1:00 this morning near greenwich park and claremont street. a woman says a man approached her on a bike threatenedder when a knife then sexually sauled her in the area of call police if you know anything about the crime. florida's governor hosted a roundtable discussion with community leaders in south florida today if fears over the zika virus continue to grow. there are at least 36 locally transmitted cases of zika in florida. the state's department of health will set aside $5 million in additional funding for zika preparedness. also for mosquito control in the miami area. the governor toured a middle school on the first day of class to reassure parents that the state is working to fox 25 has learned some boston area researchers are hiring lobbyists in washington to help get funding for zika prevention efforts. we dug through lobbying disclosure forms and found m.i.t. and the dana farber cancer institute have paid money to lobbying firms to advocate for money related toa during the paf few months. -- during the past few months. 39-year-old romeo of chelsea is accused of driving drunk and drifting into where he sideswiped a vehicle. the crew told police a worker was standing temporarily blocking to public schools that they must allow transgender students to use the bathroom they identify with. the obama administration sent out the directive in may. this decision comes as
