reporter: michelle was with her 9-month-old daughter when she pulled off red brook road in fremont to photograph the foliage near the river. after takingle little girl out of the car and putting her in the stroller, she went back into the cadillac to grab her out, the suv was gone. >> it lunged forward. >> reporter: originally she thought she may accidentally knock the shift near drive, but the police officer said simpler than that. >> she got out and she failed to put the vehicle into park. it was in drive the whole time. she is lucky that it didn't roll sooner than it did. she was able to get out -- get her child out of there and a cup of the other belongings she had with her. >> reporter: the feet from shore. a tow truck of water had a wade into the chilly water to attach a rope to get the vehicle out. one vehicle totalled by water, but thankfully the mother and baby safe and sound. jordan purchased new tires and brakes for her suv but sees the bigger picture. she is thankful that she and her daughter are okay. when we visited her home she was waiting for an insurance the mbta tweeted thought video yesterday explaining that falling leaves can lead to train delays. the leaves make the train's wheels slip so the trains can go slower to make it safe. the mbta devotes a number resources including specialized train cars to clear the tracks. workers a you ply special
