morning. i want to show you a live picture the radar and the storm's path. fox25's jason brewer is in for shiri and he is in the storm tracker weather center tracking the timeline when the rain and strong winds will move in. >> jason: let's talk about it, daniel. right now hermine is down to the south and moving northward closer to us. the heavy rain is 30 miles away from nantucket at this hour. a 70-mile-per-hour storm. a powerful ocean storm with broad reaching winds outside of it. show you the up cle morning we drift throughout north and northwest at a 70-mile-per-hour storm. watch as we go forward in time. tuesday we see the weakening trend and we go back to the 50 to 45-mile-per-hour intensity. that is good news and out of here by wednesday into thursday and we are quieting things down and look at these tropical storm warnings for the south coast, cape and islands they remain in effect. wind gusts 45 to 50 miles per hour. track that potential 7 a.m. the vineyard. that tropical storm wind spreads on to the cape. possibly the south coast as well. and look at boston. wind gusts around 30, 35 miles per hour. and it will be breezy but nothing that will do any damage. wind gusts are tapering off late tonight into tomorrow. it will be breezy but not any damage expected with additional wind. right now we are looking at rain potential through 7 a.m. cape cod and the islands. by noon, a couple of showers could get back boston area. and it is the afternoon where you have a chance of getting that rainier about rupting your outdoor plans. temperatures upper 60s, lower 70s. scattered showers and the next couple of days we will be dealing with rain. much more straight ahead, daniel. >> daniel: thank you. >> the coast guard is preparing for any emergency calls they will get as it spins to the south. they are urging boaters to be stationed at woods hole to check wind conditions out to sea. they are telling boaters to secure them to the dock and make sure you have everything that you need. your equipment and life jackets and sound system and lights that are all working before you head out. if the weather will be too much for your boat and you don't need to go out ands unnecessary, don't go out. >> daniel: the coast guard is warning of swimming and the storm is nearby because povt tension alley life-threatening rip currents. head to the cape to keep an eye on the situation as it gets worst throughout the morning. expect a live report starting this morning at 5:00. people are relying on ferry service to get out of nantucket and martha's vineyard are facing the possibility that could be -- they could be stuck for a couple of days after boats cancelled service in the name of safety. we reported this all weekend long. the island ferry will to be in off trips between hyannis, martha's vineyard and nantucket. the steamship authority is considering falling suit. trips to and from oak bluff to the vineyard and we will let you know if it cancels service all together. to our south, hermine is taking aim at many places devastated by super storm sandy. beaches from the yearsy shore to nantucket are closed and residents are preparing for dangerous storm surge. further south, wide flooding in florida this weekend and large parts of the carolinas and virginia lost power. states of emergencies are in place up and down the coast and the crash involving a cruiser. it happened around 2:30 on north road and bourne. the bourne fire department tell station that the injuries are not life-threatening. new this morning, one person is thrown from a suv during a rollover wreck on 28 north. this was the scene after midnight in waltham near the exit near route 20. rolled over after colliding with one other vehicle. the victim had serious injuries but they are expected to survive. all lanes of 128 are back open. a police officer in framingham -- at framingham state university are now off the job and facing several charges. that officer is accused of committing a lewd act while on campus. he is also charged with witness intimidation. the officer is on administrative leave and has been banned from the school. he will be in court later this morning. we are following developing news. a small community remains on high alert as police search for crime spree suspect. police tell fox25's crystal haynes, the man should be considered armed and dangerous. >> reporter: state and local police converge on this gas station after high-speed police chase for a burglary suspect left police without an arrest for the third time. >> they immediately called off the and marlborough state police observed the suspect's motorcycle at the gas pump right over here. >> reporter: west boylston police say this man seen in surveillance images obtained by fox25 robbed the commerce bank on west boylston street handing the teller a note, and demanding money. he then took off on this tolen motorcycle and has since been seen in clinton, boylston, marlborough and in berlin, each time getting away. 1309ings of of this motorcycle with the suspect on it and pursuit was called off due to high speeds several time and we it not want to any showers sneak up around the boston area. so your labor day not total washout, but obviously we are covering the coast wall to wall because we have tropical the south coast, the cape and islands. to winds gusting 45 to 50 miles per hour. and those fees right now building, and they could get as high as 20 feet in those off shore waters. let me show you right now we are watching that water. the leading edge of the heavier rain 20 miles off of nantucket moving west and northwest around 15 miles per hour. so that's going to take it on to the island around 6:30 over to the vineyard by 8:00 in the morning and conditions to get wet and dreary and we will ethat deadyer shower activity hanging around for a better part of the day. the computer forecast model keeping this generally offshore and i don't expect a landfall not totally able to rule that completely out. and look at the west edge of the uncertainty is. right there around nantucket and looks like a brush to the worst of the storm for an island. and look at the water temperatures. i want to show that you real we will get up in the middle 70s as it goes down the road. we will see weakening of this and we are losing the support from the upper-level low that was over it and so i do think will start filling in and we are seeing the peak intensity of around 70 miles per hour right now, and that will last through a better part of the day today, and we will see the weakening. track the wave heights. and i have put it in motion because you can see the motion of the green colors. those are the largest seas. they are still to the out. right now 6 to 10-foot the outer cape approaching age intucket. to that is going to get -- approaching nantucket, so that is going to get worse and time goes on. temperatures are not bad. in the 50s to low to middle 60s and winds in calm in om inland pots. the sustained winds 20 to 25 miles per hour. the cape and islands right now. lock at the winds are gusting up to 32 in nantucket,
