end of the week. currently boston sitting at 69 degrees. we have mostly cloudy skies. we really don't have any significant showers in the city now. they are pretty close by. chances are if you were driving in from one of the suburbs. you will find the roadways damp. 69 degrees at 8 a.m. you can ea very slow and and likely will stay in the lower 70s there out toward the boston area. worcester at 64 degrees now. same situation. a lot of clouds and you might find things a little bit misty this morning and you will have a chance of a couple of spot showers through the day and the afternoon showers bringing inland towns and cities a slightly higher risk of the spot showers. temperatures go from the mid-60s early on. 10 a.m., 67 degrees. and lower 60s this afternoon. plymouth down to the cape and the islands. nantucket kind of taking on some of the heaviest of it. 72 in boston. 74 in lawrence. 75 in norwood and middle 70s. those lower 70s extending back to framingham and worcester. really no different for the cape and islands with temperatures in the middle 70s this afternoon. pretty uniform temperatures. this is our weather pattern 37 we have the stalled out system sitting to the south. pumping in a lot of moisture. the water. all of this is coming together and providing ongoing risk for a shower. 6 a.m., still have steadier showers from the outer cape as well the islands and they will be winding down and you find those showers are peppered through radar during the afternoon. the widely scattered nature of the activity today. both lunchtime and straight into the crash in the south end. police the cruiser at the intersection of harrison avenue and northampton street. it happened yesterday morning. the crash sent the cruise near a building as you see. both the driver and officer were treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. that intersection is a two-way stop and the driver told police he obeyed the sign before continuing into that intersection. the driver was cited for not yielding the right-of-way. 4:25 right now. a driver in another crash was also cited. this one happened in brockton a car and box truck collided sending a truck on its side and sending fuel. both drivers had h minor injuries. the woman in the car was cited for running a red light. a new-born giraffe is being treated for trouble nursing and standing. the female was born last week at franklin park zoo. the zoo said she needed specialized issues -- care for their issues. newborn giraffes usually the young giraffe is making progress but no word when she will be brought home.
