"when you have somebody that is caring about their own health, and will be willing to research it, and want to know. we want to talk to our patients about that and give them good information because there is a lot of misinformation out there, especially on the internet," says dr. le.but le says this method could be very dangerous if conducted at home."i would not do this at home on your own. peanut allergy can cause anaphylaxis and death and we wouldn't want that to happen to anyone's child," said le.in fact, le says her team at cox doesn't promote the method at all, due to a lack of information on the long term effects."the things that have been done about the landmark studies, like the 2009 one, they're not ready for primetime because we can't know what's going to happen to these kids in 10, 15, 20 the peanut product, but now instead of having anaphylaxis, they're just having swelling in the meantime, cox is alternative is avoidance, and carrying an epi pen and getting the most education you can, that was collin lingo reporting. experts say more testing and research will need to be done to determine an exact immunity to the peanuts. we're continuing to region. this is a live look from outside the wfxr studios near hollins. we'll check back in with jason and get an update on those power outages, when good day virginia returns. wfxr news welcome aboard my starship. ahoy, mateys! it's full of things i love... and my fellow space adventures and free of things i don't. like aliens. just like eye patches. and when it's time to refuel, i eat chex cereal. (vo) if you have type 2 diabetes, you may know what it's like to deal with high... and low blood sugar. januvia (sitagliptin) is a once-daily pill that, along with diet and exercise, helps lower blood sugar. januvia works when your blood sugar is high and works less when your blood sugar is low, because it works by enhancing your body's own ability to lower blood sugar. plus januvia, by itself, is not likely to cause weight gain or low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). januvia should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. tell your doctor if you have a history of pancreatitis. serious side effects can happen, including pancreatitis stop taking januvia and call your doctor right away if you have severe pain in your stomach area which may be pancreatitis. tell your doctor right away and stop taking januvia if you have an allergic reaction that causes swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or affects your breathing or causes rash or hives. kidney problems sometimes requiring dialysis have been reported. some people may develop severe joint pain. call your doctor if this happens. using januvia with a sulfonylurea or insulin may cause low blood sugar. to reduce the risk, your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of the sulfonylurea or insulin. your doctor may do blood tests before and during treatment to check your kidneys. if you have kidney problems a lower dose may be prescribed. side effects may include upper respiratory tract infection, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, and headache. for help lowering your blood sugar to the icy conditions across the region, the other big story is the high amount of people who are in the dark this morning. here are the latest outage numbers courtesy of appalachian power. roanoke county and franklin county now sit at 10- thousand customers without power. 28-hundred in the dark in henry county and just added henry county and in the dark in henry county and just added almost 1-thousand in also want to take some praticial steps if your power does happen to go out. stay away from all downed lines or sparking equipment. unplug major appliances to protect them when power comes back on. leave a on so you know when power is everything you need to k kw about life, u cacaleararfromomranola. keep it simple. make every piece count. let other people know what you're made of. always be e al. don't be fake, don't be artificial, but always be sweet. and of course, wear sunscreen. nature valley granola bars. >> all right, 8:00 now. still dealing with flood warnings with poor drainage flooding going on and if you can stay at home that is your best bet. good news though. the rain and freezing precipitation starting to come to an end across region as the storm continues to pull off to the north and east and get a break as we go through much of the day today and that chance to dry out. the quick-moving system to make its way through and overnight with the quick shot of rain and snow showers for some of us. temperatures should climb into
