Now were going to see patchy frost develop tonight. Its going to get even colder in spots so were going to go over that ahead our time going on 5 31 look at traffic and i4. Yeah i4 in Seminole County at 4 36 there was a trooper out here but they moved out of the way so no major issues along i4 that ive spotted but we do still have a crash in lake county. This is at state road 19 at county road 445 in altoona troopers have been able to get that crash off to the side but just make sure you do move over for them because they are still on scene. Jamie . Right now five people are starting their week dealing with injuries and damage from a pile up that shutdown obt. This morning they are wondering whose responsible for the crash. It was a mess. Witnesses say the driver at fault ran from the scene. Eye witness news this morning troopers overnight to ask if they have found that driver, kimberly. Reporter troopers wont tell us if they found the driver whose responsible or even if they are looking for that person. All they will say is that the crash that shutdown this busy intersection is still under investigation. This is just ridiculous. Victims like Heather Crawford are waking up to wrecked or totaled cars this morning and shes one of the lucky ones. Orange county fire rescue says five people left the scene of this six car pile up and went to the hospital with injuries. The only people who got away seemingly unscathed are the two who witnesses say caused the crash to begin with. The two guys actually were in the car ran off and ran away. Crawford and other drivers say the men are responsible for the wreck just before 6 00 last night but ran from the scene right after it happened. The crash shutdown the north bound lanes of Orange Blossom trail at carcona road as this could have been prevented very easily. Fhp will say only that the crash is still under investigation. This morning were asking if that investigation includes a search for the driver and his passenger who witnesses claim are responsible and if troopers know why they left the scene to begin with. And this morning were also looking into what charges those men could face if they are determined to be responsible for this crash. Daytona beach officials are still looking for a suspect accused in the deadly new years eve morning shooting. Now last night at 11 we told you they arrested another suspect who will go before a judge later today on first degree murder charges. Eye witness news this morning is live outside the Volusia County jail and that suspect was no stranger to police. Reporter well Jamie Anthony times before Daytona Beach police picked him up yesterday. Now hes facing those two first degree murder charges, the most serious in his criminal history. 30 year old dawson is acused of killing abele moral and Kevin Stanley outside the barts sports club new years eve morning. We were on the scene within hours of what less say started as an argument but turned into a gun battle and it took 11 days before less caught up with dawson, despite on the scene saying many people knew who opened fire. Okay so you didnt see anybody you just heard the gun shots . I heard the gun shots and came outside and i seen the guy there he was dead. I took a closer look into dawsons past and found he had been arrested on several drug charges, also battery and possession of a firearm by a felony. As he wakes up in jail this Morning Police are still looking for a second suspect andre mayo and were continuing to check in with investigators on the search for mayo as we you know what happens when he goes before a judge later today. We first told you as it was breaking yesterday on eye witness news at 6 00. 26yearold Samuel Torres was hit yesterday afternoon on the tracks north of the linx bus station there. Traffic on concordant amelia was shutdown for several hours. Its very sad. Its like who was that person . Im sure they had a family. Now amtrak told us the victim may have intentionally lied down on the tracks nearly 200 passengers were on board the train. Nobody else was hurt. The Marion County Sheriffs Office needs your help finding a man who they say tried to kidnap a woman. The 18yearold victim told investigators he hit her with a firearm and got help from some other women taking her phone this happened near spring drive in ocala last week. The victim was able to get away. On wednesday fdle will update a state lawmaker about the thousands of untested rape about. We read through a report that stated testing all of them could take between three and nine years and cost between eight and 32 million. Fdle found 9400 kits were not submitted and many Law Enforcement agencies say thats because the victims decided not to proceed with the case or the suspect plead guilty. An elderly couple in ocala who disappeared over the weekend has been found. 86 year old William Stevens and 80 year old Beverly Stevens were found saturday. They had last been seen friday night leaving northwest eighth place. Police say the couple is safe and sound. A Brevard County mother is facing several charges this morning after Melbourne Police say she drove drunk with four kids in her car. Jacquelyn tadrous was arrested saturday night near u. S. 1. Police say someone called them out of traffic and speeding. Mrs. Also say they found open containers of alcohol in her vehicle. She is facing dui and child neglect charges and was convicted of dui last summer. Developing in the race to the white house, the latest polls shows vermont senator Bernie Sanders is catching up to Hillary Clinton in some of the early Battle Ground states in a poll among likely caucus voters in iowa sanders and clinton are neck and neck and hes ahead of her in the polls in new hampshire. So far the Trump Campaign has not responded. State lawmakers are expected to discuss a proposal think week that would allow people with concealed weapons licenses to carry guns in airport terminals. Six cars slammed into each other and shutdown a busy intersection on obt last night but this morning only five drivers are left cleaning up the damage. Eye witness news this morning is live where eye witnesses say that driver responsible for the wreck ran from the scene. Reporter this morning ive asked troop turpitudes if they have any idea why that man would runaway from the crash at this intersection. This morning they will say only that wreck is still under investigation. It did shutdown Orange Blossom trail last night around 6 00. Firefighters say five people went to the hospital with injuries. The rest stayed on scene to cars. Victims say the driver responsible for all of the damage ditched his car and the scene before Emergency Responders showed up. Took off running. Covering Seminole County commissioners are expected to vote tomorrow on a proposal to give bear proof trash cans to low income families. Over the holiday break vandals broke into the warehouse where clothes were all being collected. School district Officials Say the damage was so bad thousands of donations had to be thrown out. Most of its now unuseable. Deputies were able to get fingerprints from a fire extinguisher and the vandals sprayed but so far they dont have any leads. One substitute teacher in Daytona Beach got so fed up with her students she said if a gunman came on campus she would let him in her classroom. A spokesman for Volusia County schools says the substitute 61 year old linda baker made those comments on thursday. The incident happened while baker was subbing at cherry t small elementary and she was off campus. Charges though. This week Osceola County residents will be able to meet with the finalists for the next superintendent of Osceola County schools. The current superintendent the current already had experience as superintendents. A Community Reception for the final its will be held this thursday at 6 15 in the afternoon. Well this week the orlando i will be open after being shutdown for annual maintenance. The attraction on International Drive is closed for the last few days. A spokesperson says routine maintenance is done overnight but crews get bigger work done over the annual check up. Since it opened the wheel has been shutdown several times for mechanical issues and it reopens thursday. Well this week will mark the start of the latest python challenge down in the florida everglades. During the last challenge in 2013, 68 snakes were caught. Scientists say there is still thousands of pythons out there though destroying native wildlife across the everglades and by destroying we mean eating them. Many are abandoned pets. We havent said that in about a year so here is a look outside now in Daytona Beach and a little bit of a breeze making it feel even colder right along the coast 45 here in Daytona Beach winds northwest at about five, 30s elsewhere were in the 30s now in Marion County and youll see a lot of 40s most of us in the 40s we have 50s in Brevard County but Volusia County were in those 40s and deland and cross creek and you get back through orlando at about 47, 45 now by the citrus tower and there are the winds out of the north making it feel colder and even though well see a lot of sun the clouds moving out this morning, the winds will stay out of the north. Were very cool today take a look at this 52 by noon, 56 by 2 00 and most highs today squeeking into the low 60s and that is it so a lot of sunshine on the way here is future track and well see clear skies right through tonight with that said temperatures to drop in spots further and here is one of our computer models we use to help forecast the temps and youll see the numbers by 2 00 today upper 50s to near 60 and by later today and through this evening youll see those temps just dropping and once we hit tomorrow morning, more in the way of 30s around for tomorrow morning so better chance of frost. At the beaches water temperature 63 to about 70 seas are elevated and a very strong risk of rip currents but i suspect not too many are calling it a beach day. 62 stays cool mostly sunny and youll see the temps northern sections well stay in the 50s today youll want a jacket this afternoon. Deland 57 just 61, st. Cloud harmony and then 30s and 40s tonight and again north and west of orlando go ahead and protect the plants dont forget about the pets tonight as well, it is going to be a chilly one north and west well see some of that frost developing by tomorrow morning. The weekend always in view 64 tomorrow and then a mini front rolls in again on wednesday kind of reinforces our chillier weather even colder wednesday morning and wednesday just 63 and gradually warmer late week on friday back into the 70s but just in time for another front a chance of rain on friday and that will take us from the 70s by sunday.
