suspect into custody. we're live to get the scene and you just spoke with someone who says he was in the same house as the suspect. >> he did, but a strange thing. he doesn't really know him. it appears the house behind me where the conflict began is sort of a room to room rental here so he says he really didn't know this 15-year-old but has seen him come and go from the house. the confrontation began writing frontier at some point. point. this is where the deputy was injured. he sped away in his car and marci pierce. she ended up on the hood of his car and then rolled off the car as the suspect sped away, injuring her head and a number of other parts of her body. she's in the hospital right now moments. we understand the we have a picture of this 15-year-old his name is john -- juan carlos ortiz. he and that -- pierce and a probation officer were trying to take him into custody for crimes he was wanted for. he did not want to cooperate and the sheriff says he deliberately ran down the sergeant. all morning deputies and officers from various agencies have been searching for him and the small white car he was driving. we believe it to be a honda. they have a number of vehicles like that in the area but have not located the car involved. they heard the event -- from blocks away. >> it sounded like nascar, tires squealing. like a high-speed chase. >> we understand they are considering the suspect dangerous. they said he has a violent track record including other altercations with officers, so they are looking for the sheriff jerry dimming spoke outside orlando regional medical center about the ongoing search for the 15-year- old suspect. janai norman posted updates on twitter as the sheriff spoke. he says several agencies are now. >> reporter: vanessa, right now sergeant marci pierce is still recovering at omc but the sheriff told us state troopers and orlando police have now joined his deputies in hunting down the suspect, 15-year-old juan carlos ortiz. >> this is sergeant marci pierce we learned has been with the orange county sheriff's office for more than two decades. sheriff deming says she's still in good spirits despite the injuries she got a few hours ago . >> she dismounted from the vehicle and received a significant head injury as well as apparently injuries to her >> now the search is on for this 15-year-old. sergeant pierce and a juvenile probation officer were looking to pick him up on four juvenile pick up orders, the equivalent of warrants. they say ortiz was behind the wheel of a white honda hatchback with black rims when he allegedly rams his engine intentionally running over sergeant pierce. >> he has somewhat of a violent history including interactions with law enforcement. >> we found out last october 15- charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing armed burglary, two grand theft charges and trespass. now he's in even more trouble wanted for more trouble wanted for assaulting a police officer. >> that's really the sad part of this -- 15 years old, already been in trouble with the law, and again today. >> reporter: the sheriff says and will work with the state attorney's office to make sure the -- that ortiz is prosecuted appropriately although when i asked he couldn't say whether the team would be charged as an adult -- the teenager would be charged as an adult. but again they believe he's in a white honda hatchback with black rims. janai norman, channel 9 eyewitness news. the search for a missing newborn girl police say was abandoned by her mother has now moved to an orlando pond. >> it's been nearly 4 days since police believe woman -- a woman gave birth in a parking lot. the baby's mother susan richardson is in jail and cooperating with the investigation. janine reyes is there and you spoke to people who were worried for this baby, even before she was born. >> marty, one woman stood with me right here along this crime scene tape the police just put up this morning, watching and not be found in this water. >> it's a disgrace. this is ridiculous. >> he works at this body shop and right outside his door orange counties dive team geared up to go into this body of water searching on day five for baby willow. his workers would often see susan richardson begging for money on at the 7-eleven just across the street from the retention pond. we told you thursday clerks at the store suggested investigators combed the pond. neighbors also thought it would be a good place to look. >> it's a pond over there they should be checking all back up in their. >> robin rountree would see brexton in this area all the time. >> how often would you see her here? >>just about every day. >> she gave birth monday. rountree called the mother over and offered to help. she asked me for a dollar and she -- i gave her a dollar and she left. two men on boats skimmed this pond and told me it's only about 4 feet deep. meanwhile robin just prayed. >> just praying that the baby is not in the pond. >> as you can see, this is a meticulous process for the dive team. they are taking one small step at a time in a line out there in the water, and we have seen them pull up tires, vegetation even trash, but so far no sign of baby willow. of course we will stay out here and keep you updated online. we will have the very latest at 4:00. for now live and orlando janine reyes eyewitness news. the man accused of murdering his wife and two children with -- withdrew their demand for a speedy trial. only after the judge said he the lawyer did by force because he didn't want to leave his jail cell. the lawyer told the judge he can voluntarily but he's accused of killing ms. juarez and her two children. his trial has been on hold as -- >> these are real people, real lives are being affected by what's going on but this is happening all over the state. >> no date has been set for his trial yet. his next hearing is on the 29th . it's a mild afternoon across central florida. even warmer weather headed this way for the weekend. brian shields is tracking the latest from severe weather center nines. >> yes we -- severe weather center 9. >> yes into this afternoon very pleasant temperatures, 74 for the high. partly cloudy skies and we will see more clouds along the coast because of that onshore wind that is with us. temperatures first -- you see the 70s around already. -- and 71 at daytona beach, waiting for weeks to come in at the -- readings to come in at the top of the hour. there's the breeze keeping us cooler at the coast. not as windy as yesterday but still 17th mile-per-hour winds over toward titusville. some of the guests will be over 40 mi./h. we get that onshore flow and it works in that marine layer and you see some of those clouds filtering in. especially flagler, -- volusia and bernard. warmer inland with more sunshine. we will take you through the great -- through the day. 70 degrees at 2:00, maybe breaks in the sun and clouds rolling in but you will stay near 70 this afternoon intercoastal sections. mid-60s by the time we hit 6:00 and just after that -- tonight we clear out further. coming up though we track that weekend, and an 80 degree weather returns to the forecast. marty? >>all right in you can always track the warmer weather for yourself at wftv.com /whether. --/weather. we pray this breaking news yesterday after a worker found a piece of a human skull and called deputies. kimberly eaton has been following the search today and kimberly, outside the woods investigators are looking for missing persons cases -- through missing persons cases as well. >> it could take months but they believe they found out link between the bones found in these woods and a missing persons case from 2014. they just ran depth of the day looking for the rough -- rest of the remains and indicators like clothing could help -- that could help indicate the persons identity. >> it's more than 24 hours since they started searching on red drawn -- don drive. investigators may already have missing person. it will take testing in time before they can confirm and identity but a deputy told eyewitness news there are indicators that they found this man, adolph gray. the 56-year-old man vanished after leaving volusia county jail in august 2014. he was considered a transient and has been arrested on misdemeanor. he may have left the jail a quarter of a mile away from today's search site and wandered into the woods. the same area where our records show -- but it wasn't until yesterday when a surveyor found a piece of the human skull that they again canvassed the area. since then they have focused in on a spot about 300 feet into the woods and under feet of water, where they could find more evidence that links to gray. until then the official word from volusia county sheriff's office is that the identity of the remains is still unknown at >> again in the last few minutes those search efforts wrapped up for the day. i asked investigators if they had any indication as to what caused the death of the person found in the woods and they said it's still too early to live and volusia county kimberly eaton eyewitness news channel 9. two brothers murdered in orlando on super bowl sunday and the killer is still on the streets. the new push by police and family to find the gunman. and how trump defended himself against the pope. and we will warm up this week. >> all right a boy committed crimes that were supposed to put him behind bars for life but he ended up getting out. what he's doing now with his 's central florida family says they lost thousands to a roofer who allegedly took their money but didn't do the work. in april 2014 she found a woods it -- a website with a roofing company who promised to build her roof in two weeks. he took $4000 but then stopped answering her phone calls. that's when they realized he didn't have a contractor's license. nearly 2 years later he faces charges for grand theft and contracting without a license. >> yes i am glad they caught up with him and he's arrested. we're happy for that. >> contractors are required to put their license number on construction permits. we put a link on the website to check a license at wftv.com /links. yesterday we told you that stephen somerville had just for a case that dates back to 1995. seminole county -- says he several years. the victim came forward a few years ago but didn't decide to press charges until this month. they don't believe there are any other victims. covering osceola county we will be checking with the school district to see if there will be extra security at the monday. there's no school today for osceola county students but there have been several fights at the school this week. a student recorded this fight in the locker room. another video shows a fight in the cafeteria. the school was placed on lockdown yesterday after a threat was made on social media. >> they were checking for weapons, guns, anything that they can find. >> police did not find anything during the search. school officials haven't said if any students involved in those fights will be disciplined . the florida highway patrol is cracking down on some drivers, but not speeders. the price you could pay for driving too slowly. responded to criticism from the family of two brothers murdered on super bowl sunday made a plea to try to help find the person responsible. one victim was to 16 years old. julie salomone has more on the family's plea for justice. >> reporter: detectives told me they still don't have the lead they need and now they are putting out these crime line posters asking if anyone has any information regarding how these two brothers were murdered, to give them a call. >> the family of antonio and christian jones say they cannot if -- accept the family -- the murdered. they added no one deserves to die like this. the two brothers, 134 and the other to 16 were gunned down on super bowl sunday at stonebridge reserve on robert trent jones drive in metrowest. detectives said the brothers got onto the elevator, got off on the third floor and were shot and killed at the apartment complex. nearly 2 weeks after the murders the family spoke out today. begging for answers. >> this is very important for us. we are reaching out to the community. please. we are pleading with you , we need your help. we need closure. >> detectives wouldn't comment on how many shooters they are looking for, or if the apartment complex had cameras. >> reporter: this shooting was one of several on super bowl sunday, including the nightclub shooting at wits -- where 10 people were hurt and two people died. >> julie salomone channel 9 in just one day south carolina voters will decide who they want to represent the republican party in the 2016 presidential race while the democrats will face-off in nevada. and the stakes are high on both sides. >> donald trump on "good morning america" sticking to his stance. >> we have to have the law. we have to have drugs stop pouring in. >> pope francis said anyone who is more interested in building walls rather than bridges is not a christian. >> he's got an awfully big wall at the vatican. >> it was probably inappropriate for him to intervene at the height of a contested primary. >> rubio campaigning again today with the popular south carolina governor nikki haley. haul ted cruz appeared -- with phil robinson in myrtle beach. worried his canadian birth will disqualify him. >> ted cruz has known about this for years and he could've done something about it. he didn't lift his little finger to do anything about it. >> hillary clinton is not going down without a fight. >> i am not just making speeches or promising free this and free that and free everything. >> here in south carolina polls show the race is not as close. trump has a double-digit lead with crews and rubio following. -- cruz and rubio following. many believe it could be a three-man race. columbia news south carolina. it's a nice warm sunny afternoon with even more warm temperatures this weekend. brian? suspect into custody. we're live to get the scene and you just spoke with someone who says he was in the same house as the suspect. >> he did, but a strange thing. he doesn't really know him. it appears the house behind me where the conflict began is sort of a room to room rental here so he says he really didn't know this 15-year-old but has seen him come and go from the house. the confrontation began writing frontier at some point. point. this is where the deputy was injured. he sped away in his car and marci pierce. she ended up on the hood of his car and then rolled off the car as the suspect sped away, injuring her head and a number of other parts of her body. she's in the hospital right now moments. we understand the we have a picture of this 15-year-old his name is john -- juan carlos ortiz. he and that -- pierce and a probation officer were trying to take him into custody for crimes he was wanted for. he did not want to cooperate and the sheriff says he deliberately ran down the sergeant. all morning deputies and officers from various agencies have been searching for him and the small white car he was driving. we believe it to be a honda. they have a number of vehicles like that in the area but have not located the car involved. they heard the event -- from blocks away. >> it sounded like nascar, tires squealing. like a high-speed chase. >> we understand they are considering the suspect dangerous. they said he has a violent track record including other altercations with officers, so they are looking for the sheriff jerry dimming spoke outside orlando regional medical center about the ongoing search for the 15-year- old suspect. janai norman posted updates on twitter as the sheriff spoke. he says several agencies are now. >> reporter: vanessa, right now sergeant marci pierce is still recovering at omc but the sheriff told us state troopers and orlando police have now joined his deputies in hunting down the suspect, 15-year-old juan carlos ortiz. >> this is sergeant marci pierce we learned has been with the orange county sheriff's office for more than two decades. sheriff deming says she's still in good spirits despite the injuries she got a few hours ago . >> she dismounted from the vehicle and received a significant head injury as well as apparently injuries to her >> now the search is on for this 15-year-old. sergeant pierce and a juvenile probation officer were looking to pick him up on four juvenile pick up orders, the equivalent of warrants. they say ortiz was behind the wheel of a white honda hatchback with black rims when he allegedly rams his engine intentionally running over sergeant pierce. >> he has somewhat of a violent history including interactions with law enforcement. >> we found out last october 15- charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing armed burglary, two grand theft charges and trespass. now he's in even more trouble wanted for more trouble wanted for assaulting a police officer. >> that's really the sad part of this -- 15 years old, already been in trouble with the law, and again today. >> reporter: the sheriff says and will work with the state attorney's office to make sure the -- that ortiz is prosecuted appropriately although when i asked he couldn't say whether the team would be charged as an adult -- the teenager would be charged as an adult. but again they believe he's in a white honda hatchback with black rims. janai norman, channel 9 eyewitness news. the search for a missing newborn girl police say was abandoned by her mother has now moved to an orlando pond. >> it's been nearly 4 days since police believe woman -- a woman gave birth in a parking lot. the baby's mother susan richardson is in jail and cooperating with the investigation. janine reyes is there and you spoke to people who were worried for this baby, even before she was born. >> marty, one woman stood with me right here along this crime scene tape the police just put up this morning, watching and not be found in this water. >> it's a disgrace. this is ridiculous. >> he works at this body shop and right outside his door orange counties dive team geared up to go into this body of water searching on day five for baby willow. his workers would often see susan richardson begging for money on at the 7-eleven just across the street from the retention pond. we told you thursday clerks at the store suggested investigators combed the pond. neighbors also thought it would be a good place to look. >> it's a pond over there they should be checking all back up in their. >> robin rountree would see brexton in this area all the time. >> how often would you see her here? >>just about every day. >> she gave birth monday. rountree called the mother over and offered to help. she asked me for a dollar and she -- i gave her a dollar and she left. two men on boats skimmed this pond and told me it's only about 4 feet deep. meanwhile robin just prayed. >> just praying that the baby is not in the pond. >> as you can see, this is a meticulous process for the dive team. they are taking one small step at a time in a line out there in the water, and we have seen them pull up tires, vegetation even trash, but so far no sign of baby willow. of course we will stay out here and keep you updated online. we will have the very latest at 4:00. for now live and orlando janine reyes eyewitness news. the man accused of murdering his wife and two children with -- withdrew their demand for a speedy trial. only after the judge said he the lawyer did by force because he didn't want to leave his jail cell. the lawyer told the judge he can voluntarily but he's accused of killing ms. juarez and her two children. his trial has been on hold as -- >> these are real people, real lives are being affected by what's going on but this is happening all over the state. >> no date has been set for his trial yet. his next hearing is on the 29th . it's a mild afternoon across central florida. even warmer weather headed this way for the weekend. brian shields is tracking the latest from severe weather center nines. >> yes we -- severe weather center 9. >> yes into this afternoon very pleasant temperatures, 74 for the high. partly cloudy skies and we will see more clouds along the coast because of that onshore wind that is with us. temperatures first -- you see the 70s around already. -- and 71 at daytona beach, waiting for weeks to come in at the -- readings to come in at the top of the hour. there's the breeze keeping us cooler at the coast. not as windy as yesterday but still 17th mile-per-hour winds over toward titusville. some of the guests will be over 40 mi./h. we get that onshore flow and it works in that marine layer and you see some of those clouds filtering in. especially flagler, -- volusia and bernard. warmer inland with more sunshine. we will take you through the great -- through the day. 70 degrees at 2:00, maybe breaks in the sun and clouds rolling in but you will stay near 70 this afternoon intercoastal sections. mid-60s by the time we hit 6:00 and just after that -- tonight we clear out further. coming up though we track that weekend, and an 80 degree weather returns to the forecast. marty? >>all right in you can always track the warmer weather for yourself at wftv.com /whether. --/weather. we pray this breaking news yesterday after a worker found a piece of a human skull and called deputies. kimberly eaton has been following the search today and kimberly, outside the woods investigators are looking for missing persons cases -- through missing persons cases as well. >> it could take months but they believe they found out link between the bones found in these woods and a missing persons case from 2014. they just ran depth of the day looking for the rough -- rest of the remains and indicators like clothing could help -- that could help indicate the persons identity. >> it's more than 24 hours since they started searching on red drawn -- don drive. investigators may already have missing person. it will take testing in time before they can confirm and identity but a deputy told eyewitness news there are indicators that they found this man, adolph gray. the 56-year-old man vanished after leaving volusia county jail in august 2014. he was considered a transient and has been arrested on misdemeanor. he may have left the jail a quarter of a mile away from today's search site and wandered into the woods. the same area where our records show -- but it wasn't until yesterday when a surveyor found a piece of the human skull that they again canvassed the area. since then they have focused in on a spot about 300 feet into the woods and under feet of water, where they could find more evidence that links to gray. until then the official word from volusia county sheriff's office is that the identity of the remains is still unknown at >> again in the last few minutes those search efforts wrapped up for the day. i asked investigators if they had any indication as to what caused the death of the person found in the woods and they said it's still too early to live and volusia county kimberly eaton eyewitness news channel 9. two brothers murdered in orlando on super bowl sunday and the killer is still on the streets. the new push by police and family to find the gunman. and how trump defended himself against the pope. and we will warm up this week. >> all right a boy committed crimes that were supposed to put him behind bars for life but he ended up getting out. what he's doing now with his 's central florida family says they lost thousands to a roofer who allegedly took their money but didn't do the work. in april 2014 she found a woods it -- a website with a roofing company who promised to build her roof in two weeks. he took $4000 but then stopped answering her phone calls. that's when they realized he didn't have a contractor's license. nearly 2 years later he faces charges for grand theft and contracting without a license. >> yes i am glad they caught up with him and he's arrested. we're happy for that. >> contractors are required to put their license number on construction permits. we put a link on the website to check a license at wftv.com /links. yesterday we told you that stephen somerville had just for a case that dates back to 1995. seminole county -- says he several years. the victim came forward a few years ago but didn't decide to press charges until this month. they don't believe there are any other victims. covering osceola county we will be checking with the school district to see if there will be extra security at the monday. there's no school today for osceola county students but there have been several fights at the school this week. a student recorded this fight in the locker room. another video shows a fight in the cafeteria. the school was placed on lockdown yesterday after a threat was made on social media. >> they were checking for weapons, guns, anything that they can find. >> police did not find anything during the search. school officials haven't said if any students involved in those fights will be disciplined . the florida highway patrol is cracking down on some drivers, but not speeders. the price you could pay for driving too slowly. responded to criticism from the family of two brothers murdered on super bowl sunday made a plea to try to help find the person responsible. one victim was to 16 years old. julie salomone has more on the family's plea for justice. >> reporter: detectives told me they still don't have the lead they need and now they are putting out these crime line posters asking if anyone has any information regarding how these two brothers were murdered, to give them a call. >> the family of antonio and christian jones say they cannot if -- accept the family -- the murdered. they added no one deserves to die like this. the two brothers, 134 and the other to 16 were gunned down on super bowl sunday at stonebridge reserve on robert trent jones drive in metrowest. detectives said the brothers got onto the elevator, got off on the third floor and were shot and killed at the apartment complex. nearly 2 weeks after the murders the family spoke out today. begging for answers. >> this is very important for us. we are reaching out to the community. please. we are pleading with you , we need your help. we need closure. >> detectives wouldn't comment on how many shooters they are looking for, or if the apartment complex had cameras. >> reporter: this shooting was one of several on super bowl sunday, including the nightclub shooting at wits -- where 10 people were hurt and two people died. >> julie salomone channel 9 in just one day south carolina voters will decide who they want to represent the republican party in the 2016 presidential race while the democrats will face-off in nevada. and the stakes are high on both sides. >> donald trump on "good morning america" sticking to his stance. >> we have to have the law. we have to have drugs stop pouring in. >> pope francis said anyone who is more interested in building walls rather than bridges is not a christian. >> he's got an awfully big wall at the vatican. >> it was probably inappropriate for him to intervene at the height of a contested primary. >> rubio campaigning again today with the popular south carolina governor nikki haley. haul ted cruz appeared -- with phil robinson in myrtle beach. worried his canadian birth will disqualify him. >> ted cruz has known about this for years and he could've done something about it. he didn't lift his little finger to do anything about it. >> hillary clinton is not going down without a fight. >> i am not just making speeches or promising free this and free that and free everything. >> here in south carolina polls show the race is not as close. trump has a double-digit lead with crews and rubio following. -- cruz and rubio following. many believe it could be a three-man race. columbia news south carolina. it's a nice warm sunny afternoon with even more warm temperatures this weekend. brian?
