Officers went to the home on meraposa drive yesterday when a man threatened to shoot some construction workers. Melanie holt listened to that 911 call and spent the day learning more about the suspect. It appears he had a background in Law Enforcement. Reporter among the online profiles we found for the suspect in this case was one for a business that he founded. Before his time here at this residence in palm bay he said he worked as a u. S. Army antiterrorism officer and had a job with v. A. Police Palm Bay Police still havent confirmed the name of the 38yearold killed in a deadly confrontation but the mans girlfriend said he was dimitri corcino. Security specialist and an army veteran with extensive military and Law Enforcement training. For the first time were also hearing the 911 call that brought police to the vets residence. He threatened to shoot us. He says, hes been out here all morning. The caller told police the man next door to her home seemed to be aggravated at the construction at her property. The caller also said the man making the threats may have been drinking and there was something not quite right with him. Corcinos girlfriend, who asked not to be identified by name, wasnt home at the time of the shooting but told Eyewitness News corcino had Mental Health issues including schizophrenia and ptsd. Chance to save his life. I was robbed of this chance. Police say her boyfriend was shot once by Corporal Jason mccoy after the suspect exited handgun. Reporter right now a clean up appears to be underway at the home that corcino shared with he checked his criminal history and found arrests for resisting, disorderly intoxication and dui. A West Melbourne man is being held on no bond after he shot his daughters boyfriend and struck her with the butt of the gun. Felix vera faced a judge on attempted first degree murder charges following the attack yesterday morning.
