times back and forth. he said he slammed the baby and kept slamming her. >> reporter: when steele returned, the 6-year-old told his mother baby kathleen was in distress. steele ignored the child and ran another errand before returning home. she realized something was wrong. >> instead of calling 911, she called a neighbor who was a nurse. >> reporter: it was clear to already dead and she called 911. the 6-year-old admitted what he'd done, even demonstrating it on a doll. thursday afternoon, deputies arrested steele. the 6-year-old and 3-year-old brothers are in the custody of child protective services. for abc action news, i'm cameron polom reporting. >> the sheriff says the 6-year- old boy won't be charged, but he will under go immediate counseling. he and his 3-year-old brother remain in a care for the time being. back in 2009, kathleen steele and her husband phillip were part of a tv documentary about women who fight their way through difficult circumstances to have children. after 12 years of trying, steele and her husband finally managed to conceive the boy accused in the attack. phillip admitted back then that he was worried. >> i'm nervous because kathleen's
