person he was in 2004. he continues to be obsessed by violent books, movies, and music by mass murders, serial killers. he has no insight or empathy for the victims and the prognosis for rehabilitation is poor.>> the first sentence had to be reconsidered after the supreme court ruled that juveniles could not get automatic life sentences. he was 14 at the time of the killing. gary has more from kalamazoo, michigan, with a man just faced a judge.>> reporter: for the arraignment this afternoon. one person not here was jason dalton. he was at a local jail, appearing by video link as the judge went through every charge. jason dalton appeared by video link at a county courthouse where he is facing six counts of murder.>> you understand the charges and the maximum sentences? >> yes. >> reporter: police say the \ber driver went on a deadly rampage in kalamazoo saturday night, randomly killing six and seriously injuring two others in three separate attacks. investigators say he began his shooting spree at an apartment complex where he shot a woman multiple times. tammy george came outside when she heard the gunshots.>> she was curled up in a ball asking about her kids. >> reporter: alton admitted he gunned down a man in his 17- year-old son at a car killed four more women outside a cracker barrel. dalton said he preferred to remain silent when the judge asked if he had anything to say. then the judge denied bail. police recovered the gun used in the killings. investigators are looking into weather -- whether he continued driving passengers. \ber's says dalton passed a background check and had no prior criminal history. dalton will stay behind bars at least until his next court appearance, set for early march. in kalamazoo, kenneth craig, cbs4 news. a fight breaks out at a florida pizzeria over garlic knots. it started after an order in palm coast friday. police say the woman demanded money back and did not like the way the waiter put the money back down on the counter. that's when the three men stormed into the restaurant cash register. they also through food and pizza boxes. a young woman is in a coma after the roommate she found on craigslist viciously attacked her, according to her mother. we want to warn you, you may find these images disturbing. danielle jones had been recovering at the trauma center since valentine's day. police arrested byron mitchell for attempted murder. he told investigators he and jones were in a relationship but her mother says he was a roommate she found after placing ads -- an ad on craigslist.>> i hope more than week, he wrote about driving on the turnpike in the opposite direction. miami beach leaders are setting the record straight on the planned convention center. they say residents have been receiving phone calls from an the group, which has ties to casino gambling, is allegedly making false claims about the project, including how it will be finance. mayor levine addressed the group's claims.>> the
