This is like this whole incident that happened thats been in the papers and stuff this is a dealbreaker. I mean, you know, to do Something Like that with your 4yearold child, whatever age your child is, right next to you and be part of it was what you and i said yesterday, before he discussed it publicly, we said thats going to be the dealbreaker. You dont do that with time, right . In that moment you are taking a picture of your kid and you know that as youre taking that picture youve chosen your urge or whatever it is over your child. Yeah. She took two of your favorite comfort foods, mac and cheese and chocolate cake, and transformed them from junk food to joy food. Yes, i did. We have countless submissions and challenges for mac and cheese. This one comes from sharon in florida and if you get it in a restaurant because of the big mound of white starch and the full fat cheese and cream and thats pretty phenomenal and i got creative. Here are the ingredients. A lot of traditional stuff for the sauce, the milk and reduced fat cheese, a little parmesan, but instead of the noodles im going to be using spaghetti squash. You do that a lot. You make that substitution. So what youre going to first do is either bake your spaghetti squash, nuke it in the microwave and save yourself some time. I love to do that. Or you can put it in the oven for about 45 minutes. And after its nice and soft you let it cool, and you just make scrape it right out. Scrape it right out. That looks easy. The longer you bake it or nuke, it i think that would be the easier it is, right . A lot of people have trouble cutting it, and all you need to do is put it in the microwave and soften it up for about four minutes. Then its soft, you can cut it, you put it back in and nuke it. Now, something very important. You want to use a paper towel. And youre going to blot the top to get some of the moisture out indulgent sauce you dont want it to get watered down. Okay. Now were going to make the sauce. We have in here half a cup of milk. Im using nonfat to cut calories. You can use any kind of milk. Not yet with that. Were going to put in some soy sauce, put in some hot sauce, a little bit of onion powder. Were those things dont add calories, do they . No. A little bit of butter does. That adds the flavor. Not the butter yet. Sorry. Having a bad day. This is about a quarter cup of milk with a tablespoon of corn starch, but you cls use any flour to thicken it up. Or you can use arrowroot. Just a little bit. Now you can put your cheese in, hoda. Thank you, joy. And weve got to add a little butter so theres just a tablespoon. Whoops. Ready, here we go. Not the whole thing. Exactly. This is going to thicken up nicely. Lets make believe its nice and thick after a couple of minutes and here we have it. Were now going to put it in the sauce, in with our spaghetti squash. Shell and cook it up. And then im using the shell as a vessel. So lets do all of this. Ill give kath a taste so we can try it and move on. One thing thats very important the cake which hoda really cares about. Topping this with broccoli parmesan breadcrumbs. Theres no starch in here. Its pulsed broccoli florets with a little bit of parmesan. You pop this into the oven. 370 calories. This entire thing. Heres the bea 370 calories for a hardy portion. 370, thats nothing.
