>> reporter: the sink hole beneath this gypsum stack opened august 27. it sucked 215 million gallons of radioactive water into the aqfe how deep was this go? no one knows for sure. the immediate concern. >> threat to the public. >> there is no threat to the public. >> reporter: the water was in a containment pool. it was used to produce fertilizer. the mission, contain contaminated water on detect traces. >> reporter: what's the plan to fix the hole? do what they did in 1994 and again in 2004 when sink holes opened on this property. inject a stabilizing cement or grout. fill the hole. the florida department of environmental protection is the lead government agency monitoring this incident. dep points out mosaic notified all the agencies but none of the agencies, the county commissioners for the dep bothered to notify the public. some wonder how they can possibly capture all the contaminants now in the aquifer. david says the recovery process will take years. >> if i the stray bullet killing a grandmother in june. they have charged 19-year-old tyre degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. it traveled 90 feet across columbus drive hitting marie contreras in the backseat of a car. three former wal-mart employees are facing serious charges over the death of an accused shoplifter because of an incident happening in lakeland in july. jeff patterson has video of the incident tonight. video shows 64-year-old kenneth wisham in the store putting items in his coat. he is confronted by wal-mart employees at the door. the manager tells police she and other employed tried to stop wisham from leaving. when he ran, they chased him. nunez told police she knocked the 64-year-old over as he ran. >> the guy, he was fighting. he was not stopping. he wasn't is a 21 year wal-mart employee and sayings he was only trying to protect his coworker. >> he was swinging pretty freely at her and fighting with her. i said well, i don't want her to get hurt. i need to get up there as quick as i can. >> reporter: the former wal- mart employees now face manslaughter charges in this well, some students at dunedin high school plan to use the democratic process to change a policy they say is preventing them from flying the american flag. jamel lanee shows us how they are fighting for freedom of expression. >> reporter: dunedin high school students say they are flying the american flag out of protest. >> today, we set up this to try and stand up for ourselves as we can fly our flags. >> reporter: students say they were told they had to take the flag down school principal kyle johnson said he never told them not to fly the flag. he says the school's policy says any loose items on cars or truck beds are safety hazards. anything on a vehicle must be secured. >> we never confiscated any flags. the flags were stuck in the back of the pickup trucks loose. we wanted to make sure no loose items could be picked up, swung around, hit somebody by students a chance to write a new policy. >> in our proposal, we talked about how the recognized national flags are allowed in school truck beds as long as they are secured properly so it is not a
