cup spoke with 30 year old ronald robbibaro before he crashed into a front yard, but they let him go. he stole ripped through a fence and -- >> he says this truck is weaving on both sides of the lane. >> reporter: the detention sergeant follows but the truck stops and backs up over the deputy's car. >> the coca-cola truck hits the front corner panel of the f- 150. >> reporter: sheriff chris been arrested several times before, once for resisting arrest. a night that started at a hernando county strip club ended with murder at a hotel. kayla collins met her victim jeffrey lott saturday night. they headed to the holiday inn express where they say she shot him several times. then they say she took his truck and on monday, many county health departments will begin offering free zika testing for pregnant women but will there be enough to go around? the department of health has been scrambling to get enough resources ready. >> i just get very nervous and worried about things, you know. because i got a lot going on with the zika virus, it's like oh, my goodness. >> the health department in polk and pinellas counties expects to be able to start the testing monday. there are now 16 non-travel- related zika cases in florida, all of them in miami dade county. an overloaded extension cord started a fire at a mosque in tampa. in this know a refrigerator was plugged into an extension cord that couldn't handle the load. they are looking into any possible connection with yesterday's small fire. the staff at busch gardens has seen an outpouring of support following -- a man is charged with injuring pinky, the bird, so bad earlier this week, the bird had to be put down. pinky's caretakers who are still grieving. a usf student injured in a car accident in cuba more than a year ago is set to graduate saturday. as rod carter shows us, it took a long fight for her to recover and get back home. >> reporter: barbara jimenez traveled to cuba last year and on day 1 got into a major car accident. she and what's worse, her health insurance lapsed and she didn't have money to get back home. >> i'm doing the walk, everything, homecoming queen wave. >> reporter: now she's laughing and enjoying life. she is graduating from usf and despite what she's been through, only one semester later than what she planned. >> some of my doctors were telling me take more time off, i'm like, no, it's three classes i'm not going to take another year of doing nothing. >> reporter: now that she's home, healed and happy, she's ready for the next chapter in her life. the opening ceremony begins in just about 30 minutes. it promises to be a spectacular night in rio. some people in the bay area are already gathering to see the show. i am so excited about these opening ce are too. >> reporter: well, you're not the only one excited. everybody is getting into the olympic spirit. we're here at game time in ybor city. the tvs are already turned to us here at news channel 8. people are ready to see the olympic opening ceremony. they're having a watch party here tonight. pre-kickoff party starting right now. this is the big attraction. come over here. brought in specifically for the rio 2016 olympics. people are over here getting ready to play this game. so i played it. it was pretty breath taking. pretty fun. but they've had this game for three weeks and it's been telling me the line has been so long to play this game. there are all different types of games on here and it goes from mario and sonic. you can choose your characters. it's a everybody's getting into the olympic year the convention draws tens of thousands of people to the area. chip joins us live. it's been pretty busy there today, hasn't it? >> reporter: the vendor area shut down about an hour ago, but you can still see there are quite a few people milling around, taking pictures and earlier this place was absolutely packed and one of the event organizers told me this is actually the slowest day. last year, comic con did 50,000 -- this year she believes there may be close to 60,000. i think it's safe to say you don't have to be into it to be entertained by it. it attracts characters of all sorts. characters like bill gandolph. >> reporter: what's the most exciting for you? >> taking photographs with the people, with everybody. that's what i enjoy most. >> reporter: some come here to shop. this for $20, which is just -- it's about $60 worth of stuff. and this one will take you up to third level. >> reporter: some just for the experience. but is this just a convention for the nerdy types? and vendors like brandon believe the green you see exchanging hands is proof this is no longer an event for some. >> everybody is into comics. once they started putting real comic books on the big screen, that translated well to the customer base. that's been very good. >> reporter: and comic con is beginning today and runs through the weekend. shuts down at midnight tonight and back open tomorrow. tickets are not $30 for today, $30 for sunday. $40 admission for saturday. or there is a three-day option, $60 for the entire three days. >> it's just hard to put a price on all that good people watching. i'm telling you what. there are a lot of fun things to see. >> reporter: you know, you want to talk about people watching at the airport, people watching at the mall, this tops is all. >> the north. with an area of low pressure farther to our north and sitting there for a while, it will probably stimulate the northern sections. inland areas not as much. the better chances -- especially earlier in the day would be pinellas north. saturday evening, same as tonight. temperatures held down a bit. you can see mostly cloudy skies in the forecast. in the low to mid-80s tomorrow. heavy rain possible and drifting inland. we have about a 60% chance for this day. the conference could be a little better. 50% rain chance saturday. 60% on sunday and same for monday. note the high temperatures are a little bit less hot. 90 degrees our average. and the next couple of days looks like we'll stay that way. we had 89 today, 88 yesterday. we're running a little cooler. not as intensely hot.
