speech here at baldwin wallace university and ohioans cast their ballots before today. overall voter turnout is not predicted to set a record 500,000 early ballottings were requested. at that time it was only 333,000. john houston says the voter turnout is below what might have been predicted. >> we will not see record turnout, just strong. we have seen more republican ballottings than democratic bal the los and there seems to be more interest on that side than what you would expect with our governor being in the race. >> and right now there is still been two-and-a-half hours left. we got reports from cuyahoga county that turnout is low. 18% there. the lines are getting longer as the primary election starts to we have a look at voter turnout. megan hickey, many voters crossing the lines for today's primary. >> right, actually a historic high of 15% of registered democrats requested, republican ballots this time around. on the other side only one percent or so of republicans requested democratic ballots and i spoke with people here at gunning recreation center that did that. some is said that governor kaisch running had something to do with switching sides. the board of coming from here in cuyahoga county. we know where john kasich has done well in the past and we know where we expect donald trump should do well based on what we have seen in the first 20 states that have voted. now this is a map of the 2012 republican primary. only one percent by mitt romney over rick santorum. that is a blueprint that kaisch will need to stick to, cincinnati. in cuyahoga and hamilton county romney came out of those both with a 20% margin of victory, 16,000 votes each. he won by 12,000. romney won by five percent and an area that we expect kaisch to do better because it is his home port where he has represented the people in becoming governor. the area for donald trump from steubenville on. this is representing a large area of ted strickland's old congressional district. if we see a lot of democrats it could have an impact on strickland's race with pj sittenfeld for the u.s. senate. that is something we will be looking at. also on the republican side we have the question of ted cruz expected to pick up 17% of the vote, where does that come from and who does that impact, all of the things we will be looking at as the numbers roll in at 7:45 tonight. chris. he says regardless of what happens tonight, he is carrying on. he says he still plans to campaign in utah. hold out hope for the governor's race? >> there is speculating for marco rubio if he doesn't was confirmed from the tornado moving from the southwest and northwest of dayton. a town called phillipsburg and a town called brooksville. this is in northern montgomery county and southern miami county. west of interstate 57, a lot of pictures social media was a buzz yesterday afternoon. let's break down the specifics, the weather service was out there today and they were doing some storm survey damage. here it is confirmed. yesterday, one barn destroyed and one barn with a roof off and one missing with some siding missing and a tornado. obviously courtesy of the doppler radar situation that it made and the videos that we saw. here is the specifics. ef1, ef0 all the way to ef5. this was a 1 which is typical winds 100 to 105 and there's phillipsburg and the width of the path of the tornado, 75 yards and the length 200 as it crossed to southern miami county. there's dayton to the southwest so this was yesterday and in fact, mark and i were talking during the 4:00 show about how the weather service was also out today conducting other possible other tornadoes that there were a couple of cells there in the area. mark and lee and frank. apparently a few funnel clouds dropped down. >> absolutely. four tornado touch-downs confirmed in the dayton area come coming from the national weather service in wilmington. they were out this afternoon and they confirmed it at time. we are dry for now. we had a little bit of drizzle earlier this morning but thanks to all of the clouds and the fog look at the temperatures. they are stuck, 43 in downtown, 47 in euclid and chardon. we are in the 50s south. and ashland getting sun. either that or somebody left the iron on. mid 60s. how about 55 in mansfield and mohican at 56. slightly warmer inland. millersburg 62 and trying to sun in your back yard over the next hour or two, we could add another five or six degrees to the cooler temperatures further north. but that's not likely. look at this. stuck in the 40s, 8, 9, 10:00, 48. i would recommend wearing that spring coat out and about. we won't deal with rain for the evening but there is another front coming in for tomorrow morning's rush. a.m. wednesday morning. dry, there it goes. now we see showers coming in between 7 and 9:00 a.m. maybe maybe thunder but it looks it looks docile. we are talking 40s. tomorrow, if we can get the sun good, west side. be unstoppable in the delegate stop. there has been talk about people voting strategically and that means alters the outcome as part of a bigger picture including switching parties if allowed to vote for a candidate that could serve as a spoiler. the voters say they have heard of it but none of them was doing that. we mentioned that turnout has been low in cuyahoga county with more people in the suburbs making the track to the polls. once the ballots are collected, sent to a warehouse in cleveland to be counted. our joe pagonakis is at that warehouse live. that's right. voter turnout as of
