Across the country this morning americans are waking up remembering exactly where they were 15 years ago today. Visions of horrific images from new york to the our heads. In the decade andahalf since that day 9 11 has come to represent a lot of emotions for us. Sadness, anger, perhaps loss of innocence as well. Also a day that brings us together and serves as a reminder of what it truly means to be american. The nation persevered since the day nearly 3,000 people lost their lives. There are new moments and celebrating new life. Most importantly the nation elapsed since 9 11. This is hard to believe but it has. Each 9 11 of each year we look back and reflect. The memorial began earlier with honor guard, 21gun salute and tribute from the Mentor High School choir. Also included a 5k, proceeds to an organization that helps kids interested in becoming Police Officers or firefighters. 9 11 tributes continued in medina Steven Siller tunnel to towers 5k run. The tunneltotowers foundation started by the family of new york city firefighter Steven Siller who on september 11th ran through the battery tunnel from brooklyn to the World Trade Center where he lost his life.
