Taylor will introduce a resolution calling on the county board to recognize october as Domestic Violence awareness month. 3 the future of milwaukees Mitchell Park domes has been the subject of a lot of talk recently and tonight a group of county leader process of determining that future. Cbs 58s Amanda Porterfield is live at the domes with a preview. Amanda today is the first time a task force will meet about the Mitchell Park domes. The beginning of a series of meetings to decide the future of these iconic milwaukee structures. The domes closed earlier this year afterthey have been a staple in milwaukee since the 1930s. But they closed in on the domes is weak. And has been crumbling off and falling to the ground. The county was concerned about visitor safety. They opened up one at a time this fall after the county put up netting to catch any pieces of concrete. Just a temporary solution. The county has about a million and a half dollars for repair. But it will cost about 45 milllion dollars for a full scale repair. Controversy came after county 03 46 50 the task force is going to make a recommendation. The county board makes the final decision and hat will happen within a yer year the domes recently got Historic Preservation status named one of 11 most endangered places in the united states. The number of people who come here is about a few hundred thousand. And the county says that number has been up since they reopened.
