Michele, Alderman Terry witkowski wanted a special referendum to be put on novembers ballot that would allow voters to authorize the addition of up to 150 Milwaukee Police officers. Now youll remember last week, the Common Council unveiled a plan to add 280 officers. Witkowski says he doesnt think that number is feasible. He also thinks voters should have a say on the taxes that would be restored to their 25 level as part of the plan. Witkowski says the Common Council needed to hold a special meeting to consider his referendum but its not happening. When i put it out, i was really taking the temperature of the Common Council as to whether citywide they felt like there was a problem that needed to be addressed. Apparently the answer is no.
