"i've been in law enforcement for never seen an incident this horrific. by two dogs." dogs." both girls girls suffered serious but non life threatening injuries. coming up at 5 we'll tell you why police say the owners may not face any charges. live in the newsroom... ad cbs 58 milwaukee police are telling a tragically familiar scenario. a parent falls asleep on a child and kills the infant. in this most recent case..it's what the mother did before intesntisifed the investigation. cbs 58's julie parise explains. today the medical examiner's office is calling the death of this infant suspicious. the girl was one a a half months old and died here yesterday aft. afternoon.the child lived in a duplex on the corner 54th and meinecke. the police department says the child's 30 year old mother was sleeping next to her and slouched down on her until the child lost consciousness. police believe the mother was under the influence of narcotics at the time. live in the neighborhood and several of them told us the same thing - they're not surprised to hear of a death investigation in this part of town. "i've lived around here for 14 years and i lived two blocks down for another 8 years. literally, i've seen so many changes. it's gone from up here where i'm like okay you can leave your door open and feel safe around your kids, to completely downhill. it's time for us to move, that's for sure" sure."an autopsy is scheduled for baby tomorrow. jp cbs 58 milwaukee police are searching for a hit-and-run suspect. suspect.they released this photo of the car in question today. the car you see here hit a motorcyclist that ran a red light. you can see it in the background there. the suv stopped briefly but then kept going. this happened just before nine last night on west mitchell near muskego avenue. police say the motorcyclist ran a red light and was hit in the intersection. the victim, a injured and is still in the hos. hospital.if you recognize the car...call milwaukee police at 414-935-7360 3 be on the lookout for this missing elderly man from hales corners. 83-year-old edward wruck left his nursing home at eleven this morning ?in an employee's vehicle? back in court this afternoon...the latest is just ahead. 3 we've got much more news and weather headlines...coming up another delay in the slender man case..the court was worried about the reports of one of the doctors evaluating morgan geyser. geyser.so, the judge today decided to appoint yet another . psychiatrist.gyser appeared at today's hearing on video concerence.her co-defendent, anisa weier, was on the telephone.both are being tried as adults in the 2014 stabbing of their classmate. the judge said one of the doctors submitted two reports, wi judge agreed to bring in another doctor.. but said he's worried that this case keeps getting pushed back. 16:00:32-53 the case has been pending for over 2 years.. time is relative.. but it's good to keep the case moving if the court can. i'm satified that the court should appoint a new doctor and have a new report come in. all of the doctor reports were due back on october 13th..but that hearing has now been pushed back to november 11th. 3 it looks like the estabrook dam will be torn down.plans were announced yeserday to get rid of it...ending a long-standing argument once and for all. cbs 58's lindsey branwall got reaction from both sides on this issue. issue.she joins us now live...lindsey. mayor tom barrett and county executive chris abele hope to work with the city's common estabrook dam. that would take it out of county control and put it into city control. abele and barrett say the county board has never had a transparent vote on the dam.the city would then sell it to the milwaukee metropolitan sewerage district for 1 dollar. abele and barrett say it's best for taxpayers and the environment. the non-profit group, milwaukee riverkeepers says they're in favor of seeing the dam go. 3 downstream or damage property. which is why the dnr ordered that it would be open permanently in 2009 until it was removed or restored. i think that they haven't always taken their repsponsibility as a dam owner 3seriously. seriously."we have a decades worth of public meetings and public votes and they want to say it wasn't transparent. and i think that is the biggest insult to all of us here" here" you just heard from county board representatives. they say they have had transparent votes and listening sessions, as recent as three weeks ago regarding the dam. and believe the effort to rezone is spike in crimes like this in the area...but it appears the thieves are getting more bold...this latest incident happened in broad day light. cbs 58's kyle aevermann reports. thieves not only broke into his car, they drove off with it. and inside was nearly 10,000 worth of dj-ing equipment.
