Now your storm team 5 forecast with meterologist danielle vollmar. Doug you know what else you dont notice . Snowplows. So theres plenty of spots. Danielle there are plenty of spots. No snow. There is really no snow in the forecast. Well turn milder as we work our way through the holiday week but this morning is actually very cold out there. In fact, it hasnt felt this month of december has been very, very warm. Todays overnight low was actually 27 in worcester and 31 in boston. And we have to go all the way cold. Our average though should be around 27 in boston so were still running above normal there. Even though it feels so cold outside. 33 degrees right now boston. 29 in worcester. 32 degrees in keene. But we still have pretty gusty winds out there especially in worcester and pittsfield and even on nantucket. You see wind gusts in excess of 30 miles an hour. That makes it feel even colder outside. You want to dress for those wind chill values so its feeling more like 16 in worcester, like 17 degrees in pittsfield, and like 24 in boston so its a cold one out there at this point but as we go through the day, those winds will begin to back down and theyre going to turn out of the west. As they do so, it wont feel as remember yesterday those winds were sustained at about 20 to even 30 miles an hour. The other thing were going to see is a lot of sunshine today. Notice temperatures will warm up only into the upper 30s through the merrimack valley. 37 worcester. 40 in boston. And the low 40s on nantucket. Now we do have a couple of isolated snow showers and flurries around especially if you live near cape ann, near gloucester. You see a little bit of flurry activity there for you folks as well as out in western mass, say, towards the berkshires and near pittsfield, williamstown and down to great bearing ton. All of this is associated with off ontario. So its making it all the way towards our region because of those strong, gusty winds. Now today High Pressure is going to move on in. As it does, its going to dominate our weather giving us lots of sunshine. And then were watching this area of low pressure and warm front you see. Changes. Weather. Muchneeded rain. Forecast. Notice, by about lunchtime or things out. Well see lots of sunshine all day long. And tonight overnight into first thing tomorrow, some clouds are going to filter on in. Temperaturewise not as cold as this morning. But still the 20s and the 30s to start your day but notice that wind out of the south and west. That is going to kick up tomorrow. Youre going to feel it anywhere from 1020 but thats also a warming wind so take a look at the temperatures tomorrow. Upper 40s in worcester. Low to mid 50s in boston and points south and east. So its a much milder day tomorrow, and theres more clouds around, too. Looks like the showers though wont make it into our region at least for tomorrow. Theyll go mainly north in Northern New England, i think. But there will be more clouds around and breezy conditions. May actually need a wind southeastern mass. Watch this cold front come on in. It swings through. Its going to bring some rain to our area beginning tuesday afternoon as well as the evening. And that brings us up to a very wet pattern in store over the next couple of days so wednesday and thursday, which is actually Christmas Eve, were going to see more rain chances in the forecast, but of course with that comes the potential for some record warmth as im forecasting a high of 63 degrees in boston. Those records should be around 61 degrees so we could potentially break records on Christmas Eve. Dry and sunny. Doug and sera. Thank you. More stories happening right now.
