the way! >> smart man. >> ha ha ha! >> hey, listen, today in boston, the high temperature,de cooler than yesterday. but still above average, as the month is. you can see it's getting heavily overcast in boston. the wind is off the water. that means low levels are kind of getting saturated. it's eventually going to lead to a few pockets of drizzle, a few showers, maybe patchy fog before this night is out. we're 58. that's close to the water temperature. i don't expect temperatures to fall tonight. there's the wind off the water. as you'd expect, compared to inland locations. so we're in the 50's to near 60 tonight. tomorrow's temperatures, we'll still make the upper 60's and low 70's, still as you'd above average, in spite of the fact that we're not going to have much, if any, sunshine. the wind becoming southeast to south as we go through the day. more of a tropical feel to the air developing. moisture to the west. we also have moisture to the south. it's a tropical system disturbance. it might become a tropical storm, weak one, might not. but the idea is some of east coast, combining with this front approaching, even though the whole physical storm won't come all the way up to us. before any of that happens, more low clouds to the south and we're seeing pockets of drizzle starting to break out. a few little showers. that may start spreading northward. if you're going to be out a few hours from now, don't be shocked if you get a shower or two break out. it's going to be on the damp side tomorrow morning. way before us. but it's that moisture from the south that could get drawn north. if we're going to get heavier bands of rain, it would like lie be either tomorrow afternoon and/or tomorrow night. starting to lift north of us by early saturday. there's a whole upper level disturbance that has to come through saturday. i expect even a few more showers saturday. as far as the mountains of vermont are concerned, it may get cold enough with a rush of colder air overnight saturday into sunday squalls up there. so we get some of this moisture to our north. then we go into a much cooler pattern beginning saturday evening. you'll especially feel it saturday night on, right through a good chunk of next week. how much rain are we going to get between overnight tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night? a few more showers on saturday. right now, average amount could be half an inch. but there could be areas that get an inch. there could be some areas that get locally higher amounts. we'll just have to follow that down, down, down. every day throughout the next six days, with tomorrow being the mildest of the bunch. the other thing, just to show you, the wind gusts, not a problem early saturday but starting to pick up saturday afternoon and then a real factor saturday night and sunday. gusts 30 to 40 miles an hour. so sunday's wind could really be a factor for the charles regatta. saturday morning's winds will be a whole lot lighter.
