victims based on where they lived so they would be the last person in the van with him. robert mcneil appear before a patients over the age of 60. at the time of these assaults, they suffered from alzheimer's disease or other developmental disabilities. the assaults took place over the last two years in several towns. an investigation ensued and and all of the cases, they did not -- the victim including assault with intent to murder, in the stabbing of a hired driver. newscenter 5's sera congi is live from the courthouse in chelsea. >> the 57-year-old east boston man was released from the hospital this morning. he suffered a slash wound to the neck with a box cutter. ended in violence. around 6:30 last night on congress ave, chelsea police found the driver in this mini-van with a slash wound to his neck. the 57-year-old east boston man was giving two teenagers a ride when they allegedly assaulted the driver with a box cutter. police say the victim was a so called "gypsy driver," providing an unlicensed cab service to the teens, who used the ride to go to a local gamestop to sell goods. investigators believe the attack started with a fight over the fare. thanks to a description from were tracked down and arrested. those teenagers, to be arraigned in juvenile court are not public. they both face armed assault with intent to murder, and assault and battery. >> today. prosecutors say richard moore repeatedly stabbed 51-year-old joanne boucher. neighbors say moore, who is a registered sex offender, had been living with boucher for months. investigators are not commenting on a motive. >> the man sentenced to death for the killings of two massachusetts men will ask a jury to spare his life. gary sampson pleaded guilty to the july 2001 carjacking murders and was sentenced to death. but that sentence was thrown out 5 years ago after a judge found one juror lied about her background. a sentencing retrial is set to begin wednesday. about 3 months. >> a plymouth man is expected in court today. charged with stealing police support flags on the cape. barnstable police say witnesses saw 60-year-old david hickman on the route 149 overpass last night. hickman is accused of taking the flags off the overpass and burying them in the woods. police are also checking if he is connected to two other cases of similar vandalism. boston police officers begin the department's body camera pilot program today. the authority to force officers to wear the cameras. it will be a six-month pilot program. the union expressed disappointment with the judge's decision. however, in a statement, the president said he will work to make the cameras a success. we're getting a new look at the building that's slated to overtake the beloved prouty garden at
