We all need to have our bodies and our minds rest at night, so that we can replenish and rejuvenate and be ready for the next day of activities. Doug between talking, playing and learning, toddlers are very active. Getting them to slow down at bedtime to be a challenge. Pediatricians advise parents remember the four b s. Proteins are really important. Starting with bathing. And having that bathtime that allows them to settle down. And then brushing their teeth. They start to think bath, then brushing and then story time. Calming activity like reading a book together. Then there is bedtime. Doug singing a lullaby or playing soft music and help. If it is too dark, at a nightlight or leave the door cracked. For children over than 12 months, special blanket or toy can help. These are all behavior modification techniques that we are talking about. None of them work overnight. So the parent has to decide that this is the course they are ready for.
