Blazing throughout this springfield township home. And witnesses say it all happened in just a matter of seconds. Kevin keller neighborthere were flames that were probably 10 feet in the air above the porchthe porch was fully engulfed. Kevin keller has lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and says his first concern was for the elderly man next door. Briana harper briana wcponeighbors tell me one of their worst nightmares was confirmed once they spotted the mans car in the driveway which is one of the telltell signs that most likely he was inside. Immediately i just grabbed my phone, called 911 and ran over to the house and started pounding on his door to see if i could get him up. But it was all too late. After battling the blaze for at least two hours firefighters found the mans body in the kitchen. Neighbors say hes in his 60s and describe him simply as a good guy. Saw him yesterday on the way home from church. He was walking his dog and hes got a big white beard and i call him santa. I stopped and said hey santa and we just chatted for a investigation shows the blaze may have started on the backporch where space heaters where foundthen the flames spread from there. A firefighter also suffered a sprained ankle while fighting the flamesbut no other injuries were reported. The fire chief also says the clutter inside the home made it difficult for firefighters to not only contain the flames but also locate the victim. Police say driver ali gervacio refused to stop when an officer tried to pull him over just before two am sunday. A short chase ended when the 23 year old crashed into a parked car and tried to run. The officer fired a shot, missing him, but it was enough to get gervacio to stop running. He now faces several charges. The sharks will typically first arrive in midjanuary, but the waters off the coast of palm beach were empty until the end of the month. But now that theyre here, the blacktip sharks are congregating in huge numbers. Dr. Kajiura estimated more than 10,000 of the sharks are swimming just off the coast of palm beach, florida. And we really mean just off the coast. The interesting thing is these sharks are right up against the shoreline. You could stand on the shore and toss a pebble and hit a shark, theyre that close, dr. Kajiura said. So whats up with the bizarre behavior from the sharks . Part of the reason could be 2016s particularly strong el nino.
