Suspect James Patrick dillon is shot by police and in elmhurst hospital in stable condition and not yet been charged in this rampage that killed one man and injured two others. Police say it was a six hour ordeal that ended with shots fired. The suspect James Patrick dillon reportedly off his psychiatric medication. Once cornered by Police Sunday evening the nypd says he put up a fight. Knife in one hand, beer bottle filled with an accelerant in the other. The suspect then sprayed the two officers with the liquid burning their hands and face. The officer then discharged suspect. It started at 11 20 sunday morning when investigators say dillon slashed his neighbor a 39 year old woman in her face astoria. Thats when the pursuit for dillon began. Four hours later two more victims, officers say 55 year this liquor store was slashed in the face by dillon and later died and then a 61 year old homeless man inside the store at the time was sprayed with a chemical and set on fire. Shortly after 5 00 p. M. Cops got a tip about a Home Invasion robbery on 42nd street and newtown road. By 5 40, dillon was surrounded by police near his home, shot, injured and arrested. She knew her 23yearold neighbor was troubled i told my son stay away from him. Theres going to be trouble because he acted crazy. I knew he was crazy by the way he was behaving. A suspect under arrest after a Violent Crime spree in queens and when it was all over one man was dead a woman slash aid homeless man set on fire and two officers injured. It was a chaotic scene sunday in a usually quiet neighborhood. Police eventually surrounded the suspect and was forced to open fire. Cbs 2 is live in astoria with this story for us. Reporter chris and mary neighbors tell us that James Patrick dillon was unstable. He is a man that police say was responsible for this crime spree and apparently he stopped taking his medication before this rampage. Police say it was a six hour ordeal that ended with shots fired. The suspect James Patrick dillon reportedly off his once cornered by Police Sunday evening, the nypd says he put up a fight. Knife in one hand, beer bottle filled with an accelerant in the other. The suspect then sprayed the two officers with the liquid burning their hands and face. The officer then discharged their weapons shooting the suspect. It started at 11 20 sunday morning when investigators say dillon slashed his neighbor a 39 year old woman in her face and neck on 36th street in astoria. Thats when the pursuit for dillon began. Four hours later two more victims, officers say the owner of this liquor store was slashed by dillon in the face and neck and later died. Then a 61 year old homeless man inside the store at the time was sprayed with a chemical and set on fire. Shortly after 5 00 p. M. Cops got a tip about a Home Invasion robbery on 42nd street and newtown road. A woman reported a man was apartment and climb down her fire escape. By 5 40 dillon was surrounded byplace near his home, shot, injured and arrested. Doreen nasser knew her 23year old neighbor was troubled. I told my son stay away. Theres going to be trouble because he anded crazy. I knew he was crazy by the way he was behaving. And dillon is in stable condition at elmhurst hospital. He has not yet been charged in this case. Once cornered by Police Sunday evening, the nypd says he put up a fight. Knife in one hand, beer bottle filled with an accelerant in the other. The suspect then sprayed the two officers with the liquid burning their hands and face. The officer then discharged their weapons shoots the suspect. It started at 11 20 sunday morning when investigators say trompe loeil on slashed had his neighbor a 39 year old woman in her face and neck on 36th street in astoria. Thats when the pursuit for dillon began. Four hours later two more of the liquor store was slashed by dillon in the face and neck and later died. Cops got a tip about a Home Invasion robbery on 42nd street and newtown road. A woman reported a man was trying to break into her apartment and climb down her fire escape and by 5 40, dillon was surrounded by police near his home, shot, injured and arrested.
