took off on foot with money, phone and shoes. no word yet on who the victim is but we did see a man without shoes getting into the back of a police car. investigators say one of the suspects was wearing brown timberland boots and one was wearing a black north face jacket. now coincidentally there have been three other muggings nearby in and around central park since monday night at west 95th street and west drive, west 91st street near the reservoir and east 86th street. these all happened late at night and into the overnight hours. police at this point do not believe that this armed robbery from this morning is connected but still, people we spoke with last night say all of this has left them on edge. >> my mom used to always send me every article any time anything would happen here being like please stop walking through the park at night but will you stop? yeah, i think i probably will. >> i usually don't walk through the park at night for reasons >> and again, police are happening today sentencing for a new jersey man who plead guilty to stabbing and killing the former scout monster who molested him as a child. in court in june, clark fredricks described years of abuse by former scott master and he said shame kept him quiet but news reports about jerry sandusky, the former penn state coach convicted of molestation charges lead him to kill peg in june of 2012. wide. chris and mary? meg, thanks. new this morning the arson pattern in forest hill queens surveillance video into our news room of a possible suspect seen walking with a limp and kneeling behind a building. police have stepped up patrols in queens after an arson spree in forest hills. the nypd is hoping increased police presence will help root out the suspected arsonist before he strikes again. investigators say the arson it's has torched seven properties since october. most of the structures have been under construction. police say the arsonist last struck on sunday on 69th road near grand vent parkway. happening today jury deliberations are expected to begin in the trial of former new york state senate leader and his son adam. >> they are accused of shaking down companies with state business to get them to hire adam. >> reporter: deal skelos wife reiterating confidence he will be acquitted. >> the jury is working diligently, they listen diligently and i'm confident my son and i will be found innocent. >> the former new york state senate majority leader and his 33 year old son adam both facing prison time and eight counts of bribery, extortion and conspiracy. the elder skelos used his position to strong arm companies into getting his son a no show job and other high paying positions. they say the 67 year olds also accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from developers in exchange for political favors. during the three week trial attorneys for both skelos men argue no crime was committed. as he entered court wednesday, adam skelos made a swipe at the notorious three men in a room the term referring to the state majority leader the state assembly majority leader and governor, the most powerful politicians in the state. governor cuomo and former assemblyman shelton convicted in his own corruption trial last week. >> the three men in the room running the state, two of them are crooked politicians. my dad is not one of them. >> their fate soon to be in the hands westchester. the new york state attorney general's office is now taking over the investigation. 36 year old miguel espinol was shot and killed tuesday during a confrontation tuesday with officers after he lead police on a high speed car chase. the nypd will conduct its own internal appropriate into the shooting. no injuries following a gas leak. national grid and con ed have been there all night looking for the source. officials say it appears the leak was from nearby construction. four small buildings were evacuated at 11th avenue and 64th street. this morning israeli prime minister rejects donald's trumps comments about muslims but still plans to meet with trump when the republican front runner visits israel later this month. back at home city leader pulled no punches in a rally and bought about $300,000 of luxury items and the hospital says it's taking aggressive steps to strengthen security protocols. a 15 year old is faces first degree murder charges in killing of a brooklyn rabbi. dna, phone records and a witness sketch convinced a grand jury to indict d' andre charles. the rabbi was fatally shot by two young men in 2014 during a visit to husband daughter in video, home street 112th street here in queens just near one of these homes he's accused of torching down. police are hoping this morning by getting his image out there it will ultimately lead to an arrest. newly released surveillance video of the accused arsonist shows him near the area of the first fire. look closely and you can see the man whose face is covered as he uses gloved hands to move a handgun from his left ankle and then to the right pocket of his hooded sweatshirt, just minutes before police say he set fire to the home near 112th street and 68th drive in forest hills. it's the latest surveillance video of the man police say is responsible for at least seven fires in the community set since early november. investigators had them on camera in two other instances around the homes that were torched. all of them under construction or undergoing renovation. >> we have a task force working together to try to find this person. we believe it to be one person. >> earlier this week fire commissioner daniel nigro and nypd promised the jewish community increased police presence as investigators work to find the suspect. >> i lay in my bed at night and hear those fire engines going past my house and i say "oh, no not another one." >> many at a community meeting expressing their fear aunt the man still on the run hoping the increased attention will lead to his arrest before police tell us this morning they are searching for two hispanic males after this armed robbery that took place here at west 70th street and central park west right by central park. let's show you some video that we shot just a short time ago this morning of police canvassing this area. the armed robbery we're told happened around 3:00 this morning. cops say the suspects took off on foot with money, a phone, and shoes. no word exactly who the victim is but we did shoot video of a man without shoes getting into investigators say one of the suspects was wearing brown timberland boots one was wearing a black north face jacket. coincidentally there have been three other muggings near and around central park since monday night at west 95th street and west drive, west 91st street near the reservoir and at east 86th street. all took place late at night into the overnight hours. it's left people who usually travel through the park on edge. >> my mom used to always send me an article any time anything would happen and be like please stop walking through the park at night but-- >> will you stop? >> i think i probably will. >> i usually don't walk through the park at night for reasons prosecuted not you'll its extent the law allows. >> d' andre charles 14 at the during a robbery on saturday in august 2014 as he walked to a synagogue. the killer got nothing prosecutors say because well chris and mary police tell us a 33 year old man was held up at gunpoint here at west 70th street and central park west just a few hours ago this morning right outside central park. let's show you video that we shot of police canvassing the area. we're told they are searching for two hispanic men. this happened around 3:00 this morning. cops say the suspect took off on foot with money, a phone and shoes. we did see a man without shoes getting into the back of a police car. investigators say the suspect with the gun is 5-foot 10 with a mustache wearing timberland boots and a black north face jacket. eight with a stocky build wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and his hair in broads. now coincidentally there have been three other muggings in and around central park this week since monday night at west 95th street and west drive, west 91st street near the reservoir, and at east 86th street all of these happening late at night into the overnight hours and its left many people around not bleeding which is good. >> i'd like to start off by saying i'm extremely sad over coconut's condition. >> christopher whose recently taken over his family business says the dog arrived at his grooming salon with thick, matted fur covering up skin problems. >> coconut came in saturday as well as the families other dog in extremely poor condition. >> he did the grooming himself says the dog had to be shaved that close. >> coconut always requires medicated baths each time associated with chronic skin irritation. along with matted coat consistently the length of these cuts had to be as took off on foot with money, phone and shoes. no word yet on who the victim is but we did see a man without shoes getting into the back of a police car. investigators say one of the suspects was wearing brown timberland boots and one was wearing a black north face jacket. now coincidentally there have been three other muggings nearby in and around central park since monday night at west 95th street and west drive, west 91st street near the reservoir and east 86th street. these all happened late at night and into the overnight hours. police at this point do not believe that this armed robbery from this morning is connected but still, people we spoke with last night say all of this has left them on edge. >> my mom used to always send me every article any time anything would happen happening today sentencing for a new jersey man who plead guilty to stabbing and killing the former scout monster who molested him as a child. in court in june, clark fredricks described years of abuse by former scott master and he said shame kept him quiet but news reports about jerry sandusky, the former penn state coach convicted of molestation charges lead him to kill peg in june of 2012. wide. chris and mary? meg, thanks. new this morning the arson pattern in forest hill queens surveillance video into our news room of a possible suspect seen walking with a limp and kneeling behind a building. police have stepped up patrols in queens after an arson spree in forest hills. the nypd is hoping increased police presence will help root out the suspected arsonist before he strikes again. investigators say the arson it's has torched seven properties since october. most of the structures have been under construction. police say the arsonist last struck on sunday on 69th road near grand vent parkway. happening today jury deliberations are expected to begin in the trial of former new york state senate leader and his son adam. >> they are accused of shaking down companies with state business to get them to hire adam. >> reporter: deal skelos wife reiterating confidence he will be acquitted. >> the jury is working diligently, they listen diligently and i'm confident my son and i will be found innocent. >> the former new york state senate majority leader and his 33 year old son adam both facing prison time and eight counts of bribery, extortion and conspiracy. the elder skelos used his position to strong arm companies into getting his son a no show job and other high paying positions. they say the 67 year olds also accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from developers in exchange for political favors. during the three week trial attorneys for both skelos men argue no crime was committed. as he entered court wednesday, adam skelos made a swipe at the notorious three men in a room the term referring to the state majority leader the state assembly majority leader and governor, the most powerful politicians in the state. governor cuomo and former assemblyman shelton convicted in his own corruption trial last week. >> the three men in the room running the state, two of them are crooked politicians. my dad is not one of them. >> their fate soon to be in the hands of the jury of nine women and three men. >> hope to be found innocent. >> cbs 2 news. the first funeral will be held today for victim of the san bern terror attack. one of 14 people killed in that mass shooting and word this morning the couple behind the third suspect. he was a friend of a former neighbor who admitted to giving questioned about other plans the couple may have had. the fbi says in the united states. >> source tell cbs news the justice department is looking support for terrorism. new information this morning on a deadly police involved shooting of an unarmed man in westchester. the new york state attorney general's office is now taking over the investigation. 36 year old miguel espinol was shot and killed tuesday during a confrontation tuesday with officers after he lead police on a high speed car chase. the nypd will conduct its own internal appropriate into the shooting. no injuries following a gas leak. national grid and con ed have been there all night looking for the source. officials say it appears the leak was from nearby construction. four small buildings were evacuated at 11th avenue and 64th street. this morning israeli prime minister rejects donald's trumps comments about muslims but still plans to meet with trump when the republican front runner visits israel later this month. back at home city leader pulled no punches in a rally against trump at city hall. who has no business running for president period. >> council speaker was front and center yesterday at a rally on steps of city hall and the group included prominent information from dozens of patients and going on a shopping spree. police say kyle steed gave patient records including social security numbers to his wife crystal who took overcured" card accounts and bought about $300,000 of luxury items and the hospital says it's taking aggressive steps to strengthen security protocols. a 15 year old is faces first degree murder charges in killing of a brooklyn rabbi. dna, phone records and a witness sketch convinced a grand jury to indict d' andre charles. the rabbi was fatally shot by two young men in 2014 during a visit to husband daughter in >> reporter: well that's right chris and mary . police are called this an armed robbery at this hour they are searching for two male hispanic suspects. let's show you video we shot just a short time ago of police canvassing this area in and around central park. this happened around 3:00 this morning here at west 70th street and central park west. cops say the suspect took off on foot with money, phone and shoes. no word yet on who the victim is but we did see a man without shoes getting into the back of a police car. investigators say one of the suspects was wearing brown timberland boots, one was wearing a black north face jacket and there have been three other muggings near and around central park since monday night at west 95th street, west 91st street near the reservoir and at east 86th street. all of these took place late at night and into the overnight hours. those have left people who usually travel through here who we spoke with last night on edge. >> my mom used to send me every happen and be like please stop walking through the park at night but will you stop? week fire commissioner daniel nigro and nypd promised the jewish community increased police presence as investigators work to find the suspect. >> i lay in my bed at night and hear those fire engines going past my house and i say "oh, no not another one." >> many at a community meeting expressing their fear aunt the man still on the run hoping the increased attention will lead to his arrest before father, grandfather and rabbi taken too soon. joseph raxon, miami-dade investigators announce wednesday for the first time this is the face of the person who murdered him, a teenager d' andre charles. >> his murder has caused an emptiness and void that can not be replaced. >> his daughter waited for more than a year for the news police made an arrest in the case. >> we want this vicious thug to be prosecuted not you'll its extent the law allows. >> d' andre charles 14 at the during a robbery on saturday in august 2014 as he walked to a synagogue. the killer got nothing prosecutors say because jews are forbidden from carrying money during the sabbath. state attorney katherine fernandez says charles shot raxon in the chest with a semiautomatic handgun. >> this man called, and he didn't have any money so he shot and killed him. as sad as that. >> police say they used this sketch of a suspect by a witness phone records and dna to piece together the circumstantial case. a police source tells cbs 4 news investigators found items at the crime scene that contains d' andre charles dna. police are still looking for two people involved in the crime. the person with charles at the time and a get away driver. miami-dade police have a message for those involved. >> turn yourselves in. or we will come get you. >> the suspect will be charged as an adult with first degree murder and attempted robbery with a firearm. outbursts in court for a man charged with killing three people last month at a colorado planned parenthood clinic. >> kill the babies that's what planned parenthood be no trial. his public defender is now questioning whether dear is competent to stand trial. a hearing is scheduled later this month. new video of a taxi driver being dragged away in downtown toronto morning robbery near central park. >> it's just the latest of several muggings reported this week near or in the park. cbs 2 andrea grymes joins us live from the upper west side. andrea? >> reporter: well chris and mary police tell us a 33 year old man was held up at gunpoint here at west 70th street and central park west just a few hours ago this morning right outside central park. let's show you video that we shot of police canvassing the area. we're told they are searching for two hispanic men. this happened around 3:00 this morning. cops say the suspect took off on foot with money, a phone and shoes. we did see a man without shoes getting into the back of a police car. investigators say the suspect with the gun is 5-foot 10 with a mustache wearing timberland boots and a black north face jacket. eight with a stocky build wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and his hair in broads. now coincidentally there have been three other muggings in and around central park this week since monday night at west 95th street and west drive, west 91st street near the reservoir, and at east 86th street all of these happening late at night into the overnight hours and its left many people around this new video proves this man is not only dangerous because he's destroyed all of these homes they say the video shows that he is armed as well. responsible according to police for destroying homes all across this neighborhood including one here behind me on 112th street they are hoping these new images lead to an arrest. newly released surveillance video of the accused arsonist who appears to be limping near the area where the first fire is set. the mans face is cover as he uses gloved hands to move a handgun from his left ankle and to the right pocket of his hooded sweatshirt just minutes before police say he set fire to the home near 112th street and 68th drive in forest hills. it's the latest surveillance responsible for at least seven fires in the community, set upset with those central park on the upper west side. andrea? >> reporter: well chris and mary this happened just a few hours ago here at west 70th street and central park west. you usually don't hear about these types of crimes in this location but police say this was an armed robbery, a 33 year old victim held up at gunpoint and now they are searching for two suspects. let's show you video we shot just a short time ago of police canvassing this area. this happened around 3:00 this morning, cops say the suspects took off on foot with money, a phone, and jordan sneakers. we did see a man without shoes getting into the back of a police car. investigators say the suspect with the gun is five foot 10 with a mustache wearing timberland boots and a black north face jacket. the second suspect a stocky build wearing jean, a black coincidentally as you both mentioned off the top there are three other muggings in and around central park this weekend since monday night at west 95th street and west drive, west 91st street near the reservoir and east 86th street. all happening late at night and into the early morning hours and they left people who traveled through central park on edge. >> my mom used to always send me every article any time anything would happen here and be like please stop walking through the park at night. >> will you stop? >> yeah i think i will. >> i usually don't walk through the park at night for reasons like that. it's scary. >> police say preliminarily this morning they do not believe that the armed robbery from this morning is connected to those muggings but with these posters hoping that somebody would recognize the suspect and then they get this new surveillance video where they realize this man is not only dangerous but he's armed as well. we want to them soon. this same suspect on camera in two other instances in this neighborhood. right now they are offering a $12, 500 reward for any information leading to an arrest. reporting live this morning
