thank you. police are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a car in new jersey last night. >> two women in the car were wounded. andrea grymes is live where the women are in the hospital this morning. >> reporter: well, chris and mary, the two victims were taken here to university hospital in newark in critical condition. let's show you some video from last night. police say they got the the call around 7:30 for shots fired in the 900 block of middlesex street. both females were in a car, they say and, shot multiple times. police say they then drove to east henry street and bower street where the car they were in crashed into a pole. a neighbor we spoke with said the violence is getting ridiculous. >> i think about my kids. and i think about myself too. because it's not even safe around here no more. everybody used to come here and live. you can't come here and live no more. >> reporter: no word yet from police on the if itys of the two women who were shot, their ages or the chicago area, bracing for more heated protests today following the release of a white officer. the video shows the 17-year-old being rittled with bullets from officer jason van dyke's weapon. he continued to shoot the teen as he lay on the ground. protesters clashed with police on the city streets into the morning. >> 16 shots! 16 shots! >> i believe this is a moment that can build bridges of understanding rather than become a barrier of misunderstanding. >> van dyke is being held without bond. if convicted, he faces 20 years to life behind bars. he is the first chicago police officer to ever be charged with murder while on duty. president putin is denouncing the turkey's shoot down of a russian war plane. one of the pilots was killed by ground fire. turkey says the plane violated its air space. russia called the action, quote, a stab in the back and warned of significant consequences. it's the first time in half a century that a nato member has down thed a russian plane. after an emergency meeting, the nato secretary general said they stand with turkey. it was a place both fitting and shocking for an abandoned newborn to be found, in the middle of a church nay at thisty scene. authorities are looking for the woman who left a baby boy at the holy child jesus church monday. a church custodian returning from lunch heard the child's cries coming from the scene by the altar. >> news for people who live in the neighborhood where this happened. as you mentioned, the two women are here at university hospital in critical condition. last night. police say they got the call last night in the 900 block of middlesex street. both women were in a car when investigators say they were shot multiple times. police say the women then drove to east henry street anders street where -- and bowers street where the car crashed into a utility pole. >> i think about my kids. and i think about myself too. because it's not even safe around here no more. everybody used to come here and live. you can't even come here and live no more. >> reporter: there were many bullet holes in the cars as you can see from the video. and no word yet from police on the identities of the victims, their ages or the relationship to each other. also at this point, no word on any description of a suspect, how many gunmen or people there were who were firing the shots. we hope to get more from heightened terror concerns this morning as millions get ready to travel by, a road and train this thanksgiving holiday. >> a worldwide travel warning remains in effect both overseas and here at home. we have live team coverage. we begin with janelle burrell live from laguardia this morning. >> reporter: well, chris with the tighter security we're already seeing some extra long lines here at laguardia airport as people begin to check in for their flights. and the same holds true at the security check points as well. and with that travel alert in effect, officials are urging people to be extra cautious and extra patient as well. >> i have to travel for work so i don't have much of a choice. >> reporter: the heightened concern about terror threats on the minds of many traveling on what is one of the busiest travel days of the year. the state department issuing a worldwide terror alert for americans. president barack obama yesterday urging the public to be vigilant but not give in to fear. >> that's how terrorists win. we cannot give them the victory of changing how we go about living our lives. >> reporter: as part of the alert, federal officials are telling people to be especially cautious in large crowds. ahead of the balloons for the thanksgiving day parade being inflated, you can see the increase in security at the end of the parade route in midtown. >> they're everywhere. >> you like that? >> i like that. i love that. that's very important. >> there will be a lot of police presence, things the public will see and of course things the public will not see. >> reporter: the nypd planning to have hundreds of extra police officer, mobile camera, helicopters and mounted units. >> some of the officers will be equipped with the long guns, the rifles. we will have additional hercules team, those are the heavily armed entities that will be around the area of the parade route. >> whenever you're around large crowd, this is places where they would target but i don't worry about it. you can't live in fear. >> reporter: now police commissioner bill bratton stresses that the there are no specific or credibility threats here in the city but -- specific or this morning, we have seen a bigger presence of officers here at penn station. of course, this will be bustling with activity today, get-away day, the day before thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel days of the year. and already, you see more officers down in the station. and across the city, we know that the nypd has put extra officers out on patrol. and they have even deployed their new counterterrorism unit across the city as well this weekend. so expect to see that, especially with the macy's thanksgiving day parade taking place here tomorrow like janelle burrell eluded to. and one thing law enforcement across the country have been told to look out for in the wake of the paris terror attacks is that over in parrish they believe that those attackers -- paris, they believe that those attackers they carried out their acts. so officers have been told to look out for suspicious people, especially soft locations like restaurants and things like that, suspicious people that can be doing surveillance. certainly if you are traveling around the the city this weekend, get used to seeing a heavy presence of police officer, especially here at penn station today and through the year. warn, the video from october 2014, is graphic and disturbing. it shows the 17-year-old being rittled with bullets from an officer's gun. the officer continued to shoot the teen as he lay on the ground. the officer is being held without bond. testers were on the streets into this morning and at times clashed with police. we will have a live report from chicago in the next half hour. just in time for thanksgiving, the boil water advisory has been lifted in ho beken but water is gushing into the streets after sunday's water main break. the water company says it's working to fix the main line that brings water from jersey city to ho beken. the city is now receiving water from a transmission line. it could take several days before the main line is 100% fixed. the jury deliberating the fate of former new york assembly speaker sheldon silver will continue today. yesterday less than two hours into deliberation, a juror asked to be excused saying she was feeling pressured and stressed out. the judge refused saying it was too early to excuse a juror. police have released a photo of a man wanted in questioning in the fatal shooting of a governor's aide. police released this image of a no arrests have been made in the case. a not guilty plea from the man charged in the murder of a police officer in east harlem last month. officers crowded in the court yesterday and then stared down accused killer tyrone howard. prosecutors say he was running from another shooting in the east river houses when officer randolph holder spotted him and chased him. that's when howard allegedly upper manhattan supermarket overnight. the call came in around 1:15 this morning in harlem. dozens of additional fire trucks were later called in with more than 100 firefighters on the scene. the and out of laguardia this morning. as many as 300,000 people expected to fly in and out of this airport between now and sunday. and with that travel alert in effect, people here tell us they are being minds of many traveling on one of the busiest travel days of the year. the state department issuing a worldwide terror alert for americans. president barack obama yesterday urging the public to be cautious in large crowds. ahead of the balloons for the thanksgiving day parade, you can see the increased security at the tend of the parade route in midtown. >> they're everywhere. i love that. reporter: demonstrators clashed with police into the early morning. as they blocked intersection after intersection. the chaos erupted hours after authorities released this video gruesome dash cam van dyke continue to shoot the teen as he lay on the ground. and many are wondering why it took prosecutors 1 months to file murder charges against him. >> working with the federal partners at the reporter: the bishop says the baby boy was just a few hours old when a church custodian returning from lunch monday heard his cries and found him in the nativity scene at the altar. the father could not believe his eyes. >> i was shocked and yet really moved by it. you know, it's -- the church is meant to be a home for those in need and, you know, pope francis preaches about mercy and this is actually a year of mercy and what more merciful way to live but to give a home to someone in need. >> reporter: a school nurse tended to the newborn until an ambulance arrived to take the churches are university hospital in new. as you mentioned, taken here in critical condition. and let's show you video that we shot last night. police say they got a call around 7:30 last night for shots fired on middlesex street. both women were in a car when investigators say they were shot multiple times. police say the women then drove to east henry street where the car crashed into a utility pole. a neighbor we spoke with said the violence is ridiculous. >> think about my kids. and i think about myself too. because it's not even safe around here no more. everybody used to come here and live. you can even come here and live no more. >> reporter: in word yet on the identities of the victims or the ages and no description yet of a suspect from police. and of course no arrests have been made. reporting live this morning in newark, andrea grymes, cbs 2 fire strikes an upper manhattan supermarket overnight. the call came in around 1:15 this morning in harlem. dozens of additional fire trucks were calmed in with more than 100 firefighters onscene. the windows of the store were blown out but it doesn't appear anyone was inside the store and no injuries were reported. the cause is under investigation. a not guilty plea for the man charged in the murder of a police officer in east harlem last month. officers crowded into court yesterday and then stared down accused killer tyrone howard. prosecutors say he was running from another shooting in the east river houses when officer randolph holder spotted him near afoot bridge and chased him. and that's when howard allegedly shot holder in the head. >> the public is watching as well to make sure there's justice. to make sure there's justice for police officer holder. to make sure there's justice for his family. >> howard faces life in prison if convicted. he already has five convictions for drug dealing and a sixth for armed robbery. police have released the photo of a man wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of an aide to governor cuomo. in september, he was caught in cross fire of rival gangs. so far, no arrests have been made in the case. new video this morning shows a suspect connected to five burglaries in bronx. all happened within a two-hour period on monday. two busies were hit on 172nd street and two others on st. lawrence avenue and one on archer street. in each case, the man entered the businesses and took cash from the cash register totaling around $2,800. a long island house explodes in flames and police say a scorned lover nearly burned down his ex-girlfriend's home. and today the ex-boyfriend will be arraigned on arson charges. police say the 21-year-old threw a molotov cocktail through an upstairs window and covered a car with gasoline. everyone managed to get out alive. and investigators say this wasn't his first attempt. he is accused of trying to do the same thing a week ago. >> apparently that didn't work so i guess somebody came back to finish the job. >> whoever did this needs to pay. justice has to be served. >> the couple broke up two years ago. no word on what motivated him to set the fire allegedly. the jury begins the second day of deliberations in the trial of sheldon silver. he is accused of taking about $4 million in bribes and kickbacks. yesterday less than two hours into deliberation, a juror asked to be excused, saying she was feeling pressured and,
