The third floor is dedicated entirely to new Jersey Transit, and it accounts for 60 of terminal traffic, and most of the coach usa gates will be consolidated on the fourth floor, and the goal is to slow down the operations during peak travel times, and the changes could lessen the overcrowding for passengers waiting for the buses. The gate changes start this morning, and that means tens of thousands of passengers will be taking detours, and the warning signs are now posted across the Port Authority bus terminal, and for the last few days, crews have been handing out flyers to daily commuters to explain how to avoid the confusion. The first floor is dedicated entirely to new Jersey Transit, accounting for 60 of terminal traffic, and also, most of the coach usa gates will be consolidated to the fourth floor, and the goal is to ease the traffic jams during peak times, and it could lessen the overcrowding issues for passengers waiting for the buses. Consolidating the operations for new Jersey Transit and coach to give them better command and control over the bus operation to improve the efficiency of the bus operation.
