When someone is pushy with me, i actually push back even if i want the thing they are trying to sell me or give to me. Exactly. And then its a mess. This is a delicate balance. You want to be bold but not aggressive. You want to be subtle but not a door mat. This is one where an inperson interaction is your best bet. Dont email, dont call. Walk across the office and talk to somebody and make sure you get that facetoface. And i also like that you say, ben, be genuine. If youre authentic, thats whats most important. Of course. And most people with spot a phony a mile away. And you really want to be interacting with people that are genuine. And thats the way most exchanges happen. So thats a good way to be assertive, but not aggressive with people that are genuine. That may be my favorite point. You can follow these tips, but quite frankly, if youre not being who you are, if youre trying to remember things, people can sniff it out. This is all great advice, like, for a meeting, where you want to be confident when youre talking but also focused when listening so youre making eye contact. Your body language is open. And i had all of these body ale wants from a really young age and really horrible food sense activities. And any time i ate something, it would have a complete reverse reaction on me. But nobody could figure out what was wrong with me. And i went on a 12yearlong journey trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Because nobody could figure it out. You also say youve had to prepare. Actresses have to prepare for a film you find out two days before you have to be naked like in orange is the new black. Oh, yeah. I booked orange is the new black with 14 hours notice. Which is great. Thank you. And the the first scene, actually that we had to do together was a shower scene where i was naked. Oh this is a pg we will show the other one. Were you self conscious . When i knew my first scene is the shower scene, i literally looked i dont think i ate for maybe 48 hours. And i was so stressed out. I was like, oh, my god. Because, you know, the show was so incredible. And i just wanted to do a really good job. I wanted to, you know, really represent myself in a great way. And i was like, oh, my god. Its hard. You have a lot of talent that comes from your mom. But youre going to show us how to make this coconut chicken almond. Okay. So one of the things is because i learned everything from my mother and she is a gourmet chef, she was always like everything from scratch. But the i think is, i work really long hours. The whole point is to have two quick easy cooking sessions. Its super easy. Coconut milk. So youre basically going to put coconut flakes in there with some hot. In a blender, hot water. Pulse it a couple times if you want to it turn it on lucky for us, its already whoa there we go. All right. We did it. Okay. And look how balanced that is. I know. And put it in here. This is super easy. Put in some cheese cloths and squeeze it out, right . And i do the same thing with my almond milk. When i make my own almond milk. Hoda, you should make that. You can use this to make pina coladas. Thank you for that, laura. So with this coconut milk what youre going to do is take the chicken in the coconut milk. You can marinate it for an hour were doing the best we can its all good. The whole point is we can do Something Like that. Yes so then you can do this for soak it for an hour, overnight. This is some almond flour. So this is what were going to do now. Can you get almond flour at your local Grocery Store . Absolutely. So many people have sensitivity to gluten nowadays because of everything thats happening with our food. Were going to put everything in there, spices, salt, pepper, couplin, cayenne, garlic powder. And that becomes the coating. So you have your marinated chicken and so what were going to do is we have about 30. One of the things you say is keep cooking. Which i think is good, you can make this food and store it, and stash it. Right. The whole point is, the book is supposed to make your life easier. So twice a week cooking sessions, make your food, put it in the fridge. And every morning, i make all my meals. Can i say something, this is fantastic isnt it great . All organic, hormonefree chicken. You say people starve themselves but this is a real meal. Absolutely. A local lifestyle plan.
