So last night, she and i went downstairs, we put on disguises and pretended to be buskers in the 50th street subway station. [ light laughter ] it was so fun. And that wasnt the craziest thing ive ever done. Jimmy no, but it by even a little bit. Jimmy but youll remember it. [ light laughter ] but it was definitely memorable. Jimmy youll remember. Yeah. Yeah. Jimmy i remember i came in [ laughter ] most appropriately crazy. Jimmy but weve that whole thing really went down in realtime. That was probably we were down i mean we had a crew set up down there, with, like, hidden cameras, like yeah. Jimmy that look like iphones and stuff like that. So they said but we were down there for ten minutes, max . It was crazy. It was like and i didnt know how recognizable we really would be. I mean, you were getting called as Billy Ray Cyrus right on. [ laughter ] i think they knew jimmy no, no, no. I think you. Jimmy no, i knocked on your door. You were in disguise. They knew it was me. And they thought it was me and my dad. [ laughter ] i thought it was me and my dad. Jimmy no. And then you took it off and i was like, holy [ bleep ] my dad is jimmy fallon. Jimmy no, no thats not true im not your dad yeah. Jimmy im not your dad. Now look. Not what my mom says. Jimmy now, look. Now, look, i [ laughter ] but i did but i did knock on your dressing room door. I knocked and i go and i was in my costume as bart. Jimmy as bart. As bart. Jimmy yeah, and you were charlene. Jimmy charlene. And i went in and knocked and i go, hey. And you go, oh, gosh, i really thought you were my dad. [ laughter ] and i had just left nashville. And i thought somehow he had, like, followed me and gotten in my luggage. [ laughter ] i told him he couldnt come on this trip and there he was. Jimmy in your luggage. Yeah. He never escaped. Jimmy but we came in and i just honestly, people just love you. I never saw that type of reaction happen that fast to anyone. It was like seriously i was trying to say 20, 30 seconds into jolene because your voice is so good. And you saw that girl just walking there, like, huh . [ laughter ] i love you so much. And you know, i havent playing party in the usa for a while since, like my bangerz tour, i havent really gotten to do that and so [ cheers and applause ] it was super cool. And i had just done the gay pride parade the day before. [ cheers and applause ] so party in the usa has been getting a lot of love. And its always good, you know, for me to remember how much people really love those classic songs and inspires me to do them more. So, im excited that it makes me relove my songs because i love how much people love them. Jimmy and it wasnt even just sometimes people just know the chorus. Theyre like they knew it all. Jimmy gentlemen, sing us a a song. And theyll do that. And you go every single word. I couldnt even get them more hyped up. Im like, they dont need a a hype man. [ light laughter ] everyone knew every word to your song. It was honestly perfect. I was, like, super excited for the experience and again to, like, refall in love with songs that ive been singing for years and years. Its fun to sometimes you know have fun singing them because you sing them so many times. And so when you see how much they mean to other people even if its something as silly as, you know, we cant stop or party in the usa or whatever it is. Jimmy yeah. It makes people happy and thats what i like to do. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy good. And i got to say congrats on malibu. And i love malibu. [ cheers and applause ] its a great, great song. And i dont know if this is much better, but i stopped smoking because, and you know, to sit here and to talk about what im doing, i want to be really clear because im actually the most passionate about what im doing with this record then ive been i say this every time, but i loved making this record so, so much, and this record for me at this moment is the most important album that ive ever made. So i wanted to make sure that im super clear about the way im talking. And i kept having this nightmare. It was seriously horrible. I wonder if youve had this. Not about this show. [ light laughter ] i had a dream that i would die during my monologue on snl for some reason. That i would just get so stoned that i just like die. [ laughter ] which ive googled and its never happened. Jimmy no, no, its not. No, thank god. But i kept having this nightmare. Jimmy how much weed were you smoking . A lot of weed. [ laughter ] its like no ones ever died from weed but no ones ever smoked as much as i did. So [ laughter ] its like they dont really know. So i dont know. I was just thinking if i want to sit on this couch and really tell people what i think about my new music, i wanted to sound as smart as hopefully i, you know, think that i could be and really explain what im doing. And, you know, i really just want to sit at home and eat basically when im stoned. [ laughter ] jimmy yeah, and and play with my dogs and the cat and the pig. I was spending way too much time with the pig. Jimmy yeah. [ laughter ] and not enough time actually doing really anything. Yeah. Jimmy but you ended up did you move to a place or you always lived in malibu . I no. Malibu is new to me. I never lived at the beach. I, you know, i never came to the beach, i never stood by the ocean, which is true. I went ocean one time which i want to talk to you about this. I went one time to florida with my family. And it didnt go well because we fist fought the entire way and my dad promised hed never take us on vacation ever again. And hes a man of his word. He never did. Jimmy but that was the only vacation . But it was so miserable. And finally me and my brother, we were fighting so hard, this is like some hillbilly stuff. [ laughter ] he locked us out of the car on the side of the freeway and said that we need to figure it out. [ laughter ] we basically just had to battle until one of us lost. Jimmy i love that he did that. That is so yeah. Jimmy nashville. And then we didnt get to get back in the car. Jimmy yall better figure it out. Yeah. Jimmy you understand . [ laughter ] were pulling over. Until one of us were bleeding then we didnt get back in the rv. So we never went again. And, you know, i dont think for me, like, being from nashville, it really is a dream come true in malibu, it really is for me. Because i thought i was going to be i still get the pig, but i thought my life was going to revolve, you know, around farm life my entire, you know, my life, i thought id always live in nashville. But now ive even found a new love for nashville, now that im out singing about how much i love malibu, i been promoting it. Jimmy you cant and now i miss nashville. Jimmy you could be i never know what the hell i want. Jimmy you can [ laughter ] thats why im like a panda and one day im a cat. Jimmy yeah. I dont even know. I cant even decide between a a panda and a cat. Jimmy you could as much miley as you can, you experience, you can never take the nashville out of miley and i will tell you no. Because i was a rookie the first time so blake and adam had that against me. And now i have, like, a little bit of experience. So im trying to decide, like who im going to i guess all three of us can just team up against blake. But im trying to decide who going be my partner in crime. Because alicia was my partner last year and it was really fun to kind of go against adam and blake. Because they were the vets and we were in it together. Jimmy i know. I think you have to choose jennifer. I know. Jimmy because blake knows adam too well, now. Adam is ready to turn. He is not loyal. Ill tell you that about him. [ laughter ] ill let you in.
