Hundreds pounded the pavement with friends and coworkers to launch the philadelphia marathon weekend. This race is compromised of groups of five or more who are called the fast ones. There was one group of a dozen running. Now, this run is watched closely by the counterterrorism unit and swat officers, Philadelphia Police department in light of the terrorist attacks in paris and the bombing at the boston marathon. Protecting the athletes and the is a top priority. The race also included a few wheelchair athletes and dozens of walkers. We also caught a glimpse of mayor high fiving the runners. At least one American Woman was among those 20 People Killed in the attack at a hotel, and she had ties to our region. That victim has been identified as anita datar. She lived in the washington, d. C. Area, raised in new jersey, and graduated from rutgers university. The attack started yesterday morning when Armed Islamic extremists stormed the Raddison Blu Hotel in mali taking approximately 170 people hostage and released only those who could prove they were muslim. The siege continued all day until Security Forces were able to kill the gunmen and free the rest of the hostages. Al Qaeda Linked Group claimed responsibility for this attack. In belgium, the threat level in brussels raised to the highest possible level, level 4, meaning severe or very close. In the past fews, police there carried out a number of raids linked to the attacks in paris. On that note, investigators have found a third body in one of those raids at an apartment in saint denis, france. These are photos from the raid. Authorities say the body belongs to a 26yearold woman, the cousin of the suspected ring leader. Police say he was also killed in that raid. The terrorist attacks have people in our areaing for unity and peace with our allies in france, and with our neighbors here at home. A large group gathered and lit candles on main street in doylestown last night to show support. Many in fact group tells us they support allowing sere yoo refugees to resettle in pennsylvania. Organizers say amid a time of fear and worry its important to stand up for families fleeing from terror in their homeland.
