Reporter 13 women claim to have been assaulted by bill cosby. Some accusers have accounts that date back to the late 1960s. In the end the judge is allowing only one woman to testify. She claims bill cosby assaulted her in a Beverly Hills hotel room in the 1990s. The woman claims cosby forced her to take a pill and she was offered red wine. Some say the womans account is similar to that of andrea constand, the woman at the center of this Sexual Assault case. She claims cosby assaulted her in 2004 in his cheltenham home after she drank red wine and took pills he offered her. In 2005 the District Attorney then declined to prosecute cosby. The case was given new light after a flood of women came forward. In a battle for District Attorney, the eventual winner used the cosby case in his campaign ad. Defense attorneys say kevin steal branded cosby a sexual predator. Defense says the International Headline and this ad are only some of the reasons why the case should be moved out of Montgomery County. Even if the judge sides with the defense, it wont be up to either side to determine where the case goes. That decision will be made by the pennsylvania supreme court. Deanna durante, nbc 10 news. This morning Philadelphia Police continue to search for clues after family members found a woman dead insight her Port Richmond home. Detectives returned to mercer street yesterday to talk to neighbors and to look for evidence. Relatives found the 57yearold victim beaten and laying in a pool of blood friday night in her living roocm. Electronics were missing. There were no signs of a breakin and investigators did not find a weapon at the scene. Who would do such a thing to a woman like that, come right in the house . The defense has fought this case saying cosby couldnt be prosecuted after the District Attorney in 2005 declined to prosecute and says the case is now only after the current District Attorney used cosby and the case in campaign ads, promising to get cosby convicted. The defense says he was labeled as a sexual predator in these ads and that is one of the many reasons they will be seeking to have these case removed from Montgomery County. They say they cannot get an impartial jury here, that the prosecutor on the other hand is saying the case should remain in the county but is not opposed to a jury from coming from outside the county. Will it be difficult for perez to unite them with the party . I think step one was doing what he did. Im curious and one of my questions is whether ellison and perez had a deal that whoever won, the other would agree to serve as the deputy chair as a quick show of unity. I think it was an important moment because it did look like it was could get ugly in there because the ellison supporters were so upset. The sanders people havent been happy since, especially they look at Hillary Clinton losing and think Bernie Sanders could have won. They look at Donald Trumps most successful jobs messaging when it comes to trade deals and things like that and think, gees, Bernie Sanders was making those same arguments. I dont know if theyre going to be longterm happy with this pick. It wasnt that long ago that perez was outside the mainstream, too conservative. I think everything is subjective depending on your point of view. The good news for tom perez, hes got donald trump as a unifying force. Donald trump may unify democrats better than any democrat can. The problem is he has a grassroots problem. The partys inability to win down the ballot has put the party in the situation where it seems like they dont have a bench, dont have major levers of power. Thats his bigger challenge going forward. Chuck, i also want to tack to you about prom nechbt congressman darrell issa saying a special prosecutor should investigate russias alleged involvement in the election. Any chance this will gain traction across the gop . It could. Here is why. The white house put republicans in a precarious position when they reached out to the heads of the senate and house intelligence committees, two people that may lead investigations into the russia issue and reached out to the fbi, this idea of the white house talking to folks that may be investigating them may leave some republicans elected republicans politically believing they have no chanoice but to endorse the idea of a special prosecutor because those folks may be compromised in this investigation.
