today, but you do need to be prepared for some spotty showers and thunderstorms that will move through the area. you'll also need to be prepared for temperatures that are going to boost up into the 80s. humidity that's going to boost up, kind of a sticky day, overall. 0 70 in wilmington. 67 in millville and 69 in atlantic city. philadelphia is at 69 degrees, as well. and we're at 68 in allentown. not a bad start. temperatures feel pretty good right now, but you already are noticing that humidity. you can kind of feel the moisture in the air. you're also going to notice right now some misting outside, some fogginess. and now we actually see that there are some spotty severe thunderstorms that are starting to develop over parts of delaware. a lot of us starting to skip the bay and move into parts of south jersey, cape may county starting to see a little rain moving through. when you see the yellows and oranges, that indicates a little heavier rain, an isolated thunderstorm may start to pop. but overall, not seeing any lightning associated with any of the cells developing this morning. look at our temperature trend as we go through the rest of the day in philadelphia. going from the low 70s up to around the low to mid-80s. when we get temperatures that warm, in the afternoon, we could see some thunderstorms fire off, because we have plenty of moisture to tap into, and that moisture goes nowhere. so we'll continue with that chance of storms for your father's day and especially monday. we'll talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. >> we'll be watching it. all right, thank you, krystal. three hours from now, the jury will resume their deliberations in the bill cosby sexual assault trial in montgomery county. this saturday session will be their sixth day of trying to reach a verdict. nbc 10 ease cydney long is live at the courthouse in norristown to tell us more about the day ahead. cydney? >> reporter: rosemary, this trial has been an exhaustive task for this jury. they have already put in 52 hours of deliberations this week. but despite demands for a mistrial, which the jury does not know about, the judge is allowing them to press on and on a day when courthouses are usually locked. so they will return at 9:00 this morning on this day before father's day. cosby, one of america's favorite dads spoke out for the first time during his trial. >> mr. cosby, how are you feeling? >> i just -- i just want to wish all of the fathers a happy father's day and i want to thank you the jury for their long day. >> for the sixth straight day, jurors will work to reach a verdict in the bill cosby sexual assault trial. is he guilty of the crime or was the 2004 encounter between cosby and then-friend, andrea constand, consensual? that is the task and it's come with 52 hours of deliberations, as well as numerous questions for testimony to be re-read. we asked retired new jersey superior court judge, michael doneio, after being deadlocked on thursday, his take on how this story must be feeling at this time. >> they are willing to do whatever it takes to get to a verdict in this case. they're not willing to throw in the towel unless they have unturned every loose leaf, every "i," every "t" crossed. their tenacity is unbelievable. >> reporter: on friday, jurors asked for five things. among them, the definition of reasonable doubt, along with testimony of constand's police officer brother-in-law from canada, who initially counseled her and her family to call authorities. it's unclear just how long this judge will allow jurors to weigh the evidence, considering it is a weekend, so the big question is on day six, will there be some consensus? can this jury reach a unanimous decision on one count, on two, or all three of them, nbc 10 app. developing overseas this morning, seven u.s. sailors are missing following a collision between a navy destroyer and a merchant ship. a massive search is now onway. the "uss fitzgerald" suffered heavy damage on the right side after the crash. part of the destroyer then flooded, but it's not in danger of sinking. the ship's commanding officer along with two other crew members were injured, airlifted to a hospital. the navy along with the japanese coast guard have launched a widespread search nor the missing sailors. president trump has been briefed on this crash and is monitoring the situation. new overnight, police are trying to track down a woman who stabbed another woman. the 27-year-old was stabbed one time in the back in the fair hill section of north philly. this happened earlier this morning. the victim went to temple hospital. she is expected to survive. the search has been suspended for two teens missing in the waters down the shore. 16-year-old kaliyah hand of atlantic city and ramon quinn disappeared in the ocean in atlantic city late thursday. after a full day of searching yesterday, there was no sign of the teens. their families tell us they're heartbroken. >> fathom losing your child, especially at that young of an age. it hurts. >> officials tell us kaliyah hand got caught in a rip current half an hour after lifeguards went off-duty. quinn tried to save her. now to a new discovery in the attack on members of congress this week. investigators say they've uncovered a chilling list made by the gunman who opened fire at the congressional baseball practice. the list contains the names of house republicans. according to authorities, james hodgkinson had the list with him, as he shot at members of congress in alexandria, virginia, on wednesday. the list included congressman trent franks of arizona, jeff duncan of south carolina, mo brooks, of alabama, and a few others who have not yet been named or revealed. police shot and killed hodgkinson during the attack. house majority whip steve scalise was critically wounded in the shooting. doctors say, quote, an excellent recovery is a good possibility wednesd, end quote. but they added that scalise will need more surgeries and rehabilitation. scalise remains in critical condition but is improving. let's stay in washington. there is a call to unite as concern grows that president trump could fire the top investigator in the russia probe. just yesterday, the top democrat on the house intelligence committee asked congress to stop the president if he tries to remove special counsel, robert mueller. this all comes as president trump has hired another lawyer to deal with the russia investigation. john dowd joins trump's other high-profile attorney, marc kasowitz. dowd has represented other politicians, including john mccain. president trump seemed to acknowledge yesterday that he is under federal investigation, tweeting, "after seven months of investigations and committee hearings about my collusion with the russians, nobody has been able to show any proof. sad." later, he lashed out at deputy attorney general rod rosenstein saying, "i am being investigated for firing the fbi director by the man who told me told me to fire the fbi director. witch hunt." that, of course, is a reference to the president's firing of now former fbi director, james comey. meantime, the president's latest financial disclosures has become public and it shows he earned nearly $595 million through january 2016 through april of this year, half a billion dollars, that is. $20 million of that came from revenue from his new home in washington. that's been the focus of concern over foreign payments. $19 million came from his golf club in some showers and thunderstorms develop. all of us have cloudy conditions, a lot of us have some fog out there this morning. take a look at delaware, hopping the bay into parts of south jersey. a couple little cells here, you see the reds and oranges near north of middletown and just to the east of smyrna. this is starting to track right on into parts of salem, cumberland county, and it's going to continue tracking along to the northeast. follow that red arrow, and that starts to move closer and closer to camden county, as well. we've got a couple of cells that are developing right now. this is going to continue for the morning hours. some scattered thunderstorms are possible, with some spotty showers, as well. what that means is, throughout today, you need to umbrella handy, but you don't have to cancel all of your plans. it's not a washout. let's go through the next few hours. 8:30, we could see another round of some scattered showers and thunderstorms progressing right through philadelphia, trenton, wilmington, as well. even up to allentown and reading. then into the afternoon, 5:30, some spotty storms developing. could see a scattered thunderstorms yet again. i don't think any of these will be terribly strong, but maybe some lightning, a period of heavier rain possible through the afternoon hours. we go into the night, it's still cloudy, it's still humid. a police officer in the shooting death of a black driver. officer jeronimo yanez was cleared yesterday in the shooting of philando castile. hundreds of protesters took to the streets and even blocked traffic on a highway in st. paul. police arrested 18 of those protesters. it took jurors four days of deliberations before finding the officer not guilty of manslaughter. last july, castile was shot five times during a traffic stop for a broken taillight. the story made national headlines when his girlfriend streamed the aftermath on facebook. castile was shot seconds after he told the officer he was carrying a gun and had a permit. yanez has said he believed castile was reaching for the weapon. >> my son loved this city and this city killed my son. and the murderer gets away. >> them jurors did not have enough human empathy and a conscience to just do the right thing. >> the city of st. anthony, minnesota, now says it will dismiss yanez. that's where he's been an officer, even though he was acquitted in the shooting. eagles wide receiver, tory smith, is speaking out against the officer's acquittal. he tweeted, "it's beating a dead horse, but don't talk to me how offensive kap taking a knee was if you aren't offended by philando castile case." smith's tweet referenced 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem last season in protest of these police-involved incidents. okay. we've got some news now from our lehigh valley bureau. what started as a church fund-raiser ended with a visit from the bomb squad. someone donated a box of military supplies to a yard sale and one item appeared to be a detonator. so the bomb squad came out to remove it yesterday afternoon. authorities didn't think it was dangerous, but had the bomb squad there out of an abundance of caution. let's head over to western skpen pennsylvania and pittsburgh. this will car destroyed when it caught fire yesterday afternoon. fortunately, no one was inside the car. the car was stranded in those floodwaters. third straight day of flooding yesterday, caused by heavy rain and they've got more rain expected this weekend. >> announcer: now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> hate to see video like that. we'll have our own round of heavier rain, but that doesn't come until monday bhap . cloudy conditions across the board, scattered showers and thunderstorms just to the north of us and this area of thunderstorms and spot showers that are trying to develop that have moved through delaware and trying to hit south jersey. stretching from norris river to cape may, that's the heavier rain that's falling, moving kind of slowly, about 25 miles per hour. so it's starting to pass through vineland, get into parts of camden and gloucester county and this is going to continue moving along to the northeast. there's plenty of moisture out there, so it will probably hold together. we should keep with a few of these spot storms moving along as we go through the next several hours of your morning. wouldn't even be surprised if one of these pops over philadelphia for a period of a little heavier rain. nothing long-lasting, though, through the morning hours or in the afternoon, when we may see some scattered thunderstorms, as well. take a look at the temperatures, up to 86 this afternoon in center city and 83 in summerton. lansdale, you're at 84. right near 80 degrees in the lehigh valley. low to mid-80s are possible in new jersey, vorhees at 84. right around to mid- to upper 70s, i believe, at the jersey shore. a little inland, could be a bit warmer. and in delaware, 83 for smyrna. wilmington, up to 86 degrees. now let's talk father's day. today, we will see those 80s and it will be humid. tomorrow, we will see the 80s through around 90 degrees in the afternoon. and it will be even more humid. so in the morning hours, 76 degrees, humid and some fog likely. staying in the humid conditions at 84 degrees, by 11:00 a.m. by 2:00 in the afternoon, 88 for your temperature. steamy now, some of us right near 90 degrees. and by 5:00 p.m., an isolated thunderstorm is possible. so, through the day, we stay cloudy, but i don't think we'll see a ton of rain tomorrow, just some isolate t to scattered storms popping up in the late part of the day. still hot and humid out there. not the best day to be outside with dad. even worse day to be outside with dad will be your monday. we're starting in the morning hours where hours, where we may start to see pockets of heavier rain move through. late morning to early afternoon is when we see the heavier rain start to move in. by 6:00, we've got spotty thunderstorms developing. and even into the tonight, as a cold front passing us, we are looking at heavy rain and some thunderstorms development. this thunderstorm development could be on the severe side of things. that's when you start to see larger hail. winds that can cause damage and flooding concerns. take a look here at our severe thunderstorm outlook risk. now, this is still a couple days out, but we are in the enhanced zone for at least half of our viewing area. that means there is a better potential for us to see those strong-to-severe >> you know, rosemary, i hate when i have to say, eh, so-so weekend, because everyone wants the perfect weekend forecast. we do not have that this saturday and sunday. here are our current temperatures. already it's a little humid out there. and part of the reason you thoe notice that is because there's so much moisture in the air, we have fog and low-hanging clouds this morning. coatesville, you're at 68. 69, atlantic city. even ocean water, that's right off of the atlantic city shoreline, 68 degrees reading this morning. so not bad. temperature boosting up a little bit from where it was a couple weeks ago. overall, we're going to see temperatures move all the way into the 80s over much of the region later on, and that will contribute to it feeling even more humid in the afternoon. radar and satellite video, cloudy conditions across the map, but now we're starting to see some of those pop-up showers and isolated thunderstorms develop as we expected. so not a lot of action here on the board, but we have a little bit of activity. and i want to zoom in on what we do have here. let's go into parts of delaware right now. right noeover parts of new cast county, this is heading towards wilmington and next will be into philadelphia. we have some of the yellows and orange through parts of salem, cumberland county, and even into cape may county, a little bit of that action starting to move over morris river and that will be going along the shoreline. this morning, don't be surprised by at least a period of heavier rain moving by and skirts on off to the northeast. coming up, i want to talk more about the scattered storms of today, the humid conditions of tomorrow, and the rainy conditions of monday. that's all coming up in a few minute minutes. >> please, to the supporters, stay calm, do not argue with people. >> you heard it right there. bill cosby calls for calm from his supporters, just outside the montgomery county courthouse last night. the jury still has not reached a verdict. they will be back to continue deliberations at 9:00 this morning. nbc 10's cydney long is already live at the courthouse for us. she's following what we can expect today. cydney? >> reporter: rosemary, it is certainly quiet right here now, but we can expect this jury, as you said, to a rrive about 9:00 this morning. they will pick up where they left off, about 9:00 last night. that is where a re-read of testimony from andrea constand's brother, who is in lampw enforcement. despite defense calls for a mistrial, the judge is allowing the jury to continue and on a saturday, it's a case where deliberations are lasting longer than the trial itself. bill cosby spoke for the first time last night. >> i want to thank the jury for their long day and their honest work. >> reporter: for the sixth day in a row, jurors will deliberate the evidence and testimony in the bill cosby sexual assault trial. they must decide if the 2004 encounter between cosby and they be-friend, andrea constand, was consensual or forced. this with the admission cosby gave constand pills to relax. he faces the possibility of life behind bars if convicted after reporting to the judge that they were deadlocked earlier thursday, this jury pressed on, continuing the discussion and debate, asking for a testimony for the last two days. cosby's defense lawyers have demanded a mistrial and asked the judge to let it be done. of course, these motions come outside the jury's presence. the judge firing back, saying it has no authority to end the deliberations. retired new jersey superior court judge, michael doneio weighed in. he has this prediction about what could unfold later this morning. >> now they have said, after at least two more days of deliberations, since the first time they said they were deadlocked, they've asked numerous questions, they've come back, they've had readbacks. they've deliberated another couple of days. i am more than sure at this point the judge is going to declare a mistrial in this case. >> reporter: now, doneio has also called this jury who has spent more than two weeks away from their families hard-working and tenacious. only if they are hopelessly deadlocked, rosemary, would it become a hung jury and the judge would then have to declare a mistrial. that means this entire process would have to unfold all over again. we would certainly be listening and watching as all of this starts to unfold. again, this morning, we will brick y bring you the very latest on air and online as it happens. we're live at the montgomery county courthouse in norristown, cydney long, nbc 10 news. >> and you are absolutely right, as long as they keep asking questions, they keep deliberating and the judge will let them deliberate. no tliime limit here. we will continue to follow this throughout the day. if there is a decision this morning, we will bring it to you live right here and throughout the day we'll have alerts on the nbc 10 app. new overnight, a driver hits a man in north philly and takes off. the man in his 20s was struck near the section of olney and park avenue in the logan neighborhood. the victim is recovering in the hospital. let's head on over to delaware county. that's where police are looking for a driver who slammed into a building and sped off. this happened around 3:00 this morning on marshal road in upper dar darby. police tell us the driver hit the building and then backed up and then took off. nobody inside that building, which appears to be some sort of apartment complex, was injured. in dover, delaware, investigators are trying to identify a human skeleton that was found in a wooded area, not too far from where the firefly music festival was happening this weekend. someone walking through the woods discovered the remains thursday night and then called police. cape may county officials are warning folks this weekend about a kidnapping scam. here's the deal. somebody's calling people and demanding ransom money in exchange for the safe return of their loved one. sounds bogus, but the scammers are using technology that replicates the phone number of your loved one, making the scam a little bit more believable. if you receive one of those calls, authorities ask you to call 911. it is now up to members of the philadelphia teacher's union to decide if a new contract will move forward. after four years without a contract, four years of ongoing negotiations, the union and the school district reached a tentative agreement just yesterday. we don't have any other details on this. we'll continue to follow it, of course. school superintendent dr. william hyatt says if approved, this could mean more stability for the district, the teachers, and the students. >> very excited because i said at the beginning of the school year and for the last couple of years, this was a major priority and the fact that we have now reached a tentative agreement means that we've met that goal. >> the teacher union will vote on the new contract at 6:00 p.m. monday. if it is confirmed, it would last through the year 2020. 6:37 on this saturday. wanna get away? "rocky" star sylvester stallone reacted to the director's death on social media. he said, "the greater john g. avildsen who won the oscar for directing "rocky," r.i.p. i'm sure you'll soon be directing hits in heaven." if you are planning a summer trip with your family, consider yourself lucky. a new poll reveals almost half of americans say they won't be taking a trip this summer because they can't afford it. and another reason, workers say, they can't get any paid vacation. i think we all need to move to europe. they get a lot of paid vacation there. today, philly pride weekend continues. the homecoming brumpnch is set r 12:00 this morning. the festival kicked off last night with a block party. it wraps up tomorrow with the annual philly pride parade in center city. a pride week flag has been flying outside of city hall in philadelphia. it's sparking a bit of backlash and a new debate over discrimination. nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal explains why a colorful twist on the flag is causing some controvers controversy. >> at keith stylist' neighborhood bar, the rush to get everything ready for par partyers coming to town. >> to get deliveries done and get everything moving. >> every guest here will get a rainbow flag, the longtime civil of the gay civil right s movemet that began in philadelphia back in the 1960s. since then, pride weekend has become a moment to reflect on equality that's been achieved, but also looking ahead to what still needs to be done. >> the work is cut out for us, but bit by bit, we're chipping away. >> reporter: in the past few years, hunl gains for marriage and civil rights for the wider gay community, but discrimination can still happen and very often it can come from within the community itself. to highlight issues of race, city leaders unveiled this colorful twist on the rainbow flag, adding block and brown stripes to support gay people of color. >> the lbgt community is in no way exempt or immune from the racism that anybody experiences in this country. >> reporter: but that decision was met by some surprising pushback, e-mails to city hall, asking why a white stripe wasn't also included. >> facebook was on fire. you know, on both sides of the fence. but jason echbs says the flag is not meant as a replacement, it's just a chance to shine a spotlight on the tough issue during a weekend meant for tolerance and love. >> race is a problem and it hasn't been addressed in the lbgt community, so we're working towards that. >> at city hall, randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. >> 6:47 right now on this saturday. 69 degrees already outside. yep, we are warming up. i think summer is just about here, even if it's not officially. meteorologist krystal klei is tracking some summerlike showers for us. krystal? >> yeah, wednesda already had a wave this past week. right now, 69 in philadelphia. 64 in the suburbs. you can see the live camera showing us low-hanging clouds and fog skies, mostly cloudy today. and you do see some showers reporting parts of delaware at 70 degrees. also note the winds, east right now coming from the east. but they'll be shifting direction today. a warm front presses in. that's going to boost our temperatures and push in a southwest flow. here are the forecast highs. 86 in philadelphia today. 84 in the suburbs, new jersey. 86 in delaware and just a little cooler in the lehigh valley, in parts of berks county. all of us with the possibility of at least a scattered thunderstorm today, as well. not a washout forecast, but here's what we're seeing now and we could see more of this through the day. just these kind of in and out storms rolling through. nothing terribly heavy right now. a little pocket of heavier rain in parts of new castle county and starting to move into parts of south jersey. that's the yellows, oranges, and reds you see and that does drive all the way down to cape may county, as well. you can see moving over morris river as we speak. this will continue to progress to the northeast here. and it seems to be holding together enough, i wouldn't be surprised if we have a brief period of some heavier rain over philadelphia, as well, in the next hour or two. our temperatures along the shore today, if you're heading there for father's day weekend, not bad. the problem is, they come with the possibility of some showers and scattered thunderstorms this afternoon, as well. 82, rehoboth beach. cape may, 86 degrees. and 78 in atlantic city. on your shore cast for today, 66 to 71 degrees, the water temperatures we're looking at, actually not that bad. you've got to be prepared, if there are any storms today, you head inland. stay for safety, and then when you are able to go back out, enjoy the beach again. 3 to 4 feet for our wave heights and there is a moderate rip current risk, as well. so areas that you could typically see in the eddies, edges of the water that typically see the rip current risk, those are the areas you want to avoid today. hour by hour forecast, take a look as we start today. you can see we've got some of those spotty showers and thunderstorms right now. that will continue in the morning hours, 9:30 a.m., maybe a little stronger near parts of the lehigh valley in berks. go into the afternoon, notice we kind of spectacled the green across the board. not a washout, but some showers and thunderstorms do develop in and out through 6:00 p.m. this evening. cloudy overnight, humid throughout the day tomorrow. we stay with mostly cloudy conditions for your father's day. we've got some spot showers about 3:00 p.m. over the lehigh valley and suburbs. and those showers and thunderstorms do progress farther south along the i-95 corridor, into tomorrow evening. but the big concern here is really, when we get to your monday. 9:00 a.m., starting to see some rain, heavier rain in the afternoon, thunderstorms possible, and we could see strong to severe thunderstorms, which may lead to some damaging conditions. we'll take a look at your ten-day on 10, coming up in jux just a few minutes. >> announcer: this is sports desk brought to you by xfinity, x1 from xfinity will change the way you experience tv. >> hey, i'm john clark from csn. big sixers news. multiple reports say the sixers are really deep in talks with the celtics to trade up for the number one overall pick in the nba draft. it is next thursday night. and one report says they have agreed in principle. the report says the sixers would take this guy, markelle fultz. here he is in april coming out of a sixers tunnel. did he know something?
