The first at juniper and locust streets around 3 00 a. M. Police say the victim was approached by two men demanding money. He ran away but the men followed and again tried to rob him. They shot the victim in the leg. He is okay. The men then tried to rob another person at 15th and spruce. That person struggled with the suspects and another shot was fired but no one was hit. So far, no arrests. F;wu if it doesnt feel right, its not. Its never the wrong time to do whats right. A neighbor seems to uncover a secret. This man, now facing charges, after 12 young girls were found inside his bucks county home. Thats only the beginning of what police are calling a very unusual situation. This Morning Police are working with other agencies to make sure the 12 girls are okay. But theyre also trying to figure out who they are. We know the oldest girl, now 18, was given to the man by her parents. And the man allegedly fathered two of the other children found inside that home. This morning nbc10s Monique Braxton is live in feasterville where those girls were found. Monique. Reporter investigators tell us it appears to have been all about money, saving a family farm out in Lancaster County. We have been here for an hour and this is what weve seen. Crime scene tape blocking the driveway. You see overgrown brush there, trees that have not been trimmed. This was the scene yesterday as details of the alleged crime came to light. The girls found inside, according to investigators, are 6 months to 18 years of age. According to the affidavit, 51yearold lee kaplan admitted to sexually assaulting the eldest girl. She had two children resulting from those alleged attacks. Police also arrested a couple from Lancaster County and charged them with giving their teenaged daughter to kaplan in exchange for help with the familys money woes. Those parents claim the other children found here inside kaplans house are theirs as well. We spoke to kaplans neighbor, who called child protective services. I dont know the situation. I dont know if, you know, theyre kidnapped or if theyre being bought and obviously sold or given as gifts. And i just want them to get help and get back and be happy. They just look sad. Every time you see them. Thats what made me call, you know. Reporter now, over the years neighbors tell us they only saw a handful of children outside of the house. They say the girls seem nervous and were not allowed to talk to anyone. Investigators in bucks county are joined by Lancaster County authorities, and we have also learned that all of the accused adults are scheduled to appear in court in about two weeks. Elizabeth anna floyd is facing third degree murder charges after investigators say she attacked alfred pain on the 500block of marion avenue last september. He died five months later from his injuries. Floyd is set to appear in court next month. Family members, friends and fans continue to remember the life of the voice singer christina grimmie. I always told her i loved her. Christinas mother paid tribute to her daughter while addressing the thousands of people who came out to mourn for the Burlington County native yesterday. A florida man shot and killed grimmie a week ago after a concert in orlando. Marcus grimmie told mourners that his sister died the way she lived, with open arms welcoming others while signing autographs. Gunman came. He was very s< quick. Happened so fast. But her arms were open. The family says grimmies music and the way she lived her life will continue to inspire many others. They have established a scholarship at her former high school in marlton. For security and privacy reasons the family laid the singer to rest on thursday. A Cumberland County grand jury decided not to file charges against two Vineland Police officers after a man died in their custody. Do it now the officers were called to west grape street in march of last year for a disturbance. According to the ruling, the officers got into a scuffle with Phillip White as they attempted to subdue him. It says a canine bit white as he was trying to take one of the officers guns. White was taken to the hospital where he died. The official cause of whites death was a drug intoxication, which suggested white had pcp in his system at the time of his death. The chair of the National Awareness alliance issued a statement following the ruling. It reads in part, three people have been killed in less than six months by Law Enforcement in Cumberland County. It appears that people of color and poor people cannot receive justice when killed by police. New york city also wants to update its penn station. A Development Team wants to build this amusement ride called halo on top of the station. New documents show mateen talked to a fellow recruit in a Florida Department of corrections training class about bringing a gun to the Training Program in 2007. Since we arrived about 5 00 this morning we have seen no activity at this home. You see the crime scene tape is up. To the right there you see that investigators from southampton are still guarding the crime scene. This was the scene as investigators descended on the home on old street road yesterday. All 78 officers will be outfitted with the cameras starting on tuesday. The equipment gives officers the ability to record, store and manage video of their encounters with the public. The pha is the latest in a growing list of local departments using the technology. Septa police began using the cameras earlier this year. Philadelphia police, Chester Police and Delaware State Police all have pilot programs in place. Several communities in south jersey are also using the technology. Philadelphia police joined forces with the community they serve in germantown. Members of the 14th Police District joined a dozen Community Members for a prayer walk last night. The group walked along germantown avenue calling for an end to violence in the city. Happening this weekend, new septa Regional Rail schedules start tomorrow. Overseas police in belgium raided dozens of homes and arrested 12 suspects in a major antiterror investigation which they say required immediate intervention. According to the Belgian Federal Prosecutors Office police searched homes and carports in and around brussels. 40 people were taken in for questioning and 12 were arrested. She will be remembered when the first Cara Mccollum Memorial Scholarship is awarded at this weekends crowning. Her legacy lives on through us, and we were so blessed to have cara a part of us.
