Well also stay dry. Thats the big thing we were watching. Most of the showers will be dry. Looking right know at the current temperatures, as you are waking up in Chester Springs at 52, 57 in kenneth square, 50 degrees in wilmington. 58 degrees in allentown, and 58 degrees in redding. The shoreline, 64 in woodbine, and 61 in melville. A closer look at the satellite. We have seen clouds increase. It will be a cloudy day, but into the rest of today and into tomorrow, all the rainfall right now, looking like its going to stay to the souft of us, which is great. That was a big concern. Your city planner shows that as we go through the day today, 65 degrees by 8 00 a. M. , 11 a. M. , 70 degrees, by 2 00 p. M. , 73. The clouds will thicken. It will be breezy. Well see a cooler wind coming from the east, and about 15 Miles Per Hour up to about 25 Miles Per Hour wind gusts so you want to keep it in mind, especially if you stay out late, but as far as todays concerned, 75 degrees, clouds, breezy, and same thing tomorrow. We have Live Team Coverage of the popes visit to philadelphia, and if youre in the suburb, youre going to need one of these. Very important. Yes. This belongs to a producer, and she said, give it back to me, i need it to get back and forth. You need this, you should have them. You cant just show up at a station today expecting to get one of these for a train. This morning, nbc 10 is live in the Fort Washington station, a station bringing people into center city to see the pope today. Whats it looking like out there . Reporter well, last count, this was the most ticketed station of all 18 septa stations bringing people in. We can tell you, two trains have departed for center city a little less than 100 people. You talked about the pay poll passes. Take a look. If you know the train station, this is a huge parking lot. You cant get on the ground here unless you have a papal pass. You cant park here unless you are a special needs individual that needs parking or a volunteer. All the people you see out there right now are volunteers. There are not even any pmgs on the platform as the train just departed here a few minutes ago headed into the city. Weve talked to a number of people who say they are headed into work. We spoke to a couple that is originally from south america, they arrived here in the Fort Washington area last night, and they were first in line for the train that departed minutes ago. Also, over my shoulder here, you see the Ticket Office here is turned into a command post, you have people in there from septa, various Police Departments, and all of the Police Officers in there coordinating as well as commanders from septa police and tons of volunteers from septa. People are showing up here, setting up tables with food and water. I talked to volunteer who said so far the fact we had just less than 100 people show up is a nice warmup, but, again, they expect thousands here at the train station. Not sure if you can see it, maybe when the suns up more, we have a papal cutout. The card board cutout is here to greet visitors when they arrive here. At this point, though, more volunteers than passengers and number of excited people departed minutes ago. Back to you. Its going to be packed today, thanks. So 9 30 this morning, thats when the popes plane touches down in philadelphia. The red carpet will be rolled out as you expect, but hes not flying into the airport like you would, but flying into Atlantic Aviation, a separate terminal at the airport there since the 1 1950s, all the sports team use it. Used for corporate or private planes. This is a terminal that the president uses when he flies into phillie for visit, and when the popes plane lands this morning, hes greeted by the arch bishop, governor tom wolff and their wives, and members of the world meeting of families will be there. So here is the schedule for the pope after the landing at the airport. At 9 45, the motorcade leaves for the cathedral basilica of saints peter and paul. The mayor arrives just after 10 00. Mass should begin about 40 minutes later, and after the mass, the pope is headed to Independence Hall where hes giving a speech on religious freedom and also immigration. That is scheduled to start just after 4 00, and them at 6 45, the pope arrives at the parkway where hell hope in the pope mobile for a papal parade. From the art museum to city hall and back. The holy father wraps up it with festival of families, special guests include actor mark wahlberg, and aretha franklin. By 9 00, the pope should be on the way to seminary to stay overnight. Well, priests, religion, and parrish members with tickets to attend the mass at cathedral this morning are gathered at Villanova University right now. Heres the pictures sent to us, priests and nuns arrived hours ago. This particular group is from newman university, waiting to board busses to take them to mass. A big surprise for a group from kentucky who arrived last night ahead of the popes visit. 50 parishioners from a Catholic Church in Bowling Green are here after securing a donated bus and a synagogue offered them a place to stay. Now, they thought they would watch the weekend events on a jumbotron in the parkway, but last night, they learned all have tickets to tomorrows papal mass on the parkway. We are very excited. Theres many of our group have never done anything like this. They have not been to the east coast, even less a synagogue or the opportunity to see pope francis. The world meeting of families, families, the world meeting of families, they donated those tickets, very nice. Make sure you download the nbc 10 app right now. Has everything to get ready for the papal visit, and also, if youre just trying to get around it, maybe you work today, all the mass transit changes are listed there, plus, if you plan to go to the parkway with the family, theres a list of things you cannot take because you dont want to be stopped by security. He had part of the right lung removed after pneumonia, was ordained in 19 69, ordained bishop of buenos aires in snoou, and next year the pope was installed as archbishop in 1998, and the conclave of cardinals at the vatican elected him pope of march of 2013. I was there. Quite a sight. Now to think hes here, first washington, then philadelphia. Every stop the pope makes in america is one for the history books because this is a popes first visit to the u.
