The announcement comes after the prison warden was placed on paid leave. Eight Corrections Officers have also handed in their resignations since that deadly standoff. New numbers show soda tax sales are fizzling. The city managers report lower than what is needed to reach the yearly goal of 91 million. Small Business Owners say the soda tax is directly to blame for the slump in sales. While the mayor explains the criticism of the tax. No sign of it, theres a lot of fog in delaware, philadelphia and south jersey where the temperatures are in the 40s. As the warm air thats been surging in the area overnight, bringing in the moisture and giving the fog. Up to 51 degrees in bridgeton. And the temperatures start climbing before sunrise. Turnersvill turnersville. Audubon. Florence. And some areas dont have clear skies that have gotten cooler but the temperatures are now climbing up warmer than an hour ago. So the temperatures are climbing, but its going to take hours for the fog to clear. So expect to see thick fog at the bus stops. Allentown, quakertown, exton, reading. Youll find that for Atlantic City and trenton where the visibility has been down to a quarter mile. We do have that flow with moisture, too, bringing in the fog thats going to lead to massive warmups this afternoon. Fog will clear, then we get sunshine, and then the temperatures take off later today. 9 00 in philadelphia. 51 degrees. The fog will still be around. It wont be as thick as it is right now, but it will linger into the late morning hours. Then at 1 00 in the afternoon, breaks of sunshine. Look at the temperatures going from 51 degrees to 63 degrees at 1 00. Well see a similar warmup in the suburbs to the fog. This morning, done at 1 00 in the afternoon. And 63 degrees. The Lehigh Valley will eventually get fog. Its just starting to roll into the northwestern suburbs and neighborhoods. 49 degrees and then sunshine and middle 60s at 5 00. In gar, 9 00, well see some improvement. Look at afternoon temperatures for delaware. And also new jersey, a little cooler at the shore, however that is warmer than yesterday. The fog will clear out. 60 degrees by 1 00 this afternoon. Warmer weather ahead for the weekend. And then some changes for the second half of the weekend and into the next week. Traffic moving on 422. Even through the foggy conditions. Norristown, a crash. Harding boulevard around markley street. And moving into new jersey with the tractor trailer. Out in cinnaminson, were seeing this here. We will also doublecheck in with that. Either way the southbound side on route 73 just between odonnell lane and around high street, coming away from the taconypalmyra bridge. So, at least we wont see any more backups or delays for traffic trying to cross the bridge, especially if theres an opening at some point for the rest of the morning. For drivers and drive times not really seeing any big problems with delays. Just reduced visibility in the area and because of that were also seeing speed restrictions as well. Dense fog in the new jersey turnpike. Speed restrictions under 50 Miles Per Hour from the delaware Memorial Bridge. Heading up to exit 7a, 45 miles an hour on the parkway coming from cape may to clinton falls. Were seeing reduced speeds in some areas. Were also watching an overturned tractor trailer. In cinnaminson. We do have a lane here. At least we wont see any backups or delays if a bridge opening occurs later on in the morning commute. For now, were watching slowdowns coming off of that ramp as well. As for the rest of the bridges, the taconypalmyra, no problems approaching the bridge because of that tractor trailer going the other way but were also watching fog on the commodore barry. Lets talk more about the fog. With first alert meteorologist bill henley with the most accurate neighborhood forecast. Its widespread. Were seeing fog at the shore. This will show you the clouds that are with us over the fog. That well still see even after the fog disappears. Some of the thickest fog can be at Philadelphia International. Actually reporting a halfmile visibility which is an improvement. That looks socked in from that view. Right now, zero visibility from coatesville. Pottstown, a quartermile visibility. Reading and berks county, Lehigh Valley, allentown, fivemile visibility. Dense fog for doylestown, blue bell. Northeast philadelphia and trenton and wilmington all seeing quartermile visibility. Some spots along the coastline, toms river and belmar, thicker than Atlantic City, no issue at all. And the temperatures have actually been warming up overnight. At midnight, philadelphia was 43 degrees. Well, rt suns not even up. 48 degrees right now and climbing. And the temperatures got schooler where the skies were cool overnight. 35 degrees in the lehigh vaem. Most of these neighborhoods have seen the temperatures climbover night. Warrington is 45. Bedminster in the 30s, now 42 degrees there. Well see a big warmup day. Well get sunshine for doylestown, trenton and philadelphia this afternoon. Showers to the south this morning. But i am watching a little bit of activity to the northwest. Not much of the system, not coming together yet. But we could see some showers this evening. And well definitely see some wet weather for the weekend. Temperatures in the 70s saturday. And the suburbs will still be mild on saturday. A big cooldown for sunday and that will come with the cold front. Before it gets here, were headed for 70 degrees this afternoon. The fog will be long gone. Well have breaks of sunshine. Warmer tomorrow. We could see a repeat of fog in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon. Turning cooler for sunday and another warmup next week. The fog is creeping into the berks county and now the Lehigh Valley. Allentown has reported light fog at fivemile visibility. Much thicker for pottstown. Doylestown, blue bell. Coatesville hasnt changed at all. Were seeing the fog in southeast philadelphia, now reporting delays of halfmile fog. Quartermile fog in wilmington. And even some areas at the shore. But not everybody at the shore is seeing that. More common in central and northern jersey than it is in south jersey right now. Here you can see the range of conditions. Theres delaware. Look at the Lehigh Valley. Easton completely clear this morning. The fog hasnt reached here. The warm air hasnt moved in. But the warm air will be moving in with clouds at 9 00 this morning. You may see fog developing in easton, before we break out with bright sunshine and see a big warmup by lunchtime. 59 degrees. The suburbs, 49 degrees.
